IKE & TINA TURNER REVUE (Solid Gold Soul Collection) Documentary

IKE & TINA TURNER REVUE (Solid Gold Soul Collection) Documentary
I always say that it is a shame that their personal life situations overshadowed what they did individually and as whole in the music 🎶 industry
Children, let the dead be at peace. There is nothing else to be said!
That “blonde” singer is stuttering like a coke head - shame she didn’t interview clean rather than flashing unnecessary cleavage! Ladies of a certain age need to cover up certain parts to be considered “a lady” - but on the bright side she wiped her nose before starting talking…. Wow, why would you want to miss out living with these people.
William didn’t sing falsettos. He was all natural.
Thanks for some of the Truth?I thought that Magic word was missing in the video but after back Up and listening careful, It was mentioned a few times?💯🤔The more i listen it reveals allot more of the hidden secrets that can't be meantioned in the videos in depth?? Time's getting hard need a little change?? God bless everyone! Now I know why I always made it to that Big door and couldn't open for reasons unknown then, But are clear Now?The spirit of protection was always there!
They love talking about Ike being so generous but they don't mention that half of that money was Tina's which he never gave her any control over.
That movie was nothing more than the demonization of the Black male. I don’t believe Ike acted like that 😢
Okay, so this is Ike's side of the story?! Okay! So Ike did had kids aside from the sons he had with Lorraine Taylor and Tina Turner.
Only for Ike and Tina I would watch, 3:09:40 min. It is nice to hear input from others that is not the same old recycled stories.
those of us who are hardcore fans are craving more live cd/dvd material from the vaults of Ike Turner . wish the children will release some more of that from the vaults
I wish Ike and Tina had reconciled before they passed. I get that ike did a lot of horrible things to Tina but he did apologize. I think it would’ve been amazing to see them both on stage older, just one last time.
Lots of abusers apologize, only to repeat the process (if the person they abused goes back,Tina forgave him when she left.
Im glad she said it, that was a common lifestyle in them days; Meanwhile, if tina never wrote that book, shed still be a hit, yall got to remember, it was young people in the 80s who were buying her records, young people who had no idea what an ike & tina was; great video
Tina's past would have still been told if she didn't have a book on her life story and becoming successful. The dark side of the media would have dug into it. So it was best she told it herself. Tina said that she thought coming out with the book would put an end to people asking her about what happened with her and Ike, but instead, it made it worse because that's all people wanted to talk about.
He said he was getting hit with shoes too, omg 👀😹👀 forgive for laughing, but that cracked me up
Omg, yes that movie was such a bad piece of work, even tina was blown away, i dont know how her manager allowed her to sign off the rights of her book to Disney without any Guidance, all that being said, Ike literally created Tina Turner, shed still be Anna Mae, like it or not; may they both RIP ⚘️⚘️
It’s so sad when people die that out comes all the secrets yet while alive no one had nothing to say? Tina was a strong woman in a toxic environment I don’t know where she got the strength from to put up with Ike’s bullying I loved how she one day had enough and left with only what she had with her she knew it was her time, I’m sure Ike deep down was a good person he was just messed up from drugs and power and the wrong people advising him, they were both great artists I just wish their lives had been better for them and their kids, may they both continue to RIP and their troubled life stay closed as they are not here to answer to any of it so people should respect that & stop arguing over things they can’t change it’s done
I think you’re being a bit cynical. I think the truth lies with Tina, not somewhere in the middle between Tina and Ike. Ike admitted a lot of things himself, although never fully took responsibility. Tina was not estranged from all her family either. She was very close to her sister and one of her sons in particular. Some of the kids were not actually hers, and had their share of problems. She tried to help them all. She and Ike were always on the road so they were raised a lot by nannies. As for the truth about their relationship, her side of the story including Ike’s brutality, has been widely corroborated by many of the folks that were there. Ike was a talented man, but a hyper controlling, brutal personality. And a huge drug addict who ended up in jail because of his spiralling addictions. She actually didn’t like all the discussion about her domestic violence but journalists kept on talking about it. You’re right that their musical influence and performance ability has been under-rated because of the focus on their relationship.
Did Ann Thomas ever Apologize to Tina
Gamble, huff, and bell definitely made R&B sound better
They made what's love got to do with it. Made Ike look good he was a lot worse than that. I'm in the heaven's we don't lie over here. U R the devil's daughter. I took Ronnie off the planet so he would not repopulate. Only good is coming to the heaven's. Not U.
