Are there age restrictions on test driving or purchasing a vehicle? There are some age restrictions. You do have to have a valid drivers license and be 16 in order to test drive. You can test drive by yourself. In order to purchase a vehicle, you have to be 18 or older, or have a valid drivers license with a parent or guardian that go on the contract and title with you.

What is the address to the inspection
Where exactly do they print the "Salvage" brand on the title? Can We see an example so We know what to look for?
How do you get the car there?
What if I bought the car with a salvage title but got fixed and I bought it fixed. Fella didn’t give me receipts or paperwork
Wrong again, he said this car is now going to have a branded salvage rebuilt title. The truth is after car is in accident insurance adjuster puts salvage on title which means you have option of fixing or junking. If you want to save money and fix it you then need paperwork from bmv filled out and the title then comes back saying type of title NORMAL and also says REBUILT vehicle. Body shops are overwhelmed with too many repairs lined up and can't fix car before rental usage is expired so they put this on almost every car that gets bumped.
Question The pictures of the car should I take to the inspection or mail it with the application?
They don't require pictures anymore.
He didn't drive it,what a joke
You people disgust me inspecting my property making my life difficult you piece of
How much costs is?
Do all airbags deployed need to be replaced befor inspection? Im in state of California
Yes
I'm a ASE certified mechanic and I was interested in what goes into these rebuilt cars so I bought one myself to check it out. Basically once we started pulling off trim pieces we saw all manner of bullshit going on behind the scenes, the SRS airbag sensor was totally missing and a paperclip was jumping the wire was the 1st red flag (could only be seen if the car was totally ripped apart by the way) , 2nd red flag was that the seat belt pretensioner bearings were removed, and so the seat belt locking mechanism in the event of a crash was not going to work, and you cannot test this out by the way. Only can be checked by taking the entire car apart. Next up we had the air bags. Missing again and jumped with paperclips so the system believes they're intact. Then onto the frame damage, the frame was just pulled out to make the body look straight under the fenders, nothing on it was actually fixed, again you cannot see the damage unless you pull the fenders and trim off. No state inspection is going to check for this stuff. it would be too time consuming.
Salvage vehicles are for keeping without the intent to sell, I’ve had no problem with mine honestly never left me stranded.
No airbags either
@@garyLexingtons Except in some states you can’t legally drive until the salvage title is rebuilt. Therefore unless you are selling the car for a part out or using it for parts for yourself, the car has no use for you because you can’t drive it.
IF this is true you can see who rebuilt it because they have to sign their name on the paperwork and this is what you should do. I'm not so sure I believe all this there is HUGE push to just get people to just buy another vehicle. Because that is how the state and federal gov. make money.
You can keep or sell.@@garyLexingtons
I have a abs light would that fail it
As he rotates the tire he can tell if the welds and frame is good😂 this dude doing a state inspection not a salvage rebuilt inspection. I'm just getting stated in the auction business and it seems as I'll be just fine...😅😂
If you did not rebuild the car you do not have to provide receipts and sources of the parts. In case someone was wondering. Statement of builder also doesn't apply to you.
Is this in every state or a specific state?
Is this in a specific state?
@@annienielsen7457 i only know of it in florida.
do I need to take out my tints before the salvage inspection? My car came with it but will they deny or fail me because I have tints. I can take it off but if its no problem I can just keep it
In Connecticut you have to make sure that the tint is 35% or higher, if its lower percentage, they will fail it.
