Vermont filthy Bike packing race/ride
This was an organized, unsanctioned 189 mile bike packing race that I did this fall. With over 25,000 feet in elevation gain and tons off rugged riding including Writes Mountain single track about 90 miles into the race makes this " Gravel" race a very challenging endeavor. I decided to ride it all in one big push and completed the route in 19:06. I rode my Santa Cruz blur with WTB Venture gravel tires and switched out my 130 fork for a 100 mill Sid to save weight. The race is fully self supported, you carry all clothing and supplies and refuel at stores along the way. I started with about 9 hours of food and enough water to get me to the first store but also had a water filter and purify...

Maasanutten ring trail full pull pre ride 2024
Просмотров 115Месяц назад
I came down to Virginia and the norther George Washington National forest to try a full pull on the legendary Massanutten trail. The Massanutten ring is a loop that traverses the extremely rocky ridges of the Massanutten Mountains surrounding the Shenandoah and Front Royal river valleys. Considered by many to be the most technical trail on the east coast and after riding the whole thing I tend ...
Racing the Alameda 369 endurance race Butler, PA

I did something different than my normal 1st lap video, I waited until about 6 hours in and 65 miles, in this 9 hour race to put the camera on. waiting for max light I think is the way to go with dark forest, you just don't get enough light early in the morning for the stabilization to work properly and it looks horrible. This is a first year race in Butler PA, 3, 6 and 9 hour options on a 7 mi...
Moab Rocks Stage 1 2024
Просмотров 8135 месяцев назад
I worked Moab Rocks stage race again this year as a videographer. I used two cameras and shot video from the from and back at the same time and got some good stuff. This is stage 1 Porcupine rim stage, snow seems to be a thing with this stage but it was great conditions actually. this is most of the video that I shot from this stage starting with the leaders and worked my way back from there.
12 hours of Port Jervis course pre-ride 2024

I've been wanting to do this race for a few years now ever since my buddy Dejay Birtch started putting it on. The trail system here in Port Jervis NY is really great and is definitely some proper mountain biking with old school chunk. I didn't want to deal with the camera on race day because I was supporting myself and I had a feeling all my competition would have support and I was right. I end...
Riding La Milagrosa W/Dylan Stuck & Nate Hills, Tucson AZ

La Milagrosa is pretty much what Tucson AZ is best known for as far as gnarly trail riding goes. For good reason this the go to trail in Tucson and definitely one of the best. Check out Nate Hills channel for his an my footage edited together on this.

More back shots of our ride on Super Bowl Sunday from February. It was a bit wet but definitely hero dirt. This trail can take a lot of moisture and not be muddy, you can see the river crossings were pretty drenching. Super fun day of riding in Tucson, we rode up as far as we could on Bug Springs and then down to the bottom of La Milagrosa then after that we rode Agua Caliente. Both rides toget...
Ridgeline Trail with Nate Hills and Follow cam Friday

This is Ridgeline trail in Tucson AZ, part of a small but Amazing network of trails in the Tortolita mountains on the west side of Tucson. This is back shot of Nate Hills as he was filming me for an episode of Follow cam Friday. He took both camera angles and made a really cool edit for that episode, super cool perspective on a super cool trail. I lived in this area of Tucson for a winter and n...
Riding Bug Springs in the snow, Tucson AZ

Super fun Super Bowl Sunday ride with Dylan Stucki and Nate Hills. We rode up bugs because the snow at the very top was probably pretty deep. we started about halfway down from the top, the trail was wet but in amazing shape. This was the first ride of two we did that day, riding Agua Caliente after. Nate was videoing from the back for the current episode of Follow cam Friday on his channel now.

Back shots that I took of Nate Hills while filming Follow cam Friday. This was the best conditions I've ever had on this trail system, it was just the most perfect hero dirt. The light ended up being super amazing as well and throw in the scenery of the Tortolita mountains and you have a perfect evening of riding! Nate took both his and my video and spliced them together really well for his new...

This is back shot of Nate Hills of Follow cam Friday on Molino basin-Bellota sections of the Arizona Trail. Super fun section of trail on Mount Lemon that is after Bug Springs and before La Milagrosa. I'm posting all the back shots that I took but Nate is putting out some edits on his channel of his video and mine cut together.

