Fort Loudon Lake Bass Fishing 2/8/2025
This was a short morning trip to Fort Loudon Lake, our first trip to Loudon this year. The bite was not bad, but it was tough to find any size today!

We found the shad, just didn't find the bass that were willing to bite.

It is always fun to go fishing with Wayne. We have gone to church together for years. He always cuts up and has a good time! The conditions were tough: muddy, falling water, strong wind, and a cold front bringing snow flurries.

It was a slow day on Douglas, but we put a few in the boat.

Has the lake been cleaned up from the flooding?
@@joshmiller1146Not all the way yet. The last storm that we had washed a lot more trash off the banks in the water so be careful if you get out there soon!

Nickajack Lake is a favorite of mine. Nice video. I caught them pretty good slow rolling a 3/4 oz spinnerbait with a large, single colorado blade
@@patrickmahoney3479 That is awesome! Thanks for the info. I’ll have to give it a try. That’s only the second time I have fish that lake. It’s a very beautiful lake with a lot of healthy fish.

What kind of spinning rod is the black and green one? It’s pretty nice.
@@Backwood865 It is a Flattop Custom Rod built by Phil White in Seymour, Tennessee. I have two rods I’ve had him build for me and they are great rods.

I see lot of folks slapping their crankbaits on the water trying to remove trash from it,then complain bout the bills breaking or not durable, well that's the cause of the bills not holding up,just reel it in and pull the trash off,and any crankbait bill will last looooong time.try it actually works🤔

@@clarencecoleman5397 Thank you! We stayed in 8’-10’ but it dropped off to about 28’ and the lake is 37’ down right now.

How's the clean up on the lake coming along?
@@dennisdewald6729 It’s slow going it’s gonna take a long time. From what I’ve heard they have really cleaned up a couple of the coves. I know I went just a little bit above the bridge at Dandridge and went to the first Cove on the left and it is completely full of trash. There’s even tree tops in the main channel in 35 foot of water.

@@clarencecoleman5397 Thank you! Douglas is about 36 feet down right now. We were targeting the fish in about 6-8 foot of water. We had to get away from the bait to find the fish that would bite.
I was there on the 1st well. Never took a bite. Very rare occurrence for me on Douglas. Great video!

I was just up there over new years staying on the lake with our whole family but not fishing. The water patrol boat were out there day and night with their lights on. What was they doing? Awesome catches by the way.
@@basscatlildave I hope you and your family had a good time! They have been cleaning up the lake from hurricane Helene. The upper end of the lake is full of debris. We have been staying on the lower end out of their way.
