Peter has been telling us how the life of a Christian will be difficult and challenging because of trials, persecutions, and sorrows. He brings all of this to the conclusion that we should not be surprised or think it is strange when they come. This message also gives insight into some positive reasons for considering it a privilege when they come!

We are to "agape" love our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is a very high priority in our Christian Life. What does it look like?

We are to arm ourselves with the same mindset as Christ! It is to be like a "baffling wind". We need to be willing to live the opposite way of the world. The baffling way we live gets the attention of those who have not trusted Jesus as their savior and even those who have but don't live the way Christ desires of us! The Heart of 1 Peter is found in chapter 3 verse 15! As we live out our lives in the good or suffering, we do it with such hope, that people will be drawn to ask us about it. Dietrich Bonhoeffer said it this way. "Your life as a Christian should make nonbelievers question their disbelief in God". This message brings out the reality of this!
