Playing the first cylinder record I ever owned on the first cylinder machine I ever owned

Back in July of 2016, this Amberola 30 was the first cylinder player I bought, along with this copy of “Sailing On The Chesapeake Bay” which I bought at a garage sale in 2013 in anticipation I was gonna eventually buy a machine to play it. When I bought my Amberola 30, I had no knowledge on how to adjust my machine so my first attempt at playing the cylinder caused damage as you can see here. I...

What size tape is that?
@@Mothhole 7inch
Cool Oldradios. ✨👍
Whats that song called?
The Brunswick Concert Band, if I'm not mistaken, I have thus record
@@danielarick2105 you would be correct
ah a girl I knew had a gramophone like this when I was 8. she couldn't play anything on it, but it looked so so beautiful.
it sounds so so beautifully! how much did you pay (I m not from the us so no idea about prices) and how much are they on eBay?
@@Schneeeulenwetter I got this one free from somebody but if you’re looking for any Berliner disc be prepared to PAY
Glad to hear that someone on that forum was helpful. They are dullards who play favourites.
The flip side of Stars and Stripes Forever, I have this record, my copy the label is badly faded, but plays beautifully
Nice! Do you know the artist?
@@perrysphonographsrecords Lawrence Barclay.
What a great piece of history oldradios. Thanks for sharing with us. 😊
I dont understand how that works but it seems pretty amazing. Thx. 😊
it's just like the horns but the sound gets pumped through the tubes
@@oldradiosnphonographs Oh ok I couldn't see the end of tube so didn't realize what you did with it. Put it to your ear?
Brilliant Oldradios. Love it. 😊
I've got that exact same camera! How did you make it work?
do you have the power module or a portable VHS machine to plug it in?
@@oldradiosnphonographs I have neither, just the camera. I'm thinking of getting an EIAJ plug and trying powering it through a power source and watching the eventual output on an oscilloscope to see if it even works (I got it on a flea market some years ago, with my first paycheck lol)
Ook ook ook!!... 🐒
and a eek eek to you!
Don't knock Edison just because of Tesla... Remeber Edison was an American addicted to COCAINE!!
lol love watching the wind up key spin.
Damn! That's some pretty good audio from a tube.
Cool!!!... 🐒
That's is crazy lol gotta love that Uncle Josh laugh.
I amamazed that these are still working and that you’ve found and acquired so many. I guess it’s kind of like me and analog film cameras..
@@flyingo I have the wonderful issue of being addicted to acquiring both. I’m trying to get a new computer I’ve put off for years now so it’s tough not getting something phonograph or camera related but it’s finally got to be done!
@@oldradiosnphonographs I’ve always (just about) built my own computers from parts bought online. Back in the day you could save a ton of money that way.
Fabulous oldradios. ✨✨✨

Beautiful 😍
Excellent 😊

wax cylinder?
Yep.
❤..to see how this device works..😊
Amazong maching. 😊
Serial numbers were often used to report stolen machines in that time. The case change is moreso fascinating.
What is the story with "re-cased in 1901"?
In 1901 the "new style" case with the red banner replaced the 4 latch "suitcase" style and sometimes older 'suitcase' mechanisms like this one from 1899 ended up in later cases either to update the appearance or possibly disguise this machine with the bogus serial number
Beautiful and rare Phonograph. I have this one also 😊
Watched this one again just now. Are they the same machine with different speakers/horns ?
It’s the same machine just different hornd
Oldradios after watching the other one I thought, hang on, Same Banner, but this had a gourd funnel/speaker. Loved it. 😊
What a beautiful machine Oldradios. I can see why they bring you happiness. They make me happy too. 😊
It's exquisite !
VERY GOOD !!!! Loved it. Normal kids and they are talking about their fears, that's wonderful that they can. 😊
This is nightmare fuel and I love it.
You even have the old time scratchy sound. Love it ❤
Mainly happens due to original owners not swapping the needles out of their acoustic machines after a play or two which causes groove damage
@@oldradiosnphonographs Yeah but it has a nostalgic sound.
Absolutely wonderful. ❤
@OLDRADIOS. Where did you get that gem? Beautiful 😍
From my guy on the Talking Machine Forum!
@@oldradiosnphonographs What a score hey !!! 😍
How cool was that. I love watching the tape go around while listening. Nice 😊
I cringe whenever I see super8 negative this scratched and dirty....it is so hard to scan and correct super8 negative.....and that great zoom makes for some shaky footage. Have you ever tried to stabilize super8?
It was filmboy24’s scan and development and of course an amateur camera operator on a limited budget (me) so it’s not perfect. I was trying to save a few bucks.
@@oldradiosnphonographs shoot ektachrome, and have it processed and scanned at Dwayne’s Photo in parsons , Kansas . I scan movie film, but you best deal for super8 is with rose guys… and don’t zoom, get as close as you can. Steady is better
If you haven't already, rebuild the power supply section of this T1515. I was using mine one afternoon, and kept smelling hot candle wax. I then saw a wisp of smoke escape from the machine. The power transformer was almost too hot to touch but not destroyed.
Ohhhh Oldradios I loved that. Exciting stuff. 😊
