Bridging distinct cultural backgrounds and sharing different perspectives about the world: this is the goal of Ready Go! Expat. I believe that when we experience different cultures, meet people from completely different backgrounds, go beyond any preconceived idea, we start to understand and accept people more and see the beauty of cultural differences.
My name is Eduardo Santos, but my friends call me Edu. I am from Brazil but consider myself a global citizen. I am currently based in Bogotá, Colombia.
I have traveled to 30 countries, and I have lived in 4 countries. Moving abroad has changed my life, and I honestly believe that everyone should experience living abroad at some point in their lives. Perhaps, if more people had the chance to go abroad and see others, this world would be a better place.

11 Facts You Probably Didn't Know About Brazil
Hello watching from the Bahamas. I am coming to study in China in September, and want yo bring my daughter I am wondering it is hard to get foreign students enrolled in school
You such as my neighbour
Thanks Angelique for sharing. She mentioned that she had trouble connecting in China but not in the Dominican Republic or Italy. I wonder if she had tried to find hobbies in common with some Chinese people, like mahjong, if that might have been a way to meet local people there and connect?
Holland
My country is sri lanka.. Can't i ever teach in china😔 But it's my dream ☹️
You are so right on....sometimes the language barrier, or even the accents, are exhausting. I would get to where I just wanted to be where we all had the same American accent, and would stay at "home" just to avoid being around the differences in speaking.
I'll see you in SC Ollie! Moving there in like 6 months.
Yeah my bro always says Bolivia is under rated
Man, SA is so dangerous. I live in East Asia and SE Asia and there are young women walking around at 2AM in big cities without worry or issue. Latinos need to improve their societies in terms of safety.
more gringos are now being murdered and robbed in medellin than all other cities in SA, so I'd revised that list. Rio BR is like 2, medellin is prob 10
Vy mluvíte anglicky s přízvukem, nemám pravdu?
Any of these areas have hiking and nature
Ready. Go. Expat. Lol! I love it!
What is the warmest place in Colombia to live.
Great video, thanks. Im surprised though about the cost of living of €1500 in Rio. My experience is that a mediocre apartment (not via Airbnb) in a good location (Ipanema) costs already at least €1200 (rs 6000).
Congrats on the video! Just one constructive criticism I noticed when you talked about Cuenca. You referred to 1 bedroom studios. If it is a studio it doesn’t have a bedroom. And if it has a bedroom it isn’t a studio 😅
Studios are different in different countries
Cordoba is not a boring city bro. Is a college town with endless nightlife. As a matter of fact I don’t libe there because I want more peace and quiet.
If she is Slovak, I would say she is an ex-pat, technically, but it would be better to have spoken to a person from a more distant country. Having worked and lived in both Prague and Brno, I am moving back permanently this year (2024).
Mmm I just don't know what to say 😢 but l think my parents won't let me go abroad aaaaaa
No. I.have to. disagree. My family all came from Italy on both sides I.can't stand any kind of Italian food after being forced to eat it for 18 years. What drives me crazy are Italians not understanding that people get burned out on Italian food. Worse yet,is their bragging about how great their cooking is. Maybe nobody wants to hear it. It borders on arrogance and pretension. If Italians like their own food, fine, but quit behaving like 5 year Olds demanding praise and attention. Not all of us want Italian food. We also resent Italians in Italy trying to control what we cook and eat in America. It is NONECOF YOUR BUSINESS HOW WE EAT IN AMERICA. WE HAVE OUR OWN PREFERENCES AND ID WE WANT YOUR ADVICE WE WILL ASK FOR IT. OTHERWISE, JUST REALIZE WE WOULD RATHER YOU JUST STOP WITH UNWANTED ADVICE ABOUT OUR FOOD AND CUSTOMS
Edu, you rock! My fave famous person
Are work permits difficult to get?
2 things.....1. Remote jobs are becoming super difficult to get now and 2. Many companies do not allow you two being in other countries long-term. They say it's something to do with taxes because if they don't have an established presence in that country that you're in they are liable for you and thus on the hook in that country for any liabilities that you incur as well as taxes so if they catch you they will fire you immediately
Hello, can you please do an updated video about teaching in university? the requirements, the pay, the benefits etc
Why ?we never get any expats that have a skill (trade) like welding , carpentry or even auto mechanics that can work on there own part time in which ever country they go retire in or just people with trades that don’t depend on finding a job or living of retirement outside the US. If i was to try living outside the US i would pick up a trade because they are pretty much universal
Czech Republic has the best beer in the World!
Uruguay and paraguay are usually forgotten. I wonder why
Is medellin safe?
