Select an ArchWall, Click the variant PropertySet button 2. It adds to the underlying ArchSketch an extra PropertySet 3. As a Wall is selected, the command automatically create another Wall 4. ArchSketchPropertySet attribute of the new Wall points to the new PropertySet of the ArchSketch 5. EditWall command is called, users select what wall segments are included in the new PropertySet of the ArchSketch 6. In the same PropertySet, user can select wall edges for Slab, CurtainWall 7. Coming - support ArchObjects other than Wall 8. Coming - select an ArchSketch and click the button, it adds new Property Set

Thanks. Multi-layer wall is complicated and not supported at the moment. I would like this feature be realised indeed :)

@@paullee5824 definitely, if it's released in the never version of freecad i'll like to try it out. I don't like working with non released versions of freecad because many people ask me questions on the tutorials and it's hard to help them with a release that is not yet official, but i look forward to it.

Thanks, so far all these just follows what Topologic+Homemaker has been able to do; it's just a mock-up. Automatic placing of doors / windows could be a time-saver :)

@@paullee5824 When I recreate your setup... I cant get sketcher lines to be colored. Its grayed out. Not active. So I have Unnamed > wall > Archsketch_name. Then I go to the sketcher workpanel but not active tools.

I solved it myself... I had to click Edit Sketch. Then I was able to click the create sketch line within the ArchSketch

@@randyvanmieghem886 Glad you figured it out 😊 The add-on is experimental to explore ways to help development of floor plan, feel free to help by providing feedback, or even adding code in github, correcting bugs, documentation etc.

Yes, these are all the attributes to help users to set which Wall object it want to attach to, the parameters like the offset distance from one end of the wall etc.

I’ve seen it and spent a few hours trying to figure out how Sketcharch works. I didn’t get it unfortunately, and i felt a little lost. I probably don't have enough knowledge. I think the people who master the program as you demostrate in the Villa Savoye, could put more effort into explaining it, if you want to promote FreeCAD. Honestly, i think a half hour video explaining Sketcharch and starting a little example from zero, would be more understandable than the whole forum discussion that only a few can follow and understand.

@@jsolersallent It is really a pity that there is a lack of resource in the experiment, one aspect is like what you says documentation and demonstration in an organised way. Always hope there are more peoples who can help in the FreeCAD Arch/BIM development. In fact, I try to build the add-on while I try to work on some models and try develop some features that I find may help. The most useful thus most used features in the several models are - - Sketch capability (geometric and dimensional constraints) to build a 'single-line floor layout' parametrically - Parametric Placement of Arch Objects (with Topological Naming Tolerant capability) - Width and Align Per Edge

Not sure your meaning about 'master sketch referenced object' ?

The Automatic Placement feature not yet, but different Width / Align for each edges yes :) In short, basically it is features in SketchArch Experimental Add-on : github.com/paullee0/FreeCAD_SketchArch/blob/master/README.md#width--align-per-edge. May check below on separate features development and discussion. Individual Width + Align still kind of work without the Add-on, check the OverrideWidth and OverrideWith properties (my bad, I had not learnt much to update the FC wiki) : - 1. @@paullee5824 hey thank @Paul Lee, I was able to test the Overide Align and Overide width and it works well on the current version of downloadable freecad. If you responsible for this programming it is a great feature to have. so thanks a bunch.

​@@RegisNdeTene Hope you find it useful :) Some heads up for you. There was comment that an Wall object for one wall maybe better, I'm not sure. Then, as my 'sketch toponaming solution' code is not yet made public, make assigning Width and Align the last step as far as possible. And you may note there are 2 tools to kind of help users to assign Width and Align for each Wall Segment.

@@paullee5824 Yes I did notice that it's yet practical to play with the Align and Width in the early stages of manipulation, however as these are experimental features, for now we'll go for them, i'll explore them a bit more as i'm testing them to get a bit more familiar with the latest developments in freecad.

Still thinking how it should work - e.g. in the demo, additional faces are added to represent the regions / rooms identified, but it is no good to be really included in the Shape of ArchWall ( Limited by coding knowledge and understanding of FC core :) ). Maybe peoples have more ideas ? :D

Look forward to your another series of tutorials / testing out of workflow on 0.19 :D

Bruno Postle's paper is promising which explain 5 methods to generate curved surfaces that are made up of quadrilateral panels thus developable - in some way more buildable :D So hopefully this may be implemented to create some 'standard' tools to streamline the creation possibly.

Better you do :D With your prior experience, understanding of Arch/BIM, you should have good suggestions to improve. And BTW @sanderboer's Macro was made in Sep 2019, just recently it was brought up again and I have time and more knowledge to understand how it works :LoL:

Thanks, it is possible of course :) It is made to require manual update at the moment otherwise when there are many similar objects and many levels to recompute (+ Techdraw), it may requires some time to wait to continue modelling (particular on my pc with i3 only) :D