@@tasimist Only the front driver windows; back passenger and rear windshield and be any tint %
the driver's side front amber side marker light is out on that Captiva.. it would not pass inspection here in PA without a working bulb in there
Older cars don't require airbags for rebuilt title. Why do newer cars
I don't know about where you're at but in Ohio they want you to prove that you're not a thief. Basically, they're saying " we think you put stolen Parts on this car ! So now prove to us that you didn't !". This is buggy whip Manufacturing in the 1930s. Number one thing is if you're going to steal a car.. a modern car .. the owner is going to need to help you with that !! The only cars that gets stolen these days are the one that the owner is complicit in helping you with.. Like he left it running in the driveway , or he's paying you to steal it so he can collect the insurance ..etc etc . Modern cars just can't be stolen. Number 2 is if the car is got a salvage title you can't lie and say it's never been wrecked because those going to look at Carfax and see everything that was wrong with it and probably see pictures of it wrecked so if you think you're going to fix a wrecked car and pawn it off as a cherry... WRONG! So what are salvage titles and Salvage repaired inspections helping? Well they're helping the new car companies with selling their cars because they've just made it difficult to repair a wrecked car by at least double I had to wait 30 days on the last one I did to get in for the inspection in Ohio that's complete crap and holds up my Commerce. Salvage titles help insurance companies. They get much higher premiums with not much more risk on a newer car when you salvage car is Salvage..yea.. you want to buy a new car. i If it wasn't a "salvage car" and the connotation is that it's not safe makes you think that the car is worse than it is ....you might fix that car!? Can't have that crap .. all you sheeple. Salvage titles and salvage cars Help The Used Parts industry have you noticed that the used parts industry is becoming bigger and bigger corporations all gobbling up the little yards? .. And then we also have some state jobs involved with this salvage title scam. So remember :stolen parts are pretty darn rare these days. Stolen cars is what you need to have 'Hot Parts' .. you just can't steal cars like in the 80's 90's and 00s #2 you can't lie and hide the fact that it was wrecked.. Duh Carfax and all the other ones super simple to use it's practically instantaneous... This is buggy whip Manufacturing in the 1930s technology has made it a moot point and another government boondoggle, fed by Big Corp donations to encourage pulling the wool over the consumer's eyes telling him that thier car is not safe because it's a saaaalllllvage car.. Now that we can call it "Salvage" ..who wants to drive around in a Pile of Salvage???.. What B.S. Wake up America! Earl Pitts out
📘
You're exactly right about everything. It's all because they want to slow down rebuilt cars because they don't want people saving any money. My 2 cents worth on all the honest police out there....I saw a video here on YT this guy put apple airpods on his suv as soon as it was stolen he calls police he tells the police where it is and still never got it back, ended up in Dubai.
Genuinely curious about this. Why is it that everyone in a uniform in the USA is strapped? The guy is DMV but packing a glock and taser. What is his mandate that would allow or require that? Some videos even have the water and power guy in Oregon walking around with a gun. So far the only thing i have seen not wearing a weapon was garbage collection. Although some of the senior staff there wear uniforms that look like they served 5 tours in Iraq.
He's not nust from the DMV tho, he is a State Trooper officer on duty
@@andrewkesler1522 Didnt see it until you mentioned it and i looked closer at the shoulder board. My bad on that.
Well it sure isn't a multipoint inspection.
I like he wears a gun to inspect a vehicle
Custom exhaust??
Great info. Getting my 00 c3500 dually going. Insurance payout & buy back.
What motor?
@@RustyZipper 454, 4L80E
They check that all of the air bag lights, check Engine light everything on the dash works?
What about the frame. Inspection.. the most important part!!
They don’t care they only care if you used stolen parts
Yeah....after all it is already up on a lift and hes just walking around under it with a flashlight for no real reason
Do state inspection check for window tint or just the safety of the car and lights and repairs done
I am no more confident in this system than before I watched the video. Most people don't have any idea what they're looking at on a vehicle. Cops don't even know the law.
That's not a cop. he is an inspector for car dealership
@@bena9221 @1:40 you can see the emblem on his bicep. "Wisconsin State Patrol" Also, you can see his gun on his belt.. do dealers carry guns?
Will they pass a car with a aftermarket tubes for a front nose
Do you know if they fail for tpms light?
They need this here in Georgia!
