John Jay High school JROTC ColorGuard (2nd place)
Awesome routine....one of the best I've seen. Way to go Air Force!!
37 years ago, the 782nd AFJROTC Silver Eagles performed at my middle school (Anson Jones). I was so impressed that I joined them at John Jay High School. Today I am a Former Naval Officer, NASA scientist, and currently Advanced Weapons Developer. Even my UT Austin ROTC was not as sharp. Hats off gents. #Mustangs #MarbachRoad #FredsFishFry
That’s awesome!
Hell yeah AFJROTC!!! You knocked it out of the park!! Virtually flawless performance!! GO AIR FORCE!!! Kick a$$!! HUA!!
bro their uniforms look amazing
i will forever be impressed with the John Jay Silver Eagles
Is this the rotc or jrotc
JROTC
Hats off to your regulation captain, I could never lead a platoon so perfectly
Wonder how he’s doing these days.
Always will be a legend.
Nice
Found something the Air Force is good at. The only problem is that these individuals are not in the Air Force. Job well done.
I'm still looking for something the marines are good at!! Eating crayons doesn't count!

How long have you guys practice?
We would practice Monday through Saturday. On weekdays (school days), we would practice from 415pm to 6pm/630pm/7pm. The 7pm would be mainly for either color guard practice bc they would practice from 6-7pm, or the whole team would have a 3-hour practice. On Saturdays, we would practice from 8am to 12pm/2pm or 4pm. Just depends on the days if we have regionals, state or Grand nationals
@@jongarcia544 oh wow, a silver eagle? how are yall so great 🙏
@@alvin.9530 practice practice and practice. And learn the basics. A lot of schools focus on ex or trying to learn all these other things and their routine doesn’t look good. Their drill in general doesn’t look good. I’ve coached local schools in SA after I graduated in 2015. A school that was getting second to last place was now placing top 7 out of 15-20 schools that went. I actually got the team to beat my eagles in color guard at one of the competitions 🤣 all I did with the team is basics and you’ll see how much it can improve a team 🙏☺️
@@jongarcia544 i wish we could practice as often as you guys could. for my drill team, since im the drill commander, we practice mon and tues, 7:20-8:20 so we only practice 2 hours a week. is there any advice or tips that could help us improve in those 2 hours. ive tried using a speaker with a metronome and we’re not that bad, but you guys are my inspiration. like in the video, the 15 count was outstanding, how do you guys get so on time and how do you help people get better at drill? metronome? doing it by the numbers? or is it all just practice and practice?
@@alvin.9530 the way to get better is basics. Explain to your team that it’s REPETITION REPETITION. I can’t explain how many times I’ve done things in my 3 years on eagles. It’s boring at times but it has to be done. By the numbers is a good way but also sound. All noises have to be on at the same time. If it’s popcorn, do it again until it’s done right. Finally it’s just a lot of practicing.
you got the extended footage where they marched in w bagpipes and the lowering of the flag w christian and donovan ?
Yep I posted it
@@nc9869 just saw, thanks !!
Get the videos on Facebook 😂
Indeed
Ur goated for posting this
I HAVE TO DO THIS ON SATURDAY I AM TERRIFIED IM DOING RIFLE NEXT TO US FLAG 😭😭😭😭 pls
Good luck bro you can do it my next drill meet is in Omaha Council Bluffs
That was clean af.
Is there a reason they don’t have bayonets? It would be looked so awesome!
they are high schoolers
Jrotc are not allowed to use bayonets in any competitions
@@Green_Bullet Actually MCJROTC is an exception rarely in certain events but need to do a waiver and all the neccesary work in order to use bayonets. but mainly thats for the drill team
jrotc. also a color guard should never have bayonets because knifes and flags waving around don't mix very well
@@honeybadger1245- MCJROTC also use a ton of crayons in their presentations!
They would look so much better with bayonets and slowed down a bit. Is there some reason JROTC can’t have bayonets?
It’s a high school program….
@@WindowsLover44 ok so they give the mcjrotc the nco swords wich are dull for their teams
@@cristobalalvarez5491 this is afjrotc… the regulation is a bit different
ik for afjrotc it is explicitly prohibited
Why didn’t they have rifles on opposing shoulders? It would’ve looked so much better, IMO. Is there a reason they didn’t have bayonets? Or is that for adult color guards only?
Well the color guard manuals don’t require rifles to be on opposing shoulders and it wouldn’t make any sense to have bayonets on daisy drill rifles for a JROTC competition
I believe they are army jrotc there regs might be different but in NJROTC And AFJROTC rifles are on opposite shoulders. as for bayonets no jrotc is allowed to have bayonets in competition
@@Green_Bullet I think it’s really just a decision made by the unit because in my AFJROTC unit both rifles are on the right shoulder. And also John Jay is AFJROTC
@Green_Bullet Last year, in 2022, they changed AFJROTC to NOT have opposing shoulders as a regulation
WOW😳💕💕💕

Almost good enough to be Marines.
😂😂😂😂
These guys are BETTER than any marine color guard I've seen!! Plus, I'm sure they hate crayons! HUA!
They’re almost good enough to be Marines.
lowkey their drill is a lot better than the average marine so
Definitely better than most marines lol what
My mcjrotc drill team is better at jfk high school
Every single movement was the perfect definition of ✨SHARP✨
Do y’all have any females in your corps? Just a question
I’m not apart of their program but they did have one female who participated in their exhibition and regulation, but I’m pretty sure she had to make her way all the way from the jv team to this varsity team
Jrotc has both males and females. I think that they just have different drill teams
@@cadetflamen12 oh. Maybe. And I know it has males and females. I’m a female and I did four years of Jrotc
Morgan Bangs thanks for the info, I'm just a freshie so I don't know to to much
@@cadetflamen12 it’s no problem. U hope you love it
What was up with the way the left rifle guy was saluting his rifle?
What do you mean they look right

2nd place and for the other video I posted of regulation they also placed 2nd
