Great work
Are we just gonna ignore the kid in the backgound?
whats the point of the ball if you are still overextending your arm
Really good stuff here. Well done!
This is not how you slot the barrel. The slot is caused by different actions. Here they are. The legs begin to rotate then the pelvis then the hips then the torso. As the hips violently rotate the elbow slots to keep up with the hips. The elbow then brings the hands and make them turn rearward. This drill makes you have a push swing where if you want to hit it good it has to be far up front and it will be to the pull side. Most likely it’s gonna be a fly out or a ground ball. Also the barrel cuts across the body so far forward that the barrel isn’t it the zone for that long and leaves quickly causing it to be hit to the pull side or missed. Watch Bryce Harper or Mike trouts swing. The elbow slots which brings the hands and turns them rearward and don’t cut the barrel across the body. There barrels are in the zone for a longer time which helps to hit to the opposite field and also helps hitting higher velocities. Hope this helps.

@@LairdsTraining look if I didn’t explain it clearly there’s an article on Google called the slot vs the push by Zach jones
I get how you think this is funny because you’ve been teaching the same thing for years. But come on open your eyes. No major leaguer that’s good does this.
Correct, maybe he’ll show how to train the proper movement instead of merely what it looks like in the next vid 👍
What is it off a stalker?
Nice and clear and to the point.
The Portal era dude...
You are stepping towards the left handed hitters box
The more the shoulder has to stay with the ball. Thank you bro
I see Bryce Harper do this drill. Works for him.
Sure, this vid is 7 years old, but if you’re here looking for tips, avoid this one. There was a time when hands hitting was heavily coached, but taking the knob to the point of contact - and that’s what you’re doing when you take the knob to a ball on a tee - is going to create a push rather than a whip. “Taking the knob to the ball” really means taking the knob to the pitcher; this will keep the hands behind the ball and, when combined with hip explosion, create a big contact zone while also allowing the barrel to lead the swing. The front arm pulling that knob to the pitcher should be bringing the top hand along for the ride.
This kid is 11/12 years old. He’s not Aaron Judge looking for teacherman to help him with a very specific aspect of the swing. This kid isn’t strong enough to “whip” the bat. It’s about learning a swing path that is efficient. There are multiple ways to get a result in hitting a baseball. There is no “one size fits all” method.
On that five tools... if you have a couple that are absolutely tremendous, especially if one is hitting ... you don't need to have all 5. For anyone who disagrees, vlad guerrero graded low defensively and athletically in the draft, but was given a perfect score for hitting by scouts. And was a high draft pick. Proof that if you can really really hit ... you don't need to be a fast runner or great defensive player.
Pushy, not turning the barrell. Will run into problems if he continues to do this.
Kid in the back is working correctly
Gotta keep the weight back...
Thanks for the advice on this baseball hitting tip!
Sick!
What an innovative drill! Does the inside of his right foot go a little over the rubber or just snug agains it? Thank you
I think you are wrong , swing movement should begin with torso rotation, which will automatically move your top , from that movement your eyes and brain will work according to the las register in your eyes , arms and hand will work in a auto mode , hope you don’t take it personal and be open to do your own research , and if I am wrong will be a good chance to learn something new , so I am open to hear your opinion deeper in case you need to
Most kids are beyond willing to talk and communicate. Maybe YOU should take a look in the mirror and see they don't wanna communicate with you.
Thanks so much for yourself. Great message. I agree 100%!!
As far as switching teams in travel ball the coaches are no longer loyal or willing to develop talent. So why should kids and parents be loyal to coaches who aren’t loyal themselves. It’s not just the kids and parents the coaches as well aren’t putting in the work. I once showed up to a tournament out-of-state and the coach pulled in 6 visiting players we’d never seen before. They played a number of our kids sat the entire wk
Agreed 💯 With the explosion in numbers of travel teams everywhere. Bad, inexperienced, selfish coaches are more evident. We are just in year 2 and boy have we witnessed some bad interactions.
not true it’s all about ur form and how u hit it i hope this is a joke 😑😑
Awesome short lesson!
Except he is leaning over at his waist as he moves the away ball from home plate. He literally falls/losses balance over home plate after last tee adjustment. Explanation is good.
Well in that case he was just trying to prove a point but nobody should ever swing at that pitch in a game he was just showing how he could still get barrel and stay inside the ball even when it is way off the plate
Oh very helpful

What a silly way to measure with radar. Try riding a bike towards the gun and then throwing.
Great video
Flawed thought on dumping the barrel
Arthritis in left arm when hes 50
Elbow, wrist, shoulder arthritis when these kids are 45.
Gv
Good discussion (I’m late to the party it’s august) I’m tired of the launch angle approach with the launch angle tees, etc. Let’s raise some complete hitters and maybe there will be a more complete mlb look.
Great video helped my 10 year old.
Thank you for this. My son is 7 and is struggling with this concept. He starts at stance with knob at catcher but once he loads and goes into launch, the barrel gets very flat and the knob is high at sky when he attacks. Think this is creating a lot of grounders. Will try this drill!
That’s a solid! 👊
I got the pitching accuracy but not the the speed I wish here in London they had training coaches so they help me build of my fast ball and teach me the curve balls 😑🙁
Don’t give up keep throwing it’s all about dedication and working with what u got.

thank you for this
What are the dimensions of this cage?
Amen!!!
Whats the hitter height/weight?
Me wishing i had a gym like that
This is so helpful. My son was just telling me his elbow hurts when he throws.
I loved your vid so much. I've been trying to look for a RUclips video similar to yours that explains the ideas in this RUclips video! That tip at 1:32 is smart. Your video is like the content of Doctor Ethan. His videos are actually helpful and I learned a lot for diet. He is a informative Doctor in Nottingham. You should check out his YT out and give the med student a subscribe! ➡️ #DoctorEthanStudent
