At the top of page 75 in the course pack it says "central chemoreceptors are located in the medulla and detect changing PCO2 levels in CSF." What exactly are those two acronyms (PCO2 and CSF) short for? I can't seem to figure it out...
PCO2 means "partial pressure of carbon dioxide"...Partial pressure may be designated as an upper case P or a lower case p. CSF is cerebrospinal fluid.
