the Curious Conundrum of the Conflagrated Condottiero
It had tons of great content for developing a caster oriented campaign in Zakhara or your own Middle Eastern flavoured setting. I loved the Clockwork Wizard. If you play Al-Qadim is it just packed with new options for arcane casters.
I wish more people were running this system. So many cool concepts.
Why is this labeled as 6th edition? That would be like calling the 4e essential books 5th editition. This is Revised 5th Edition. Also just gonna out it out there, you probably shouldn't be filming and posting page by page bits of the book, that can and will lead to serious legal troubles
5.5e not 6th edition
Ah hello sir. Absolutely don't let your players use str+ con+ dex for barbarian ac lol you will regret that! Kinda feels like you grabbed the 2024 book straight from 2nd edition play? I'm glad to see old school players and DMs still kicking it! Don't compare 2024 to the version your more familiar with, the game has changed alot even in 5th edition.
actually, although I did convert to 2nd ed AD&D when it came out, and later to 3.5. When I got fed up with 3.5, I went back to (1st ed) AD&D, which was the funnest version. I bought the starter set for 5E and the PHB, But have been unable to make sense of it. Joining a a couple of 5E games has helped some. But I am finding 6E much easier to understand.

The full page art pieces are pretty sweet 🐙
Has to be my favorite books when i was a kid
I really wish they would have just made a Complete Cleric book instead.
I am always down to host a weird jagged cliff campaign

I hate to term Old School. It somehow infers we have moved on to better things and the old stuff is old fashioned. But what it really is is there are good games and bad games. And if a game is old and still good. Then it’s better then some modern games
a year later and Quelling is the only one of these I have been able to run
Can I use this with 1e DMG Qand 1e MM?
Yes. It is a retro-clone of (1st ed) AD&D. So you can use your AD&D books with it.
Awesome.
This system is the proto-d20 System later used for 3.0/3.5 D&D games.
it did give us the ascending AC. But Feats came from the Celts book.
This isn't the FULL OSRIC book. There is a page that shows the full books cover - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSRIC
Just finished it, the whole stupid wicca thing gets old, but it was a fun book
I wish my fellow Wiccans were like the McKenzies. But I suspect they would be more like those idiots in Island in the Sea of Time.
Thank you for your review
Is worth It?
I learned quite a bit about the differences between magic and psionics and this handbook helped.
Why?..
This was one of my favorite brown books for Second Edition. The other was the Humanoids book. You could run a whole campaign on the Psionics book alone focusing on the weirdness of it, with an entire party of psionicists. The players options psionics was another example of TSR trying to suck the life out of psionics (the first attempt was arguably the 1st edition take relegating psionics to wild talents while the original rules in Eldritch Wizardry basically gave you an early psionicist class with the magic-user giving up spells for psionics.
It's been a long time since you've posted this, and you might already be aware by now... it seems you've treated the grid squares as 5' squares. On that map, the grid was 10' squares. Playing at the correct grid scale might have your Caverns & Warrens of the Troglodytes a lot less cramped. 🙂
I always use a 10' grid
@@Atalanta1313 what I was referring to is that your tokens for monsters are twice as big in scale as the grid. That is, the tokens are too big for the squares. If you're using 10' grid on this map (as you should be) then you need to reduce the creature tokens to half the size if you want players to appreciate the scale accurately.
Do you have your castle, from Ginel online anywhere? I'd love to be able to point the Spelljammer fans at The Piazza at it.
Nice video, but you accidentally flipped past Dwellers in the Vortex.
Very very quiet.
Would love to buy a physical copy of this.
Thank you , happy gaming friend !
Plenty of these monsters absolutely existed in other settings. Githyanki we're at least in the Forgotten Realms because they were enslaved by the Mind Flayers. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter. Use what you want wherever you want it, and change flavor to suit if need be.
Just like they changed our commandments 😢
Wow 😢
Can't hear you!
Wow, finally. An interesting channel randomly appeared on my RUclips feed! Great job my dude, keep doing what you do 🙂
Ah, the infamous D20 Book of Erotic Fantasy...which honestly wouldn't be quite so infamous if WotC hadn't kicked up a fuss. The book offers just as many, if not more reasons for your characters not to have sex that to do it...at least when compared to Mongoose Publishing's "Encyclopedia Arcane: Nymphology: Blue Magic". Still, fun thing to threaten a 3.X DM with when they tell you Any book is allowed in their game.
I had that book when I was a teenager. I saved up my own money (from mowing lawns, shoveling snow, etc.) to be able to afford it. I read it from cover to cover many times. Good memories; thanks.
More adventures to conquer....in the name of the *Blood Queen of Wallachia!*
Now search for secret compartments!!!
Good u uploading these examinations of old and new roleplaying materials.
This is my favorite sourcebook ever. It’s crazy there’s no videos analyzing it.
Ive never played this module but Ive read it and the two sequels. While I was never a big fan of cosmic heroes but this one is really good. Marvel rpg had a hard time making adventures for the superpowerful characters. This was by far the best of the 3. I really liked the showdown with the Inhumans. Nice review.
Excellent overview of a wonderful and vastly underrated RPG!
This looks great. What went wrong with D&D?
The wrong people got into the game, both as players and creators
@@CharlieWhitesWigI just stick with what isn’t broken. (Advance dungeons and dragons e1 and e2. ) I have given 3.0 and 4e a try but it is too video game like for me. I have the books and should sell or give them away. Not going to waste my time and money on 5e
Looks cool, where did you order all these books from?
directly from Lamentations of the Flame Princess, which has both a European store and a USA store. (and some products are only available from one of them)
I found the 1st to be my most joy able to use. Which one did you find was the weakest.
I do not understand people. I could get it if it was a matter about having to buy the product to use it. But you already have the books/games, so... what good is not playing it going to do? And yea, if its bad, then sure. Just a small extra nudge to not play something that is not cool in the first place. But if the setting is good... I just do not get it.
Ah, nice to know why I have not been able to find the first one. I remember seeing it not long ago, but I was still just looking around a bit at the time. Oh well I suppose I saved some money.
You stated this: OSRIC does not have a few things from (1st ed) AD&D. Namely: Monks, Bards, and Psionics. True but if you wan tot adds them to the game there is a large OSR OSRIC community that has added them in PDF downloads.
Mm, i was hoping for a deeper explanation for each kit
Hi! you should have a link for this product (and benefit from that link!)
