This was informative, I just submitted my 62E today for 13A!

Sir, one question. Did he start the G2G without any Schooling/College credits and if he did how do I go about it?
I once hung a Harley Davidson flag (procured from the dealership next to the commissary) on the flag pole at HQ in Nov. 2012, I still look back at the picture I took and think about the aneurism the SGM/OIC had that morning.
Do you have instagram by any chance? I want to ask you a question about the green to gold program and need some advice from you. Thank you!
Yes, therealc_hill
Can you get an EOD Officer? That’s my number 1 (before branch night)
looking at this as an option after high school
Was all for my ESB until I got no-goed by a fat power tripping PFC. IMO, the badge doesn’t have any quality control. I know people who breezed by with so many “bro-goes”. I don’t think I’ll go for a 3rd attempt unless they change quality assurance measures. Plus, so many graders have quirks with lane standards that arent at all IAW the E3B book. They say protest everything, but then treat you like shit for protesting.
People fit in all branches of the army. Different personalities, obviously different skill sets and personal interests. But when you break it down, the entire Department of Defense exists to support the Infantry. The branch that enforces national policy in the final 300 meters. Well spoken by the way. Good insights and understanding of various positions of responsibility. Understanding who you are leading is way more important than many realize. Bravo. It is odd in a small way, that the PSG had a couple of deployments under his belt as if that wasn’t the norm. Then I remembered time passes. We once deployed 7 weeks after returning from a deployment. But I’m not bragging, this is the time when you young officers work on you and your craft. Make the absolute most of it. Work life balance is just fine. Whoever is selling work life integration is just trying to get a medal for rephrasing what everyone already understands. Think about it. Do you want a balance or to integrate your work and your home life. Ask your “mentor” or look it up in the dictionary. Dumb. Sorry. I would on the surface of that comment run away from that mentor unless you actually want to integrate your work with your life. Perhaps you do. I found peace at home where I didn’t burden my wife with my job. She participated in some aspects of our social events, but she was never integrated in my career. That sounds horrible and I will bet a million dollars you both know wives integrated in their husband’s careers. Toxic. Just one example, but think about the words you are using and if they mean what you intend, carry on. I can’t see how that turn of phrase can become a positive. Let me know if I am wrong. Thanks though to both of you for your service. - retired infantry officer
Just got back, thanks for all of the helpful advice! The only thing I would advise not doing is eat at the airport because they changed height and weight to day 1.
Commissioned officers are bureaucrats in uniform. No one wants them around. I know. I was listed and commissioned.
Who in their right mind go from a 1SG to a butter bar? You were one away from a SGM. SMH
Will there be anyone that'll help with the process along the way?
16 years SFC, graduating OCS next week. Let’s goooo!!
Let’s go!!! Love to see this 🫡
You only had to do 2 years of school and ROTC? Did you already have any college credits prior to doing G2G? And if not will you need to do 3 or 4 years?
got dismissed from O.C.S. though classified as able to return though I'll be 36-37 by then.....it does feel nice to hear these stories and know that older gents are going through
was it beneficial financially speaking ?
can you do a video on the green to gold non-scholarship option
Is it a different process for somebody that coming from a different branch that would like to apply for the G2G program?
Always go Reserves/Guard when trying to a pilot in the military. You get to pick your aircraft and have a civilian aviation career at the same time.
I wish the G2G school time still counted towards retirement 😢
Who gives af what a bunch of slick Sleeves say or think
Apparently 14+k viewers. My videos are geared towards helping cadets prepare for their next chapter as a professional, not combat. If this content isn’t for you, please keep it moving, Very Respectfully!
Thank you Sir for this informative video, I’m an active duty soldier stationed in Germany and about to apply for G2G. Just preparing to raise my GT score and start the process . Wish me luck 🍀
You’ve got this! Keep me posted, what part of GM?
How can I make this happen I completed 2 years of active duty and have 2 years left I want to join ROTC with my last 2 years by getting a 16-2 but I need a 110 GT score I don’t think my commander will let me retake asvab
I think with a little more persistence you can absolutely make this happen. I recommend you and your first line leadership getting on your company Commander’s calendar to discuss your career goals. It’s hard for me to imagine your leadership denying you an opportunity to advance in your career unless it conflicts with training, or under SFPA (flagged) circumstances.
If your commander denied you 0:53 to retake asvab for 110 GT score what are some other ways to be able to retake asvab only thing holding me back is GT score
I recommend you and your first line leadership getting on your company Commander’s calendar to discuss your career goals. It’s hard for me to imagine your leadership denying you an opportunity to advance in your career unless it conflicts with training, or under SFPA (flagged) circumstances. Please go into this prepared, have class dates and timelines for more than one course. Essentially have a plan A and B to propose to your boss. Also, go in with a general understanding of your units training schedule to ensure you are not going to miss any key training. Best wishes to you, keep me posted.
Started my masters through LU and they have been fantastic. Switching my major now and dropping my G2G application!
Austin, this is awesome! Thanks for sharing, wishing you nothing but the best!
Going into the BSEP course to raise my GT score trying to get my packet submitted!!
Nice! I’m happy for you, please keep me updated and let me know if you have any questions.
Congratulations!
Where can I find the 2SCR ESB handbook? Thanks for the video Sir Air Assault Always Ready!
Last year my 1SG ensured we had them. I will see if they are in stock after my leave. Good luck to you, I know you’re going to crush it!
I leave for basic next month and was thinking of wanting to become officer. Thank you for your video. It definitely helped open the door to a possibility I didn’t know or wasn’t sure could be obtainable.
I wish you the best! Congrats on joining as well. Please keep me updated on your journey. Take it one day/step at a time, very proud of you!
Hi. New subscriber here! What a wonderful interview. I've been a DC-based PA for over 20 years. It's a great profession. I'm just a civilian but, my armed forces PA colleague certainly echo this young man's testimony. Keep up the great work you are doing with this channel! Take care!🙂👋🏽👨🏽⚕️
Thank you for your kind words sir, I appreciate you watching and subscribing!
I’ve got a question please. I’m about to separate from the Navy with 10 years of enlisted service. I’m considering trying to get commissioned in the Army but I do not have a degree and I’m 30 years old. I do, however, have 33 college credits with a 4.0 GPA. Are you familiar with any process to get commissioned before finishing my degree under my circumstances? Thank you 🙏
Honestly? OCS (Officer Candidate School) is the best thing for you to do.
See my three recommendations below. To be clear I am not a recruiter and my recommendations do not guarantee that you will get accepted or qualify for the programs listed below (do more extensive research). Three recommendations: 1. After fulfilling your Navy contract, use your education benefits and enroll in an Army ROTC program at your university. This will allow you to complete your degree and commission as a 2LT in the US Army. 2. Enlist into the Army and start your Green to Gold Packet following any training requirements. This option allows you to start without a completed degree. Green to Gold will also allow you to PCS to the college of your choice and complete your undergraduate or first graduate degree. 3. Complete your undergraduate degree and then go through OCS (Officer Candidate Course).
I start in Oct. 1st, I’m a bigger dude, just cardio is what I been working on. I heard it’s a big deal. Nervous but excited (PFC)
I recommend taking a few practice EPFAs (Expert Physical Fitness Assessments) and freshening up on your Land Nav. Those are the first two events you will do. Keep in mind you must also qualify expert on your M4 and pass your ACFT with certain scores as a pre-req (talk to your leadership for more details).
@@Therealc_hill Roger that.
So how did you become a PA in the army
Hello, Sir question, if you are going to college studying something that has nothing to do with your MOS and you want to go to G2G program, are they going to approve you? If so, do they change your army MOS? How does that work?

