@@Rodrigues-xg3ln WRONG, the kopis was first EGYPTIAN (Kopesh). The Hellenics (Greek is a modern term), copied their sword from the Egyptians but both of them were worse in design than the Iberian sword, the Falcata. By the way, you're mixing different ethnicities from the Iberian Peninsula. The FIRST inhabitants of that peninsula were the IBERIANS, then the Basques, and finally the Celts. Portuguese people like you are descendants of the last, CELTS. You have nothing to do with the Iberians except the name of the peninsula in which you live.

I had high hopes for Deepeeka’s “new & improved” line, and for this new version of the Cluny sword. Sadly, this sword was a disappointment. The big issue was the blade. The hardware & scabbard were fine, but the blade was an absolute mess. This thing was wavy as a lake in high winds. And, there as a narrowing in the width in one place on one edge. Looked like someone accidentally set the edge on the wheel end of a belt grinder and ground a depression in the edge. I sharpen my own blades using a belt grinder, and this one was a lot of work, trying to compensate for all the issues with the blade. I finally got a nice edge on it, but the only way I could get that depression out of the one edge would be to re-shape the blade. It looks better after sharpening, but it’s still noticeable. I guess quality control will never be Deepeeka’s strong suit. I”m not sure I can lay down my money for another of their swords, certainly not as long as they keep churning out this kind of trash.

Deepeeka has received very harsh criticisms. Your resilience and improvements on the quality of your swords it's very noticeable and admirable. That aside, I've been hunting for this sword for quite some time and it's just never in stock anywhere, so I got one of your viking swords which I still keep in my collection. I am not a sword expert or anything, but I can see everything in this sword has an improvement from the later version. Only thing I would point out is that the handle looks more cylindrical (probably for practical reasons). But In the first version of this sword, the wire wrapped section had a strong taper (hope I explain myself properly), which it gave the handle character and gothic style of the Era. Watching this video and looking at the all improvements you've I am again looking forward to buying this sword when it's available!

1st and 3rd and very nice ... hopefully they are also fully functional. The 2nd model - similar to Windlass falcata has a bit strange handle. BTW - it would be great to see modernised versions of these swords - a way to combine the ancient and contemporary. I would love to see for instance a Cold Steel kopis machete made into a real - modern sword- no grooves on the blade, nice flat / saber grind, aluminium or bronze scales (to form better protection from side blows), protruding pommel, full tang construction, kydex scabbard. Historic reproductions are fine but modernised versions are much finer and they are more utilitarian. As for the metal I would go with some stainless one - perhaps Elmax or Sleipner but well hardened or with the carbon 5160 steel frequently used in swords. Generally kopis/falcata swords are very much underrated and somewhat pushed aside yet they are better in cutting performance than gladius which is so popular. Furthermore, I would also love to see both historic and modernised versions of the most early swords from Summer or Persia which had a leaf-like structure but more compact than Greek Xiphos - a bit similar to Cold Steel Shanghai Warrior but longer. Xiphos has a wider blade towards the tip and narrower at the hilt but this Sumerian/Persian swords did not have significantly narrower blade at the hilt - just a bit - this made them stronger. I would also ot sharpen them on one side on the 2/3 of the blade and woudl not sharpen them completely towards the hilt on the other side - just up to app. 5 cm before the hilt. Anyway - these are just few thoughts. In any case it would be great to see something like a historical saga of main human blades from the most ancient times: Sumer, Egipt, Persia, Greece, Rome, Europe. Finally, What I would love to see most is the historic and modernised versions of the Native American weapns. Again Cold Steel has for instance the Gunstock war club but it is made from ... plastic - crazy ! One can say - its modern - yes but useless when trying to use it when escaping fire of the house. I would love to see modernised gunstock club made form metal and historic one from wood. Lastly. Native Australian weapons also deserve attention.

Nice. This version is much better than the one you had before. The grip has seen the most amount of attention for improvement. The crossguard could still use a bit of taper, meaning the width and thickness of the both quillons can be a bit thinner and narrower near the grip/blade, the width and thickness near the quillon terminations seem fine as they are. The blade of the Cluny Museum longsword is more triangular than this version of yours, but your profile isn't bad, just leaning for towards a type XVIIIb than a XVa. I would suggest a bit more distal taper--40% percent seems a reasonable compromise. While I'm not advocating for an Albion quality sword for this price range, there could be a few changes that require minimal effort, but improves the overall quality of the sword drastically. If you could do that, marketing it at a higher price would be absolutely acceptable.

We have a very light distal taper. If you are looking for a 40%- we have not gotten there yet.

It is a full tang construction, if that was your question. No rat tails. There is a little bit of distal taper of about 30%.
