Hmm I dunno, those rolls and those swings still look too fast and crisp and ready to change direction. Plus I saw some DI on the hammer combo when you started hitting the back, moving while max potion… smh 2059 attack seems like awfully high attack power for a freedom unite hunter, and not only is 1016 defense beyond the scope of freedom unite, but because of the changed damage formula it’s effectively 2032 defense-way beyond the pale of a 2nd Gen hunter. Critical Eye+3 used to come with mind’s eye and you don’t have it, smh. Guess you didn’t need it though. Nitpicking aside, good run! 😂

i really like how this tells us that old gameplay styles are still very viable even if not the absolute strongest in terms of damage. obviously theyve put hammer's heaviest hits on the new moves to encourage using them, but this still really looks like a comfortable hunt that consistently keeps it downed.

Was going to comment on the Tigrex Hammer doing Dragon damage, but Layered Weapons and Armor didn't exist then, either, nor Diablos Nero Coil and Greaves Alpha. 🤨

As someone who enjoys sessions of Freedom Unite every so often, I find this supremely satisfying. I think it’s no stranger to say that while the series has never been easier to get into, with being able to move while healing, vastly expanded movesets, and restocking, it’s always had the bones of the older games built on top of it. And that’s not a sleight against modern monster hunter, they’re nice evolutions and quality of life improvements, but I find the older games so unbelievably charming whenever I go back and visit them from the to time. It’s also why I encourage others to try out the older games if they can. It really isn’t as dissimilar as what newer players would initially believe.

This is a great idea for a challenge run, the Xgen challenge, for example this could be called the 2nd gen Challenge and the idea is to play with the moveset of that gen of your choice, a cool idea to replay World while we honor our first MH Game(Freedom Unite in my case).
