Algonquin Winter Wildlife 2024
A few clips of some wildlife I was able to capture during my time in Algonquin this winter. Using my new camera (Nikon D7500 with a 300mm), for the first time this winter has been a blast. Being able to capture distant subjects like birds and mammals has always been unreachable with an iPhone, so having a good camera with a long lens has been life changing. So much more exciting things to come.

Catching my personal best Lake Trout from a canoe
Просмотров 8622 месяца назад
I have become obsessed with everything that is Lake Trout over the past 6 years. Their ecology fascinates me. I like how they are only in deep cold lakes, and that they spend their time roaming the dark depths in the summer only to come shallow for a few weeks in the spring and fall. I like how they live for a long time and are smart versatile hunters. Fishing for lake trout like i do, you have...
Bounty of Brook Trout - A Day In Eight

Its been a little while since i have made a vlog and caught a fish. On this one i head to a local stocked Brook Trout lake in hopes of bringing some nice fish to my friends and family. Winter has come slow to Ontario so the ice is thin and the snow pack is low making travel quite easy. I love fishing solo!

Birding For a RARE GULL - A Day In Eight
Просмотров 1257 месяцев назад
In this episode i go looking for a Sabines Gull in Renfrew county on Lake Dore. Sabines are artic breeders and only wander into inland in migration making them quite rare here. It was a long tough day but perseverance and pertinence lead to an exciting experience with the bird.
In Search of Lake Trout - A Day In Eight

Having experienced my first solo a week prior, i set my eyes on a bigger more intense trip to Algonquins central highland region. This trip was entirely centered around Trout and my desire to cross paths with a larger fish. In this video I work hard to get to a good lake and spend the evening learning its secrets.

The best fish I have ever caught! BIG BROOK TROUT.
It is frowned upon to hold coldwater fish, such a trout in the gill plate for obvious reasons because there is too much of a risk damaging their gills. The correct way to hold them is to support the belly and weight of the fish with one hand and clamp the other hand around the tail, but always lifting the weight of the fish and support them under the belly.
Quite the sight! Moving.
The bite was hot early January
Fish catch ,no cook and eat for a delicious meal .....
If you can't eat it it's not fishing..
Sweet video bro. I’ve only done Lakers once and it was during ice season.. this vid makes me want to try them during open water. Good stuff
Miss flying the beaver
Nice apartment Peter
Amazing video! Keep it up
Thanks!
Fantastic!!!
I was sold at the cinematography. JUST LOOK at that lake view. WOW!! Plus then your passion. You are amazing. This is amazing!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks Beth
Totally 💯
Nothing short of EPIC!!🔥
Forgive me im not a video maker, what are you using to keep your phone mounted to the canoe seat? thats pretty cool. Nice video. Barrys Bay is a great town I pass by when I go to my camp in the fall.
Hi Josh, I use a pole tripod that has a clamp at the bottom of it and a phone clamp at the top. I usually just clamp it to the front bow seat in front of me. They are pretty cheap on Amazon.
One Nation under God that look like from walmart idiot dip.🚩🚶🚴

Heading up to Nipissing to spend 3 nights on the ice tomorrow. This video just gets me more excited for it.
That sounds unreal!! Hope you get into some good walleye.
Wow those are some big stocked brooks. So jealous.
Now I'm hungry.
Hello This is so cool. I like to try it this time I go to the park. Any tips? Thanks
It’s a lot of fun. Try going to Spruce Bog Boardwalk, Opeongo rd, and the Logging Museum. Bring some peanuts and sunflower seeds and just walk around until you hear birds. Once you hear them try to stay still and hold out your hand :)
Bet that was Delicious 😋
So good
Beautiful!
Birds
Congrats on the first solo trip. I also paddle a nova craft . a UL bob special.
Congrats on the fish and cudos for the release .

Great video! Quinten is wearing fantastic LaCrosse rubberboots!!!!
Quinten has got great LaCrosse rubberboots!!!!
You didn't need to add music!
Noted. Thanks.
No beautiful radial sound.Ditch the music.
I hear you but this Beaver has a turbine engine so ... no radial sound in any case.
Noted. Thanks.
Very enjoyable to watch and nice fish! Well done!
Thank you very much!
What a weird, cool fish. I laughed about the GMO apple because I eat homegrown organic apples... They've almost always got worms so you can't just bite into them like that 😂 it's worth it though the taste is completely different.
Sponsored by Moms Jerky! This was an excellent reflective yes everyone want to hear this episode. Good one Peter. I love you like a son.
Have a great day

You can hardly get better than that as far as brook trout goes. Big size, well proportioned shape and...unbeatable colours! Congratulations for that beauty.