Mia you and Eddie get together. Please get your copy of Rolling Stones magazine Ike is on pg 19-21. I gave him his props. I will always do what's right. Ike was nut that's the truth. 👁️ Am.. not was. You and Eddie are nuts. I don't know either one of you stop lying.
I had the privilege of playing guitar for William, Wil and Randy during the mid 70’s what a wonderful experience. William Hart was a great dude, masterful singer and entertainer
Great vid.🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'm from Hammond Indiana I've loved you since I was 17 now I'm 71 Still Love you ❤️ Rest In Heavenly Peace 🕊️🕊️
It's interesting to hear from their family members. Tina was estranged from her family, even her grandchildren. Everyone else can't always be in the wrong. I believe like most celebrities, Tina carefully crafted her image. As she reinvented herself, being portrayed as a battered spouse who never did anything wrong and only fought back once then ran for freedom wanting nothing but her name is a profitable narrative. Even people who may not like her music will still feel sympathetic towards her. I've read Tina's book and Ike's book. I believe the truth is somewhere in between. Ultimately, Ike didn't appreciate Tina and that was his loss. He learned that the hard way. It would be nice to get a real authentic and unbiased documentary on Ike and Tina. Their story has become folklore but their influence is underrated. There's not enough discussion on Ike's innovation, like how he became a successful bandleader as a black man in the 1950s or the talented blues musicians he discovered for white record executives. There's not enough discussion on Tina and the Ikettes setting the standard for female performers by incorporating high energy dance routines. People don't talk about how Tina was a sex symbol of the 1960s and 1970s. People don't talk about all the songwriting Tina did in the 1970s or that she kept her songwriter royalties as part of her divorce agreement with Ike. People don't discuss enough that Ike and Tina were global ambassadors for soul music in their heyday. I can acknowledge their dysfunctional relationship and appreciate their talent. It's a shame that their influence often gets overlooked.
Yes to all of this!!! 💯👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Well said
Perfectly stated!💯💖But she they forgot are just didn't feel like taking the risk of discussion that dark side of the biz that influence a lot of that behavior with the Ego's to gain and keep that fame?Tell the whole truth? I know what it was!
Wow to know that he started in my hometown of Tidewater Virginia which included Newport News, is so surprising, that is why I was and still is in love with the Delfonics music
This is awesome... Thank you for sharing.
❤
Amazing story and beautiful collection
I really enjoyed this long live William hart and the delfonics music
I used to live in West Philly. Went to school there 8th, 9th and 10th grade. For the 3 years I lived in Philly, I had some good times there. During my stay there, 2 of my favorite groups were the Delphonics and the Intruders. I never thought either of these groups would make it big time like that. To this day, I still listen to the music of both of these groups. RIP William Hart!! 🗣♊️👤Rising
Rest in peace William
Mia wasn’t truly acknowledged by her dad. She was one of many children with various mistresses. Ike acknowledged Michael, Ronnie, Craig (adopted)Ike jr, and that was about it. He never paid too much mind to any of the others. Mia wasn’t there. She talked like she was there but she’s relying on hearsay to formulate her ideas.sadly for all his genius, Ike turner has substance abuse issues and mental health issues as well.
Mia was there but she was young. There are photos of Mia with Tina in the early 1970s. I read old interviews where Mia was counted as one of Tina's children. After Ann Thomas had Mia she returned to work for Ike and Tina. Mia and Ann Thomas are in the documentary Ike & Tina On the Road: 1971-72. Ann Thomas was with them until the end. She was in the car with them when they had their last fight. She then married Ike herself years later. I'd love to hear from her since she was very close to Tina and Ike.
