Personally ,I don't think that historical school is a reaction against natural law. In no way it opposes natural law , this school itself talks about customs and past historical outcomes which is somehow supportive of natural law. Henry maine- says that law is made by the king and the king act under GOD . So natural law and historical school , i dont think is inconsistent , in fact they are supplementary.
they are against natural law. As Savigny says law arises out of good consciousness of society i.e traditions, custom and beliefs irrespective of goodness or badness in it. So the scholars criticize him saying in this way you are giving validity to slavery and racial discrimination. So the historical school is against Natural law.