They have inspection n ga
I just moved from Philly to jersey...do I have to get a jersey state ID and register my cars here? Like is it mandatory?
I think so my guy
@@Datboul562 🤦♂️
State Police are certified Mechanics now....I am guessing the mechanics that work on police cars aren't used nor do they have the money to hire someone that has the education to do these inspections....LOL
I have question I have salvage in in as salvage so it's salvage title my question it's if I can get clean title
NO
Those inspectors have absolutely no frame, body, electrical or mechanical experience. Even a lady can check for wipers, brake lights and turn signals. I mean they pay for their own vehicles to be repaired because they don't know how to diagnose, or fix engines themselves. They don't even now how to do an oil change . Instead they take it to Walmart to have oil changes. The worst part about it is that they are placing vehicles in circulation that are not roadworthy and a safety hazard to other Citizens.
I agree 100%. What is even the point?
It sorta looks like front marker light is out
Thanks big boy
Yeah check the defrost it's a road safety on the freeway.
Good info
How can I get this started, I visited my local DMV, But they were not able to give me any information about it.
Are cats required to have to pass ?
YES
Hey great video very informative I have a question what if I purchase the salvage vehicle fixed and now I have to take it to the inspection there be a problem I purchased a car already fixed
Do u have any updates on how it went or what u did because I am in the same situation right now?
Who ever fixed it should have sent the title off and got the inspection and gave you a rebuilt title. so you could just go get your plates.
Kind of funny watching this. My "rebuild inspection" for getting my 94 Miata with a salvage title road legal with a rebuilt title involved a DMV employee walking out to the car and making sure the vin on the dash matched the vin on the door. It did so I got the rebuilt title issued. This was in Oregon by the way.
You're lucky!
no way what dmv?
@@masonbala1510 Gladstone, Oregon DMV.
😃😃😃 they did that to my car today just check the vin numbers and that was it lol
Lucky you
The state inspection for the rebuilt title is only an inspection to make sure the car was built with no stolen parts, they have no intentions of seeing if it checks out for safety, only for legit parts that were put on the vehicle.
Daniel I have question
And how are they gonna tell if its stolen.. they got a csi guy checking the websites. Lawl
Of course there's different parts.. how else is it repaired.. could have a whole rear half replaced.. how do they know ??!??..
They check for trivial things and nobody checks if welds were done correctly, suspension done correctly etc. all for show.
So if the reverse light doesn't work may fail?
Lol so much harder than Texas
i agree ... Iowa is easy going too
Do they lift the hood? I’m good as long as they don’t check to see how the lights are screwed in
No, they'll check that...
Sorry, man--no zip ties.
Lol
hahha
LOL as long as they aren't lose and work should be good. They say no zip ties but with a good zip tie it can be stronger than original.
Inspection? He’s not dressed to get dirty. No ball joint check, no pad check, no wheel removal? Please, just another money grab by the state.
I disagree. How is it a money grab? If they got REAL picky, the whole process would cost MORE money.
I agree bud...rip off bullshit 🤬
the inspection cost is about the same to pay the trooper for his time.i think there mostly looking for frame damage, and basic safety standards.this guy will triple his money with this rebuild, well worth it
They cant say the car is safe. It has to meet minimum requirements. If they state it's a save vehicle, and someone dies in a car accident, that's a lawsuit waiting to happen. That's the reason given in WA anyways.
How about checking the frame?
Is it possible to get a rebuilt title if the car is not in the United States? I bought one, and it's in Spain.
You need inspection from state where you are doing paperwork
What if you bought a car from a person and he had a salvage title in his name I don’t have a parts list I bought as is from private person
If the car already has a salvage title, then this process has already been completed.
@@tempest411 do u need paperwork because i dont have no before picture .... just a new salvage title under my name
@@3LBKV You don't need anything at all. You can just sell it like any regular car.
@@tempest411 I need to get inspection and registration

I'd never buy cars from you lol js