Reading through the ADO option bonus repayment stood out to me as I'll be 2 years into a 6-year contract by the time my packet would get picked up, can you shed any light on this sir?

Can you do Quartermaster and transportation
So why do they say you have to at least have 2 years left to put in your green to gold packet?

You guys got it easy!!! When I went threw the EIB Course, you don't have a chance if you get a NO GO. We had to max PT with a 300 score, SQT had to be 100 and weapons qualification had to be 40 for 40 expert. We also had a night and day land navigation course.
Ya ya ya everyone had it harder then the next guy, it's a tale older than time. "Well back In my day did such n such". Gtfo
The PT test is different now.. I would LOVE to see you score a 600/600
Why you even watching this then high speed?
There is night and day high speed
Are you able to rank you in G2G

Cool video & great content! About to head out to CST in a few days then begin my senior year...I hope to branch AG!!!!
Crush it! And I hope you get AG as well, great choice… let me know if you have any questions!
If you’ve got great leadership, they’ll drill all the EIB/ESB knowledge into your brain and train for it months in advance with their entire squads to ensure success. The EIB eluded me for 5yrs due to poor leadership. It’s a damn shame.
Agreed, you need some good leaders in your corner. I had a great 1SG and CDR duo so I understand exactly where you’re coming from! Great comment 🫡
Can you do combat engineer or EOD please
I will certainly try! Stay tuned 😎
Thanks Chap! I'm here at BOLC and the chaps have been great. I have more opportunities to go to church in the Army than I do in civvy life. And I'm greatful for that.
Thanks Kenny for the comment and kind words! Best wishes in BOLC and beyond!
Can you get an MI officer to help those that are going into that field
What is esd?

If i have less than two years of classes for a bachelor's how does the affect my G2G packet? I am reading the G2G booklet so if infindbthe answer my apologies.
Your academic advisor and Professor of Military Science just need to show on your 104-R that you will finish your degree in 4 semesters aka 2 years.
@@Therealc_hill thank you. I found the answer on Facebook group. I watched one of your videos and noticed you mentioned that G2G Facebook group.
@@Therealc_hill From my understanding is i need to be a full time student the whole two years. If I don't have enough classes to be full time a solution is to add a minor and stay at full time. 12 units for undergrad and 6 units for grad school.
@@Therealc_hill This question came up because I have the ability to take some class online while going through the G2G ADO process and waiting to PCS. I was concerned about finishing classes before getting to ROTC.
