Having the longest run, 54 weeks, at number 1 in the history of the Billboard album chart, it's also certified 3 times platinum by RIAA. It topped the UK album chart as their best selling album in 1962. You guessed wrong about most people because most don't remember that P.J. Proby recorded "Maria". At the present time he's mostly known for his DWP fraud case.

Guess mostly people will associate "Maria" to the living legend P.J. Proby who had a hit with Maria" in the middle 60´s - and is still going strong

It reminds me somewhat of Tal Farrow. I think the theme is well executed and interesting, but could benefit from a different backing track. I think a more "lounge-ish" feel would make it even better and not make it fall into the smooth jazz category. Still, very well done.

i take it you're an immensely gifted, elitist and tortured artist? why do you even have to say, "your no pat metheny" anyway? (notice your grammatical blunder giving you away) the improvisation is wonderful in and of itself. the guitarist makes no pretense whatsoever. his improvisation, even in it's most distilled analysis, is an homage to pat.

usually copacabana is a mess, what are u talking about? copacabana is so nice and has the same problemas as any another big city... i love copacabana.. i lived in torino, italy now im living in seattle, EUA, nothing compared to copacabana in rio... is a completely diferent way of life, a way better... i hope i can live there again..

Rio is quite possibly my favourite city in the world. However, if you are going to visit, be sure to stay in Ipanema, not Copa. Copa has become a bit more sleazy in the last 20 years and isn't very safe at all. In Ipanema, however, I was able to walk around drunk as you like all time of the night without ever having trouble. And I've been there multiple times for weeks at a time.

Rio is an incredible unique city which combines massive forest, gorgeous beaches and huge mountains all together. But, tourists say that carioca ( born in Rio ) are the best of Rio. Just contact local people before you go to the "wonderful city"

It's obvious it's an envious statement from a jealous Paulista who are constantly in rivalry with Rio. Noisy ? Polluted ? Beggars ? Dogs ? You don't see that in Paris, New York, Rome, San Francisco, London or São Paulo, right ? Rio has the most beautiful landscape in the world and ... can you tell me why the number of tourists coming to this wonderful city is increasing every year ?