Follow Cam Friday is my buddy Nate Hills RUclips channel, if you haven't seen it go check it out, it's all rad content. he was doing some follow cam on me down Agua so I figured i'd get some back shot in the process. Super fun rip down Agua as always, especially with someone like Nate following you.
Riding Scorpion trail, Tucson, AZ.

This was a pirate trail that's was recently adopted into the trail system in Tucson. It's now called Tanque verde upper trail but I think the old pirate trail name of Scorpion is much better. I'll usually use this as a warmup if I'm heading out on Redington road for a bigger ride or if I want to just get in a short easy ride I'll do a couple laps on it and I can ride nice easy up redington road...
Back shot on Agua Caliente trail Tucson, AZ

I need to use this back shot more often because I really like the different perspective. The first half of the trail I'm in the front with my buddy Randy following me and the second half I'm following Randy for some rare footage of me riding. Just can't get enough of this trail, all the hard work that it takes to get up this thing is always worth it.
Riding the best Downhill in Tucson, Agua Caliente
Просмотров 1 тыс.10 месяцев назад
Agua Caliente trail is the best downhill in Tucson AZ, in my humble opinion. The hardest thing about accessing this trail is that it's an out and back only and the climb is 2800' strait up then down. The beginning and end of the trail are super steep and mandatory hike a bike but the middle section has some very challenging riding that can be done. This is absolutely my favorite ride in Tucson,...