I am really surprised that you as a Brasileiro did not mention any of the other cities in Brasil that are excellent for digital nomads. Sao Paulo is better than Rio, it is safer, costs less, and is the most convenient location in all the country for travelling. Florianopolis is a good option, although it is more expensive because of being such a touristy location. Belo Horizonte is a good option. In the northeast Fortaleza and Jao Pessoa are good options. Any of those cities are better than quito, or Lima, or Santiago.
Bruh u mean to tell me it’s good to work from a place, where the most common scam is befriending and DRUGGING foreigners and then cleaning out their apartments? U srs?
Sao Paulo é mt mais caro que Rio, eu sou do Rio e vou a SP sempre e a diferença é gritante, do valor do aluguel a estacionamento, cinema e comida
Serio?Eu achaba que Rio e mais caro.@@melissacclass
GREAT! I LIVE IN MIAMI, FLORIDA, USA AND WANTED TO SEE HOW THINGS ARE IN THERE. NOW I KNOW. COOL! THANKS!
How can I get Sundays off? Is that something you negotiated ? Also which Training Center would you suggest?
Wow. Your comment about some days not wanting to go outside and be “other” struck such a cord with me. Today was one of those days. Maybe it’s important we give ourselves those days to give ourselves a break as expats. It can be so overwhelming. I’m so glad you posted this because knowing I am not alone makes me feel a part of this group of expats. We are all going through these complicated emotions.
Living in Kenya eventually humbled me and after that I had a new perspective on life and appreciating what I have. An expat in a way is someone that leaves room to grow and considers evolving along the way because you aren’t overly patriotic about your homeland. As I have gotten older I have realized don’t be a dickhead because you might end up eating your words later on.
Great video! Will be in Bogota in 2 weeks and thought our only option was with a tour company. Glad to know we can travel via train for a different experience to the Salt Cathedral! Thank you!
6. You must be between 18 and 60 years of age (men) and 55 (women)
My man $400 dollar apartment for an expat is not possible or it’s a total dump
dumb comment, clearly u dont travel
100% of e-bikes in the US are made in China.
YEA YOU HAVE GREAT VIDEO
You were right about "boring" when it comes to Santiago. Nearly everything closes early, tons of businesses are closed on the weekends, and there really aren't that many nightclubs. I have been here for two months and it has been the worst city in my travels. Also, it's not really that safe. And it's not kind of or a little bit expensive... it is very expensive. In nearly all categories, it is just as expensive as the United States, which really shocked me. I will be very happy to leave here next week.
Oh. That's interesting. I've heard some friends talking about the high cost of living there compared to other South American cities. I am planning to travel there for one or two weeks, but not to move there. I am quite happy here in Bogotá. What about you? Where are you going next? Thanks for the comment. =]
@@ReadyGoExpat If I were you, I’d go to Valparaíso or the south of Chile. Even the locals hate Santiago and think it’s a bad representation of Chile. As for me, I just arrived in Cartagena two days ago and I’m still in the “feeling overwhelmed “ phase. 😂
@@kinkypinkymusic that's cool! I haven't been to Cartagena yet, but I've bought tickets to fly there in October.
Try our city Medellin, Colombia 🇨🇴 we are the happiest country in Latin America. 🇨🇴✌️
I obtained my bachelor degree in English and master in TESOL also i got TEFL certification and TESOL too Also IELTS Do u think they can accept me?
I think you can always try and apply for jobs online. However, when I left China in 2020, they really emphasized the passport from an English speaking country as a requirement, unfortunately.
No city of Uruguai, why?
That's probably due to the high cost of living in Montevideo and Punta, especially rent.
Thanks for your information 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Just found your channel, I am planning to visit Bogota in Aug,
that's nice!
can you add hindu spiritual centres in colombia:gracias:el diabolo hugo of caracas:2017
hey. no idea about that
kkkkkkk não colocaram São Paulo, o lar do metrô, cafés, studios e empresas? Rio de nojeira é passado. Ps. Sou de teresina, mas nem nomade digital brasileiro iria pro rio, quanto mais gringo.
Hi im Studying in Netherlands for a MBO 4 (level 4 Degree) and i want to live in porto profetional logistic
Great list. Thank you.
Kuai 块 is more of a colloquial slang term, it's kind of like saying "dollar" as value instead of as a currency. As a Chinese ethnic outside China, it's still commonly used across all dialects, which suggests that it might be a very old term used long before RMB was established as a currency. Also, the problem with Chinese traditional meds and treatments (for skpetical people) is that it's hard to scientifically measure effectiveness by Western medical/laboratory standards, but they are usually very effective for treating minor issues like stomach aches and early fever symptoms. Even when you're not sick, it's good to have some herbal-based food/drinks every once a while to "balance" your body (almost like supplements).
thank you for this video !! very relevant topic for me now ..
I am glad you liked it! =]
