Secondary Swarms as queens start to hatch: Part 2 of the swarm story video.
An update on the bees, 2 weeks after the initial swarm these smaller swarms are carrying virgin queens. I was able to catch all of these in a 5 gallon bucket, and transfered them into their own hive. The hive I thought was queenless actually does have a queen laying so now we have six hives total! Swarming is a natural way to control mites and allow the strongest bees to thrive into the next year.

A look at my favorite communal setup I keep, a pair of female prickly or Bynoe's geckos are living in their desert setup with two smooth and one blue death feigning beetle. The beetles cleaned up the tank after their first week, and now I just throw in a piece of carrot or apple when feeding the geckos their weekly red runners.

What do u use for making those liquid that you pour?
I have my first ever mantis(this is the first ever molt) and i noticed the molt laying on the bottom of the enclosure, should I be concerned? Any advice?
Do you put the insect face down or up??
hi, what is your process before encapsulation to preserve the insect so that it does not spoil inside the resin? or simply encapsulating it avoids it?
Do mantis bite?
Spiders with those big squishy abdomens are often the hardest
Cool 😎🆒 Video 📸!!!
Are you still out here? You have a great voice by the way you could probably make a million views just talking. Really soothing. Moving forward. I want to do tropical fish. I want to be able to submerge them in a resin sphere. I cannot find any videos on this topic.. I can only find videos about the disc type resins to submerging I want to be able to use the spheres. Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Hope to hear back from you..TJ
I found a dead bumblebee in the back of my jeep. Is there a way I can paint it with something so I can use it in an art project? Not in a cube or anything just gently go at it with a tiny brush.
How did you know he was about to molt?
New to your channel. That was awesome. I laughed so hard. I'm a full time RVer in Montana and well, RVs are known to attract flies. Every year I catch a manny and bring it in for bug control and when the flies aren't as bad I let them go via releasing into my flower garden. These lil guys are the best fly control ever!!! They are happy as clams being moved between the 2 windows the flies amass to. Love from Montana.❤
They are unzipping their coat ! I breed these guys and this is amazing footage. 🪳🪳🪳
Does it work with uv resin as well?!
This is so cool I found a natural passed away honey bee I want to preserve I’m getting the stuff this weekend
I am knot bugging out. So creative
So interesting. It doesn't bug me at all. Who does the music?
I like the video but the tone quality makes it hard to understand
How quick are they ? I really like them reminds me of a jumping spider but im scared of loosing them i have a chiliean rose and a Panama blonde

This video saved my mantis! Thank you so so much!❤❤❤
I like it I just got 2 babies about 1” long very small have them together in a nice tank Like yours it’s a 25 gallon have 3-4 hides plus if they want to burrow got them from the same place so I’m hoping they can get along any tips would be appreciated and great video I’ll do one once they come out just put them in their new house 🏡
What are those little bugs crawling on it? Are they dangerous to the roach?
No, they help keep their exoskeleton clean.
I breed wide horned hissing cockroaches. The death heads are interesting. Are they like Dubias ? I was breeding them for awhile, but I found it difficult constantly maintaining their heat. I live in North Dakota. It isn't the warmest climate ! Lol.
Beautiful. It took me awhile to get used to cockroaches. I can handle them now. I am now a breeder of hissing cockroaches. I am selling them as pets only. The Elliptorhina javanica is my favorite ! They are quite stunning and quite gentle. Thanks for this video. I subbed your channel.
Just found one of these in my back yard. Very beautiful but kinda nasty. Wish I could post photos….
Why don't your mantis attack each other? Isn't that what they'll normally do ???
Does freezing the scorpion kill it??? I wanna kill a scorpion I found tdy and put it in risen mold and ya but I'm still a beginner so some1 please answer
I've heard some ways to keep their color is to brush them with nail polish first before encasing them in resin is this true or are there other ways?
Hi friendly reminder, according to the internet and the sellers you need at least wait 3 day after your mantis molt till you and touch or handle it because even the mantis look fine their skin are still soft
Do you need to do something to process the bodies before casting? I've heard that putting anything with moisture in resin is a bad idea and can cause it to grow mold, discolor etc.
depends on the insect and its thickness. i tend to either pin them into the shape i want and leave them open in the freezer for a few months (what i mean by “out of the freezer” at the beginning) if i am concerned about color, or just pin them and let dry if they are thinner. bigger critters like tarantula, large mantises, or roaches need gutted if you dont have time to freeze-dry. but also the parts i am using in the video (wings and pronotum) are fine as-is
I see, thank you so much for the response. I have a tiny jumping spider that I want to memorialize in resin, but his abdomen is way too small to be gutted and re-stuffed. What would you recommend doing? I did some searching and ppl said that the exothermic nature of resin curing can cause the abdomens to burst if they're put directly into resin. @@ArthropodAmbassadors
Thank you for video. Best wishes.😮😮😮😮😮😊😊😊😊😅😅😮😮😮
How do you keep multiple species of isopods together without one out-competing the other??
they would end up w a winner if given enough time and low resources, so it is best to have pure colonies and add both to a display tank.
How long would you say they live after molting like this?
Would it be a good idea to pour a little 1st then insert specimen to avoid air pockets underneath?
Where did u get the molds?
I want to see what you do to the newly dead insect before putting it into the resin.
sometimes pin them into a good position and let them sit open to the air, if i am worried about color i put the pinned setup into a freezer open to the air. i have also used my freeze dryer. or just use the position they are in. there should be lots of content on YT about pinning and ‘relaxing’ insect specimens:)
Thank you, I have a subadult in premoult, i thought that was what's happening, but it's been a few days since she started looking like she was going to moult, and I thought it should've happened by now, and I was starting to get nervous of it!
yep, those few days before molting can for sure cause high anxiety!
How long is this process
about 10-15 mins usually
I never thought to use death feigning beetles as a clew up crew, especially for a smaller species of lizard but I guess it makes sense. Have you ever had any issues with the beetles chewing on the lizards?
Impressive set up! I keep saying for years now that I'm gonna get an exotic but then get too intimidated lol. Been a mantis mommy for 4yrs now. It's ALWAYS fascinating seeing what each species is capable of learning. Mine become so used to being handled that they let me pet them and even let me give them kisses...which is very strange to people until they see how sweet they are lol. I train mine as well. They are amazing critters with an actual capacity for love and learning. I think the only thing holding me back from getting one of these is their lifespan and tendency towards going into threat pose. I heard somewhere that the giant species don't even make it to a full year. My first mantis, Fluffy, was an amazingly sweet lil' girl that lived to be almost 15 months!!! I always come back to this video and pay close attention to what you do bc I really want to raise one of these gorgeous gentle giants soon. Plus, they really do look amazing and like little aliens lol. You're one of the best mantis mommies I have ever seen on the platform!
Aww they’re so cute!!
Is that a little refilling water bowl? would you be able to share where you got it from! Seems like a great idea for babies that can dehydrate so quickly
I love my Spiny Flower mantis! Her name is Kitana
may u get same life after death 😂
Do you know where I can buy one from?
I have a question what is your choice of resin please thanks
shes a preservation queen and nice with it nice video imma do this for my son definitely
So nice yes I like it
I have learned the hard way how important that first hour is to stop the insects or flowers from floating up. Also I needed to put my wasp upside down in my mold 🤦🏻♀️
I found a deceased bee today in the choir loft of my church; scooped him up not knowing what I’d do with him. I think I’ll try this! I may have yet another hobby!
