Air New Zealand Boeing 777-300ER (ZK-OKR) arriving into and departing out of Rarotonga, Cook Islands. Lots of water being kicked up on application of reverse thrust. Turn up the sound for the takeoff as the GE90's lift this magnificent aircraft into the skies for the trip home to Auckland (AKL), New Zealand.

That noise that you can hear coming from the Jetstar A320 is the brake fan on the outside wheel of the main undercarriage. There is an American Airlines maintenance guy based at LAX ,who posts videos of his shift on youtube: Stig Aviation. Some of his videos show close ups of these. Yes your right that Air New Zealand's A320's don't have them.

So good seeing the 777 up close! Is it only Air New Zealand that fly big jets in there? Never been to the Cook Islands before - might need to change that...
Certainly a sight to behold up so close. Air NZ are the only airline to fly widebodies into Rarotonga. Jetstar fly the A320/A321 and Hawaiian also fly an A321. Highly recommend a visit. Beautiful country and the people are so friendly & welcoming. Thanks for watching!

Just found out that air NZ is actually operating these on this route. I know the economy and community connections between the Cook Islands and New Zealand, but are these flights regularly full? Or are they just operating it for the cargo capacity of the 777?
From what I can tell, the flights are full yes. Lot of demand out of NZ especially in the winter.

This is why the Dreamliner is the best aircraft. I hope that Air New Zealand will be looking at releasing some 787-10’s to the fleet
