    Nice video. I can not figure out this 2:1 or 4:1 mechanical advantage stuff. lol. Does anyone know what the amount of force would be I would have to pull down on the rope in order to lift say a 100 point item? Would lifting a 100 lbs using this pulley system require the ability to pull 50 pounds? If it's 50 lbs, I may need to get a different pulley system as I can only lift comfortably around 20 lbs. I'm disabled, and not looking to left anything heavy. Thanks for any input.

      @bowhuntersworld4948 Месяц назад

      @@Chase1399Aviation I apologize for the late response... the block and tackle used in my demonstration, would be considered a 4:1 .. ie. In the block and tackle itself are 4 ropes that are supporting the load and 1 lead rope.. so in simple terms, for every 1 lb of force applied to the lead rope would be 4 lbs applied to the load. So in your example of a 100lb load, you would need to apply 25lbs to the lead rope in order to lift your 100lb load. That is "in theory", but doesn't take Into consideration things like rope stretch or other very small variables. But in general, you should be able to lift your 100lb load with approximately 25lbs of force. In a 2:1 example you would need 50lbs to lift 100lbs. I hope they made sense enough to answer your question!

      @bowhuntersworld4948 Месяц назад

      @@PatrickLHolley Great Question!! I'm no biologist in any stretch of the imagination, but this is the way that I understand the process... hydrogen peroxide is a disinfectant, which kills bacteria/germs/microbes... Bacteria mixing with your sweat, is what causes you to "stink".. bacteria can also somewhat causes odors on its own.. Hydrogen peroxide is also a powerful oxidizer, also causing it to break down bacteria and other odor causing organics. So the peroxide (make sure to ONLY use 3%) kills the bacteria and the baking soda absorbs the odors. So you're basically killing 2 birds with 1 stone.. I hope that helps!

    I add crushed acorns, fresh pine needles, persimmon, or whatever food source I’m hunting close too. Get as clean and descented as possible, and spray before I enter the woods. I rarely ever have deer notice where I’ve walked in , detect me passing downwind, etc. You’re always producing body odor, and nothing will ever be 100%, but it helps delay how quickly you become a walking scent bomb again.

    Excellent video, thank you for sharing! I have seen a few archers with two silencers on each side of the string. Is there any benefit to doing this? For example, using 1 set with the .183 calculation; then using the 2nd set applying another harmonic calculation.

      @@justynkremblewski1041 thanks for the comment! And compliment! It can be beneficial to add a second set, on the string this will cancel out a second set of harmonic nodes and can/will quiet the string down even more... But you're trading quietness for speed.. the more you add to the string the slower it becomes. Which especially with traditional equipment, I could care less about the speed, but it's definitely a give and take situation.

It has a carbon layer, I assume t has a lot to dowith that. Anyway, I'm considering buying a softer string but boy, I've sure been keeping myself out of the hot sun taking and adding turns on the string and adding, subracting, and moving deadeners. My pleasure! A Flemish twist string is generally quieter vs a continuous loop... And don't be afraid to move one silencer at a time... You may find the quietest spot is 2-3" difference between the upper and lower... A lot depends on the bow and bow/arrow combination

    • @jcarry5214
      @jcarry5214 5 месяцев назад

      @@bowhuntersworld4948 yeah it has probably a Flemish FF on it now, whatever came with it. I might buy a b55 and see what that does. But I tried it again before I went to bed, and it didn’t matter much where I put them but the ping went right away when I took 8 turns out of it, then the dampeners actually started doing something. It’s not as bad if I shoot split but I’m just not consistent day to day like that. But you’re right, moving one at a time shows a lot. it seems it likes them either 8 or 10” from the bottom and 12 from the top. Put them both the same and it gets louder immediately.

    KISS is best as a starting point. Scientific and mathematical approaches are based on homogenous uniform density strings stretched between fixed points whereas no bowstring can be considered as such. Bow string variables in use include non-linear tension, nock-serving, nock-layup, stretch, centre-serving stiffness, mass, location and length with respect to effective string vibration length, neglecting both arrow nock fit and bow limb resonance. The optimal location will depend upon the particular bow, string and arrow configuration. A third or quarter of active vibrating string length applied symmetrically or otherwise seems reasonable to me as the higher order harmonics or overtones will be damped by the assymetry of the string construction. In the absence of reviewing a rigorous scientific study to the contrary, I am inclined to accept the anecdotal recommendations of more experienced traditional archers whose hearing is probably also far better than mine.

    Will try this system. Thanks for showing the correct way. I got a heavy dolly to load up so instead if lifting the low end into vehicle I thought why not use the hinge as anchor and do a pully system. I was going to use another bully on Pinole with a Prusik knot for break. For $16 why not get a complete kit with a brake already. I like that brake because once the heavy end is up I can release brake and push into cargo area, giving slack as I go and let it roll in front wheels. Great deal. Price some rope, 2 dbls w/ attached brake that is a great deal

      Seems like that would work... Thanks for commenting!