Not interested about Ike No need for this He died in disgrace Wife beater, druggie
His daughter is so delusional. 2 things can be true at the same time. Yes your father was a great father to you and acted a certain way around you as a little girl. Yes he gave Tina her start. Yes he was extremely talented. However he was also extremely abusive to not only Tina but to MANY OTHERS AROUND HIM???? Tina's story has never changed up untill her death. Word for word. Detail after detail. You think she just made up the fact about the first time he beat her was in 1960 when she was pregnant with Ronnie and he beat her with a wooden shoe stretcher? Then after whooping her ass he made take off her clothes and get on the bed and he then had sex with her. As her face was rapidly swelling and bleeding. He ended up creating a pattern of that. Having sex with her after beating her. She couldn't tell him no so technically it was rape. That's why they created that fake rape scene in the movie, to give the idea of what sex with Ike was like for so long. He also beat your mother Mia. Broke her arm. Why do you think they eventually divorced? Plus Craig bless his heart, had serious emotional problems from his mama getting beat by Ike. He cried in those interviews Mia. And Ike Jr knows the truth. Craig said y'all would hide under the covers when he would be beating Tina behind their locked bedroom door. They had nightmares about it. Ike Jr knows that Craig was not lying when he would hold his head down the next morning when Tina would appear in the kitchen all swollen and disfigured. Literally face DISFIGURED. Craig was there when ike threw Hot coffee in Tina's face. He didn't like Craig cuz he knew Tina was more close to him because of his bio dad. Which was IKE best friend from Mississippi. Ronnie looked just like Ike.. a reminder of pain. Craig looked just like his handsome dad, a reminder of romance. These ppl literally wanted Tina to stay knowing Ike was beating her. Beating her with Wire clothes hangers. Sticking out cigarettes in her nose. And the infamous cake scene didn't happen the way portrayed in the movie. In real life it was worse! He made her eat a whole pound cake as he watched... And she wasn't even hungry!!!! Lawd bless you Anna Mae!!!! You made it through!! Your solo career was even more successful. You reached true Nirvana!
Tina's story changed a bit through the years. Every time she had a new project to promote she happened to remember more details. In the 1980s she claimed sex wasn't the issue with Ike but in her last book she said sex was a kind of rape. She used to say she was not a victim and she didn't like being portrayed as weak but then she continued to victimize herself for decades. Tina said she was done talking about Ike in 2013, but then continued to talk about him until her death. She remained resentful because she never got closure. If Ike had given her the alimony, child support, and property she wanted she probably wouldn't have created such a one-sided narrative of their relationship. You can look at Tina's face and see she was not disfigured. If she had burns on her face there would be scars. I don't that she ever had injuries after one of their fights but the extent of the violence in their relationship has been greatly exaggerated. Craig had other issues that probably tormented him like having an emotionally distant and absent mother. Whatever issues he has with Ike seem to have been resolved at the time of his death. Craig attended Ike's funeral. Tina didn't even have a funeral. It speaks volumes that she didn't have some kind of memorial service with her surviving kin in attendance. Her family didn't even participate in her last documentary. I'm sure they were tired of Tin berating their deceased father/grandfather for decades even after he died. She never cared to think about how her actions affected her family. Tina knew she was more articulate than Ike and had a bigger platform. She didn't talk about the offer she made to Ike to continue performing with him during their divorce proceedings. If Ike was so bad to women he wouldn't have remained good friends with a few of his ex-wives, including Mia's mother Ann Thomas. Ike had issues but most people who were around Tina and Ike say they didn't witness violence. Some even claim that Tina was the violent one. She did choose to stay with him all those years and as the old saying goes, water seeks its own level.
@@bluesugar58 STFU 🤡 why in the hell would Tina think about how her actions affected her family when her family didn't do a damn thing to help her??? Tina's stories NEVER changed. And as far as ppl not seeing him hit her duhhhh he never did it in front of ppl. They knew because the next day she would show up disfigured behind glasses.. Ike was a coward. And all them ppl like Ann Thomas stayed friends with Ike even after she use to have to hide canes and walking sticks from him because he would beat her with them. He even broke that woman's arm.

Mr Jackson begged the Delfonic's manager to let the the Jackson 5 open for them in Chicago. He ask William to teach MJ how to be a star and man and how to carry himself. I was a Delfonic fan and was close to William and Wilbur. William introduced me to MJ he used to babysit him at the Apollo. I was in the dressing room I was 13 years old. Mr Jackson would disappear for hours between shows. I would follow William around and he had so much style and talent. I learned a lot from him as what a man should be, and he only hung around the best and most talented people. He was pure inspiration. Listening to him now and looking at his videos when he was young talking is a totally different person. I guess that is maturity and living in the real world? RIP Mr. Hart and my condolence goes to Pam, William introduced me to her. When they first started dating we both were sitting in his dressing room. He was a lucky man to find true love, and have a wonderful family.
MJ truly had the best of the best around him.
They should have been a part of that TINA documentary on HBO
