It's a smashing album. Just got it yesterday.
Now that we have Jon Anderson fronting a band that captures the ENERGY of 70's Yes, it is now crystal clear that he always was the spirit and essence of Yes. Steve Howe just seems so tired leading his Yes tribute band...
Tears in my eyes!!
Los ví 2 veces a los oi r ori
My all time favorite album! Just saw this tour last night in Denver! Had to visit this video. Well done! Jon is a pro! He grabbed a bunch of talented musicians who are obviously Yes Heads that want to carry on the great music! I get up! I get down!
That was flipping awesome !
They are absolutely Killing This.... The best YES Line-up since: Jon, Chris, Rick, Bill and Steve. PLEASE!!! Come to the UK Jon!.🙏
It's genuinely amazing how Jon Anderson can still sing the whole thing perfectly in his late 70s
Glorious. 🙏
I have loved YES since I first saw them in 1972 but I am unable to appreciate the current lineup for a wide variety of reasons. Jon IS Yes, also for a wide variety of reasons. Jon and The Band Geeks is the closes thing to YES that exists in 2024, for various reasons. I hope they will continue to produce new 'Yes music'. Looking forward to their upcoming album TRUE. Jon has said he doesn't think he and Band Geeks "need" to do another album, but Jon, it isn't whether you need to, it's that Yes fans everywhere want you to.
THIS IS REAL "YES"
My god! Somebody in the comments said perfection! How utterly disrepectful to all that went before.
I saw Yes 6 times. The first time was August 5th 1972 at Berkley Community theatre Alan White had only joined the band a week and a half prior, so they couldn't do 'Close to the edge' yet. Still a great show. I saw 6 consecutive North American tour, the 6th in June of 1976. Best progressive rock band EVER!!!!!
The new YES you must keep this band going Jon creating new YES music ❤
JUST BRILLIANT & BEAUTIFUL
I was at the Chicago show at the Copernicus Center. Loved it!! Was 2nd row center, sitting behind Jon's beloved 'Janey' and his daughter. Was a very nice evening even though the sound that close tends to be a bit muddled. The visuals were outstanding!
Well, my cup runneth over. 😊❤
And don't get me wrong... The BOG are aweosome! BUT... In my heart and my mind.... I know these songs, the feeling, the heart ... Too fast, to much trying too be Yessongs versions..... No question, they're better than the current Yes.... But stop trying so hard, put some feeling in it!
Great band no doubt.... Jon sounds awesome... But the tempo is too forced.... After 154 yes shows... And being personal friends with Chris.... These guys are great.... But trying too hard... Slow it down a bit and show some style and feeling!
The Geeks Band has a fresher Sound better as Yes Why need Jon Anderson a Steve Howe he is a timeless modern brilliant Musican
I saw Yes in the 70s, starting with the Relayer tour. This is just as good, no kidding. With all due respect to Squire and Howe, IMO Jon embodies Yes.
The Band Geeks are so good! If I was Jon I would want to sing with them too. 🥰
Steve Howe is by far my favorite guitarist of all time, but , man, this is the true Yes ! Just wonderful ! So much better than the one circling the globe nowadays under the Yes moniker.
Wonderful! Great tune from Yes 3rd Album! Much better than Steve Howe Yes!
Kills on the Wakeman solo - hard to do - not many can handle it at tempo...
Anyband, try doing this today! You cant ..
Wow ! Really impressed with this .
Hell to the yeah! Jon Anderson IS Yes! So happy for him and for us who get to enjoy this national treasure of a voice!
I would not agree with that - he is the VOICE - the players ARE the band - and these guys do it much justice indeed...
Just noted at the start of his outro jam, it takes two players to handle (Rick) Wakeman’s part!
Why is it that a founding member of YES cannot call his band YES, but a non founding member (Steve Howe) is allowed to use it.
Wait....What? @8:02 No fog drifting across the stage..?? C'mon guys...!! ;) (J/K) Jon and The Band Geeks are making it look easy to nail this classic and epic tale of progressive rock genius. Excellent and well done, boys!
Absolutely fabulous playing with the same ferocity and energy of the early YES
met him long time ago, why does he use own music
this is yes... not the one with Steve
Jon Anderson is the only person who could replace Ann Marie when the band geeks play yes songs.
A band that played Yes Music better than Yes, But this one is Yes Because Yes founder and Voice Jon Anderson leads it .! The other one is Steve Howe and the Yes tribute Band
So great!!
This is so good. I wish Carl Palmer would do something like this. Get great musicians and play the music live accurately. His tour with video isn’t doing it for me. The Band Geeks have done Karn Evil 9.
I was in the front row, right by the guitarist. A transcendent show!!! Insofar as Steve and Jon not working together, well, sometimes art and commerce just don't always mix. I'm just very grateful for the material they did produce together instead of lamenting what they might have done. Besides, I would't want to hear Steve and Jon with Rick in the fold. Then, I would just get weepy-eyed over Chris and Alan not being there. That 2004 tour was simply the finest Yes tour I'd ever seen (the 1990/1991 Union tour was second best for me and I was too young for the 1978 In The Round tour).
@MarkPassero Agreed, 2004 was an amazing Yes tour year. I caught them at Hartford (Aug 22), NY State Fair in Syracuse (Sept 2 ), and VT State Fair in Essex Junction, near Burlington, VT (Sept 4). I've got a dvd of the NY show, and a 2 CD-R set of the complete VT show (a great audience recording, btw... to me, this Awaken was absolutely otherworldly. Little did I know that this was to be the end of (one of) the classic Yes lineups).
Too bad . I was lucky enough to be in my youth during their finest years. I was 19 in '78. This is pretty close to the real thing. God bless Jon for giving us his best ....still.
Steve Howe take note. This is how Yes “could” sound in 2024. Just saying.
You go and on and on, Jon. Statement. Hearts.
I AM impressed. Pretty damn fresh sounding version of a classic.vJon sounds good!
Wow…!! 😳🎶😎💥
That….was terrific.
Suite "Close to the Edge"
Seems to me Jon is fully aware of the songs that Yes made that were essential. Maybe little Napoleon had a hand at creating these classics. SH is not a founding member, but it would be grand to hear him play with Jon, if he could get over himself.
YES is whoever Jon Anderson is singing with.
Whomever.
@@Frisbieinstein Whatever
It's a shame that Steve Howe did not Wait for Jon when he was having medical issues. This music is not the same without Jon's voice. They just don't get it. BUT NOW Jon has a band that can RECREATE this awesome music that I listened to my whole life. And now at 65 I can see a 79 year old Jon Anderson perform and sing this music and sound so BEAUTIFUL at his age!!! I am thrilled to see these guys. And my opinion is, THIS BAND KILLS IT !!!!!
Nobody plays guitar like Steve Howe!! Same with base, drums, and key boards!!
@@kevinmcconnell3641 AGREED
You have no idea what and why..... I was there. ..
BEAUTIFUL ✨
Jon won’t tour outside the US sadly. He still has health issues and the US suits him fine
When I first saw The Band Geeks a few years ago I had a thought that if Jon Anderson was to get together with this band it would be A Great Combination because of All the Turmoil over the years with the other band members from the past as well as they wanted to do their own things and Jon wanted to get back into the band after he recovered from his illness but they took it upon themselves to continue to tour without him before he was able to do it again. Then they formed ARW and they started to tour for a while and then Jon found this Band and the rest is History. Jon’s Voice is still in Very Good Shape and Almost at 100% like it was back in the early days.
