I'm an expressive painter and love nothing more than spirited landscapes, wild seas and crazy weather to draw on for inspiration. I use colour, texture and markmaking to convey my experience of the landscape, using layers of mixed media to build the history of the image.
For me being an artist is to live a creative life through my art practice, sharing my passion and grasping the opportunity to grow.

A Tip to Capture the Sense of a Place
Next time you're in an inspiring landscape and find yourself without your sketch book, rather than just taking photos, take a few videos instead.
Then create a repeating loop with your phone editing tools. (Ask a young'un if you're not sure how to!)
This way you get to relive the sounds and movements of the landscape, as well as the visuals. It will help transport you back there in an instance, once you're home, informs of your sketch books.
