What if we have multiple subscriptions containing multiple VMs?
Just make sure that the vm is connected to the DCR and alerts are setup on the workspace where your DCR is sending the data to. Thay way you can connect multiple VMs across different subscriptions.
I want to monitor only particular disk means how we can mention. Like only I need to monitor only C and E drive. D drive no need to monitor how to mention this. Please help me
Hi @kannamani9373, like in 07:48 timestamp of video just unselect the Drives which you do not want to monitor in this case D and save the alert. By this you won’t get notified for D drive alerts.

I have 10 vm in my subscription but I want to create CPU alert for only 6 VM. How to exclude rest of 4 vm from scope ? (Here we have selected all virtual machine in subscribtion )
Just select the VMs you want to setup alert for in the scope section of the CPU alert.
Issue: Created memory alert for the My windows VM using performance counter metrics ''% Committed Bytes In Use''. But I received alert showed as Average_% Committed Bytes In Use is crossed 80% and 90% respectively. But when I check it from Task manager of the server, only 50% of memory used. Seems it shows false alert. As committed Bytes not a actual RAM (memory). Can you help to resolve the issue?
Siva, this is a log alert and can take time to get from VM to log analytics workspace and then alert processing. During the time you go and check inside the VM the alert may be already be resolved. I checked at my environment alert is working fine.
Let me know if a call needs to be scheduled to check this.
But Windows it does not show disk name whether C drive or D drive ? It shows as Total... Is there any way to show disk name?
Yes, siva if you have window VMs connected to the log analytics workspace this will show you the disk name as well like C,D,E, etc. in the alert. One more thing how can we verify this is go to workspace>logs and then search with Perf you will be able to see the disk there as well. If yes then the alert should work fine.
@@CloudWithAarya thanks for your response. I checked Perf in log Analytics. But shows only shows _Total as instance Name. Not showing C and D drives of my windows VM.
@@sivab2417 Found the culprit behind this.. Go to your DCR>Data Sources>Performance Counters. In data source, custom add the following values: 1. \LogicalDisk(*)\% Free Space 2. \LogicalDisk(*)\Free Megabytes click on add then save. Wait for 15-20 minutes and check if after these changes different drives are coming or not. Let me know😊.