Great footage. 🤘🏼
Thank you! Great course!
Congrats! Epic for sure. Loved the single-track and respect to the hikers coming down Writes Mountain. Knarly! And, the snowmobile/class IV? roads with ruts and wet leaves...insane. Great ride!
Definitely try to respect other trail users as much as possible, really doesn’t take much effort at all. Yes class lV roads, snowmobile and ATV routes as well. Dump about 3 inches of leaves on everything and you got some sketchy riding 😆🤘
@@joshtostado6365 I’ll try not to plan it same day as an ultra marathon ON the mountain so you can send the full descent. Made for some fun interactions tho.
Whoa, that looks epic.
Super fun adventures day!
Can you still hear the crunching leaves?
😆 I think I have PTSD from all the crunching 😉🤙
Gotta love fall rides in the NE or midwest! Some gnarly washouts and that st dh totaly reminds me a bit of lower Lenawee🤘
Totally man! Lower Lenawee all the way, I was not expecting the ST section to be that good. Definitely a little spicier with semi slick gravel tires 😆
Put Ring in the title bro
The "Oh, shit!' per mile ratio is super high on the Massanutten Ring! So awesome!
It’s a special one that’s for sure!
Nice job on all that!
Thanks man! So fun!
That is alot of thistle thrashing😂 but sooo good🤘
Ya next time i attempt this will definitely be in the spring time with less over grown foliage.
Trail: I heard you like rocks....
😆🤘🔥
There must be something wrong with me to really enjoy watching you ride these crazy hard trails. So gnarly. Thanks for posting this one.
I think there might be something wrong with me for loving to ride this kind of stuff.😆 I glad you like the video, this trail was crazy.
Where did you start your ride to get to French Pass? Thanks- Eddy
I started in Breckenridge and basically did the Guyot loop. Over French pass to Michigan creek, up that to Georgia pass, down the Colorado trail back into tiger road and eventually Breck. Many ways to get back into Breck once you’re back down to tiger road.
Fig bars, best stuff ever! I have done 4's and 6's, maybe this race next year will be my next progression towards a 12 hour! Really liking the endurance races!
Awesome man! That would be a great jump up to a 12. The fig bars are so good, one of my favorite snacks for racing!
Wow, that looks very challenging!! But will do it next year . Thanks for sharing the video,
Really nice riding, man!
Thank you! I need to come back and do this race again, so good!
You table saw through that trail.
Nice Lap, thanks for sharing
Nice chunk! Much more techie than 50 Year/Millie. Next visit, for sure… 🤙
It’s pretty amazing! The whole trail is wild!
Nuts
Can't you just ride on the street?
If you mean through the border I think you have to go in, the guys that I was with are locals and go over all the time.
What a great video. Used to have a condo at sugarbush in the 80s and 90s. That whole area is something special. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. You guys rip. Serious skills.
Awesome thanks man! This is my favorite area in Vermont to ride, I’m in New Hampshire this summer I have to get over there soon, so fun!
26 degrees 14 mile gravel climb just to get to the drug dealer. Dope man dope man give me a hit. 🎉
Killer riding. What tires you running on the blur?
Thanks man! I run WTB Ranger 2.4 for pretty much all xc racing but for this I did throw on a vigilante on the front for a little more chunky ride.
Good Job
It takes a miracle to not hit cactus on that trail. ;)
To true! Pretty much everywhere in Tucson it’s a miracle if you don’t hit cactus!😆
@@joshtostado6365 I had to wear my pads just for that even on non-tech trails.
Enjoyed this looking back view as it provides a much better picture of the trail features than looking forward.
Ya it definitely gives a good perspective, less GoPro effect that flattens everything out in the forward facing shot.
Such precise riding you guys make it look easy damn good riding 👌🏾
Thanks so much! Super engaging riding, so much to avoid!
So glad that this can’t be shuttled. This is on my list for sure. Just need to plan the trip now. Thanks!
You and me both! It definitely stays good because of that, pay to play in full affect.
Hey man! I’ve got a Hightower that I ride in the desert and am looking at reserve wheels for it. Which ones do you run and do you recommend them?
Ya I love my reserve wheels! I run the 30HD on my Hightower, they’ve been great for me and they have a lifetime warranty.🤘
Hello! Rad vid. How did you get to the top? Looking at maps. We are thinking its an out and back?
Yes it’s an out and back, start at a.c. Canyon right next to the bottom of La Milagrosa and go up to the top of agua caliente . Return the same way you went up, the bottom of agua proper is not as good as a.c. Canyon.
First we went Green mt to milagrosa. Next ride Bug Springs to AC(Gnarlier) We were looking for something new. Is the hike a bike difficult? Any other trails you'd recommend?
The hike a bike is definitely difficult, especially at the top but it’s so worth it. Upper 50 year trail area is really good and Wild Mustang/ javelin trail in the Marana trails system. Both of those areas are on the west side of Tucson.
We are heading up today. It's warm yet beautiful. Going to 50 yr tomorrow. Thanks for the beta.cheers!
Another great video . Thanks for sharing
Awesome! Glad you liked it.
Good to see this trail getting adopted, it was a long standing non system free ride trail that accommodated Tucson's OG free riders and shuttlers.
Ya to bad the lower section got demolished but this section is really great! Really just needs more people to be riding it, I did a good amount of trimming in there this winter.
Which tires?
'PromoSM'
where is your rear mounted? i found a cool under the seat mount that works great, very stable. i did however, smash the rear screen when bottoming out with the seat all the way down though, so i was wondering if you mount it somewhere else
Ya I mount it on my pack, I use an old chest mount wrapped around the pack a couple times and seems to be pretty stable. I’ve also heard of people smashing lenses when they use a seat post mount so I’ve always shied away from that.
That dirt looks 💰
So good! The kind you dream about.
I made ‘em extra sloppy for yous. I know how yous kids like ‘em sloppy! lol fun ride dude! Hit agua the other day and it was so good!
😆 😂 yes! Agua is so rad I love it!🤘
Iv only rode it in the snow.
Ya totally! I’ve ridden so many times with snow on it 😆🤘
that good video. What a spectacular place... I ask you something in Mexico, is there anything like it?
Thank you it really is! I’m not sure about the riding in Mexico, I know that there are a lot of good spots for riding but not sure if anything is like this.
back shots is crazy
overall, tremendous riding skill-great video. @6:52 some feats of skill and strength-wow.
🤘🏻 🌟 🤘
Looks awesome! Can motorcycles access this track?
Super sweet trail, this is a non motorized area.
I'm signed up for this year!!!
Awesome man! It’s such a cool course!
AZT goodness. So much fun chasing your wheel!
Ya that was a super fun day man!🤘🍻
One of my favorite trails here in the Dirty T
Super fun! Great conditions right now.🤘
Sick...love it!
Awesome trail! And great to see a full vid of Nate riding.
Did you cut out part of the video? Lap says 57min, but video is 43 min.
Yes I did cut out some of the lap.
I would like to know (and see) how you setup your camera to capture the action behind you. I've tried it a couple of times but I don't have a good method yet.
I use a chest mount wrapped around hydration pack so that the mount sits at the lower end of the pack. The key is getting the right angle on the camera to shoot backwards, I position the pack how I think it would ride on my back and adjust the camera vertically off of that angle. Hope this helps, maybe I’ll make a video about my camera setup in the future.
When two legends go for a ride...
