Cam Fell & Arten Gill, EMTB
An easy ride but no less rewarding, on wide trails with great views in the Yorkshire Dales. Starting from the Ribblehead Viaduct the route goes SE on the road to Horton in Ribblesdale. Then onto a bridleway over the river Ribble and through a farm where a large flock of sheep were being managed. We moved through them carefully to get through the gate and not let any through. Not long after a stream beckoned a further look as it disappeared into a cave beneath the track.
A climb then leads up to Cam End and NE on to the Pennine way. We then had a good view of some paragliders soaring above, before turning west onto the Pennine Bridleway & Ribble Way track - a delightful meandering descent....

Thirlmere loop from Threlkeld
Просмотров 22721 день назад
A ride around Thirlmere with a mixture of tarmac, tracks, bridleways and with great scenery. Grabbing a weather window and exploring new areas. Nothing especially difficult but some really enjoyable sections of off-road. Gravel bike standard but ridden on EMTB.
Rhosneigr play day, Epic V9

Hoping for some wave action after the previous windy day. A pleasant day’s paddling in the bay, catching a few small rides. Good to be back in the sea on the surfski. If it’s ever too busy in the main bay, the adjoining Cymyran bay is always empty. Plenty of rock-hopping and small remote landings for a break. Rarely flat, there are usually small waves to practice surfing in sea kayaks. Easy bea...
Gatescarth Pass & Mosedale, an epic ride, EMTB

Starting from Sadgill and riding over the Gatescarth Pass, big, hard and long ascent followed by a big hard and long descent. Many “baby head” sized rocks and very loose in places on the descent. A major challenge, not to be underestimated, many would grade it black. Then an easy road alongside Haweswater followed by an off road route to Swindale. The latter part of this proved difficult to fol...
Epic V9 on the north section of Windermere

A paddle on the largest lake in the English Lake District. Gentle conditions but looking for any opportunities for a brief ride on a boat wake. However, there are very few places where one can launch a small craft f...

A quiet part in the west of the Yorkshire Dales, to the north east of Sedbergh and on the southern edge of the Howgills. Mainly low level, but not so easy in places where the outbound terrain included a long stretch of boggy bits and on the way back a long section of unavoidable overgrown bracken and gorse. Around the Great Orme by sea kayak (& Monk’s cave)

A trip around the Great Orme at Llandudno with plenty of wildlife and a couple of bonus treats: some sailing and a hike up to the Monk’s cave. Skiddaw (& Lonscale), an awesome ride, EMTB

The bridleway route up Skiddaw is a brutal climb. I started from the car park at the end of Gale road which is about 300m elevation; Skiddaw summit is at 931m. A hike up the “Cascate di Fanes” waterfalls near Cortina in the Dolomites

“Cascate di Fanes” consists of a cascade of waterfalls that drain the Fanes-Senes-Braies nature park. There are a few paths that follow the course of the river upstream to the two main waterfalls. This was an ambitious route over Passo Gardena from one valley to another. A great mixture of singletrack, trails and using the gondolas and chairlifts that run in the summer.
