Regarding why vanillaware refuses to port their games from PC: From what I've read online sadly it's seems that their stuck with the outdated JP mentality of being overtly worried about piracy and mods(especially this since for some reason they want to keep how they animate their models a 'mystery' apparently which is silly imo).

I'll pick these up if they come out. Surprised they didn't do Digital Devil Saga first. I don't think they sold very well back in the day, I picked up 2 copies of the collectors edition of Devil Summoner 2 at GameStop for $20 each. 1 to play and one to keep sealed. It goes for like $200 now.

Original Smt 5 shouldn’t be In S Tier. It’s a low C tier game objectively speaking. It’s extremely flawed. Smt 5 vengeance should be in low A tier or high B tier. Metaphor refantazio goes at the top of S tier (arguably the best project atlus have ever made and tackled during development). Persona 5 Royal goes S Tier, P4G is S tier, Smt 4 is s tier. Smt 4 apocalypse is B tier. P3R Would be S tier had the answer been included on the disc or had it gotten a complete physical rerelease but because it doesn’t for now it goes on high A tier, atleast until P3R comes out for the next gen switch with the dlc/expansion pass is on the cartridge. Digital Devil saga 1 and 2 goes in S tier. Smt 3 nocturne goes in A tier

Im a brand new Atlus fan. I'm playing through metaphor and even tried out p3reload before it came out. I'm all in and I wanna get a steam deck when this journey inevitably carries into next year. This video was very informative 🙌

Why are you using playstation buttons on a steam deck? Drives me crazy. If i get the wrong button prompts i get ocd, so i always use Xbox controller when i play on PC. Its better anyway, 10X battery life and more ergonomic imo.

I hope they can get it more stable. I remember p3r was kind of awful to play on the steam deck at launch and now it runs perfect. Hopefully they can get it to where we can at least lock it at 40

I’m playing on my steam deck and I keep crashing when I’m going to a new area, i.e. Grand Trad. I can’t seem to progress 😢 I’m very sad

Edit* fixed. turns out I was a silly boy who had a tdp limit on. I don't understand, they patched the demo but mine still runs like your video from 2 weeks ago with my oled - 23-24 fps. I guess I'm passing on this one. =(

I've been playing around locking the game at 40fps but I will admit that there are occasions it will dip to 30 still. Upon docking it if I bring up to 1080p I can get by mostly with 30fps, but towns sure take a hit.

Well, I finally got sometime to check up on the game and honestly, this is disappointing. Too bad PH3 can't be the one to port all these J-rpgs to PC.

On 1080p resolution, 75% rendering scale, high texture and ambient occlusion off, locking the game to 40FPS, I'm content with the overall peformance. So far I don't think I've seen a dungeon that struggles to keep up 40FPS but there is the issue of that one area in Grand Trad market that just struggles and goes under 30FPS. If it's only small areas like that, I can tolerate it but I hope patches will smooth things out.

I haven’t run into any problems playing this game on the Deck. It even plays exceptionally well on my 5 year old gaming laptop.

My game runs much better on my original 256gb steam deck than it does on yours. I've found that people like me that hardly use their deck, dont download a bunch of stuff via plug ins and third party software via desktop. You know we just play steam games. Have much better fps and battery life. Especially since i dont use my deck often so it hasnt degraded over time like a hardcore users device would. My game running at native 100% res on low settings get 48fps+ in the main city and 54-60fps in combat dungeons. It also only uses around 8-10 watts of power with 30fps cap for much longer than 2 hours of battery life. This isnt new though. my steam deck can also play titles like silent hill remake at a locked 30fps where decks that get heavy usage and went through software tinkering can hardly run the game unless u install some frame gen unlock.

If they don’t want to implement their own AA, they need upsampling like DLSS, FSR, and XESS which will provide AA and also provide better performance.

Don't know what those numbers are but on my steamdeck it runs on high settings with 75% rendering and it looks just fine with fps between 50 and 60 constant. Only at really demanding parts with lots of crowds it drops to 30 but that's just rare

I do wish the text size could be adjusted. I found P3R on Deck had text that was a bit easier to read. It's not a massive deal breaker or anything. I am loving the game on Deck so far!

Over the last week and a half they have been patching it and it plays A LOT better. Still not 60 fps everywhere on Steam Deck, but personally I’d say it’s good enough.

I'm not a graphics person whatsoever, so I watched this whole video just... not really seeing any issues, lol. I'm sure it's super annoying to those that know what they're looking for, but I've just never really cared so it's hard for me to comprehend.

Thanks for speaking out the truth. Its bad, it might be better after updates, but it is bad. 75% rendering scale should never be a required option.

Played on Xbox and my steam deck and honestly the demo played good on both platforms, but I do have friends who play on pc that have been complaining.

I hope they're able to fix it by launch as for me atlus games and handhelds go together so perfectly and I personally don't wanna play on my Xbox ngl

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! ATLUS just acknowledged the problems with the Steam version of the demo and are actively working on a fix! Hopefully this will be fixed by launch!

I hope they have a day one patch planned. I know P3R has raytracing and that caused issues at launch. Also Atlus needs to add DLSS and FSR2 for help with anti-aliasing.

The demo runs good on my pc. I rock a ryzen 5 5600x and an rtx 3070 and i haven't experienced any performance issues. I have it on 1080p maxed out but i did cap it at 90fps just so my gpu won't be at 100% most of the time.

Unfortunately the game bottlenecks incredibly hard and only uses 1 core on a cpu, which leads to a game that only uses about 10-15% of your cpu. Spec K already made a mod to fix the performance but he said it's been 5-6 years since he's seen a port this bad for a game.

Oh man, thats unfortunate. My pc is a monster so the game runs amazing and looks great. But needing a pc like mine to have the optimal experience for a game like this just seems absurd. Hopefully they address with day 1 patch
