Hi, I'm Frank, I'm from Rotterdam and I like music.
From an early age I was fascinated by old pop music (the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, the Eagles, Eric Clapton) and Cuban music (Buena Vista Social Club, Eliades Ochoa, Compay Segundo).
Around the age of ten I started to play the guitar. My dad and I used to sit together in the evenings and play and sing some of these pop or Cuban songs.
It was during one of the many summers spent in the south of Spain and because of some good Spanish friends who showed me Paco de Lucía, Tomatito and Camarón de la Isla, that I knew I wanted to play flamenco.
So, at the age of 14, I started to take flamenco guitar lessons with Thijmen Sprakel and in 2014 I started to study Flamenco Guitar with Paco Peña, Ricardo Mendeville & Alexander Gavilán at Codarts, the conservatory of Rotterdam.
After graduation in 2019, I spent a few years teaching Spanish and not playing the guitar. But I missed it too much. So here we are.

About the author:
Manuel Moreno Junquera (Moraíto Chico) was born in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain on the 13th of september 1956. He was considered one of the main figures in the evolution of the flamenco guitar. He was the nephew of flamenco guitarist Manuel Morao who was one of his main influences. Moraíto recorded 2 solo albums: "Morao y Oro (1992)" and "Morao, Morao (1999)" and collaborated with many other flamenco artists, such as José Mercé, Juan Moneo and Niña Pastori. His son Diego del Morao is also a flamenco guitarist.

@@frankverhoef gaat goed hier, helaas geen spaans meer omdat ik in 2e en 3e niks heb gehad en als ik het nu zou kiezen moet ik 2 jaar achterstand alleen wegwerken maar ik had het wel gekozen als ik die achterstand niet had. Maar ja nu maar duits kiezen misschien als ik wat ouder ben ga ik zelfstudie doen met spaans maar dat zien we dan wel. Maar verder hoop ik dat het leuk is daar in spanje en ook warm volgens mij nu.
