You totally got it. I walked the Norte then went Primitivo. I had a similar feeling. I am walking Primitivo again in a few days. You should try the San Salvador. buen camino.

I walked this route 10 days ago and slept in Bendueños. Oh, what a wonderful albergue, Sandra the hospitalera is a wonderful woman.

I personally am glad there isn't so much infrastructure there, it keeps it quiet. I stayed in that witch themed hotel too, I liked it there, good food too!

I LOVED this route. BTW, leaving Leon you could have followed the trail next to the river instead of on the road. It's the same distance, but more nature-y. You mentioned Montreal to Madrid, are you Canadian too? Nice!

You're so lucky with the weather on the hospitales! I was up there in fog, wind, rain, and cold. ...yet I still loved it LOL

Thanks for sharing your journey Irina. I too loved the Primitivo and mountains are definitely my thing (the ocean is nice too, but if I have to choose, yeah, mountains).

Hi Irina. Very nice videos. I'm pretty much enjoying them. Waiting for day 4. I walked the Frances, Via de La Plata and Primitivo (last april), and I'm planning to hike the Salvador next year. Please let me know why the albergue municipal in Pajares was not an option. I'm thinking that going to Llanos the Someron would be a too long stretch for me. Another issue: taking the variant to San Miguel del Rio (I think you've recommended it) doesn't increase the distance? Thanks a lot for sharing this great experience. Greetings from Brazil.

I have stayed in pension mundo twice and have walked the comino sansalvador 3 times i found the pension mundo was one of the best pensions iv stayed in the host was so kind and friendly the room was small but very clean we are pilgrims and were grateful for that experience im doing the comino sansalvador one more time and I will be staying in pension mundo if im lucky enough to get a room buin comino

Thanks for sharing your experience. The albergue at Bendueños is also very good. I stayed there last year. But its 10 km after Llanos, so it's a better option if you stayed at Pajares the night before.

Walk into Lugo is so "bad" on people's feet cause its concrete. not even asphalt, but concrete for many many kilometers. It really does a number of your soles. The day after is supposed to be nice, but with the painful feet I think it is hard to enjoy for many.
