Stop Overthinking and Start Living
In this simple yet profound story, a male monkey teaches his female companion an important lesson about life: sometimes, trying to explain everything only distances us from the beauty and flow of life. When they meet a centipede who struggles to explain how it moves, the male monkey points out how overthinking can make us forget how to live. The sunset, like many things in life, is beautiful beyond explanation - and the more we try to analyze, the more we miss its beauty. This story reminds us to let go of the need to know everything and to simply live in the moment. Life is not a puzzle to be solved but a mystery to be experienced.

The very reality that satan, the devil, Lucifer doesn’t exist proves he does. Can you think of a more superior way to deceive. Lucifer, only a fallen angel, appeals to the ego in what we see, hear, smell, touch, and feel emotionally as being all that there is…which is a total lie. Buddha had transcended the ego and Jesus’s atonement also transcends the falsehood of an ego therefore neither could not be tempted. Once you realize that all is God and that all that you see, hear, smell, touch, and feel IS God then the concepts of god, a buddha, the devil cease to exist and the true nature of no-self is realized in I AM that who you are. You are that who I AM. Then peace and happiness become and are your natural state of being. It’s called by many enlightenment 😊 Be still and know that I AM God. No-thing is separate from the whole.
Thanks
Actually it was not devil.. it was the temptations or emotions that every person faces during meditation.. like anger lust and many more its like test.. but once we pass this illusion we get enlightenment..
Buddhism has no devil. They have Mara who is the representation of one’s ignorance and doubt.
❤
I think that the devil may have learn somthing from buddha
Gracias.
That is today's religious leaders and many politicians in this world.

Wonderful Dharma story. Thank you for this. The only thing out of place in this video is the angry man driving in a car to meet the Buddha.
If i see this in metaphorically way, Buddha came across the devil and his disciples has to be Anger, Lust, Greed, Attachment etc. Buddha might be reflecting The Consciousness, and the devil here is the Ego self. It wanted to switch bodies means taking over the Control but Buddha was in meditation form which means he was observing everything instead of reacting...Although I didn't understand Buddha's reply in this context, but it might be something related to getting triggered by what you didn't said or do because as a wise buddha you don't care but the devil would.
Your metaphorical interpretation is spot on. Indeed, the Devil can be seen as the embodiment of the Ego, and his disciples-Anger, Lust, Greed, Attachment-are the forces that try to pull us into identifying with the lower self. In this sense, the Devil isn’t just an external figure but represents the inner struggle we all face between the Ego and the higher self. Buddha, as you rightly point out, represents Consciousness-the awakened state, where awareness exists without attachment or reaction. The Ego, on the other hand, thrives on control and validation, constantly seeking to manipulate the mind and body to gain power. When the Devil offers to switch roles, it symbolizes the Ego’s attempt to take over the mind, steering the individual into reacting and identifying with desires and impulses.

Always loved this analogy. However, at least from an Abhidharma Buddhist perspective, I would say that the Buddha can see the whole elephant. The Abhidharma Buddhist idea is that we are nothing more than subatomic particles and momentary events of consciousness. Other descriptions, like calling myself a human and my dog an animal--these are all conventions. Ultimately, there is no human or dog; these are both just heaps of subatomic particles and momentary events of consciousness. So, I always interpreted this analogy from an Abhidharma Buddhist perspective, and see it as saying that multiple theories can be true despite their differences, it's just the context determines each theory's truth-value. Obviously, from the elephant's leg, the elephant is like a tree, but that is not true for its tail. And yet the tail is true too as it is a separate context from the elephant's leg. So the elephant is like a tree in its legs and like a rope with its tail. I've always wondered if this elephant parable could be used to reconcile the different Abhidharma and early Buddhist schools and rather than the Sarvastivada and Sautrantika contradicting each other, the two could maybe complement each other instead.

kindness and respect don't solve conflict with people who act in bad faith. but it is true we can't take words back. karma will be karma. it helps to see words as double edged swords. will your confrontation be effective at resolving an issue, or will it simply project back badly on you? in my experience there is no rational answer, because most people judge irrationally anyway. humans tend to ignore their own flaws through cognitive dissonance whilst projecting their self hatred onto others instead.
