The Mitchell's in Menorca
Добавлен 21 июн 2023
Why Menorca? Why not? Here's our photage of why we love this island and why we'd recommend it to everyone!
Cala'n Bosch, Menorca - Day 2 (September 2024)
Cala'n Bosch for us is one of the best places to stay on the island. Shops, restaurants and water parks along with a beach and lighthouse. Lots to do and plenty to see.

From Marinda Gardens to Cala'n Bosch beach (in real time)

We stayed in a ground floor apartment at Marinda Gardens, with free access to the water park (Aquarock). Ideally situated as it's just over a ten minute walk to the beach in cala'n bosch - for able bodied persons. Unfortunately, I had a broken ankle, so walking with crutches took us a little longer. We tried out our new camera, so apologies for the unsteady picture....we're getting used to it! ...

Here we are, back in cala'n bosch, our 2nd time staying at Marinda Gardens. An ideal place to stay. We had our own apartment (up to 4 people), all inclusive, plus free access to the Aquarock water park, a stones throw away. 5 minutes from the harbour, where you'll be spoilt for choice on where to eat out (we recommend El Patos). Plenty of shops too for souvenirs or snacks. Also has an easy bus ...

Torre-saura Palace. Located in the heart of the old town in Ciutadella. Opened daily except Sundays. Surprisingly bigger than expected. Entry doesn't cost the earth and is well worth a visit. A mansion that goes on and on! When you finish exploring the rooms, you can access the courtyard and garden then wander the balcony and see Cuitadella from above.

A morning visiting Lithica. Admission (as of 2024) was 7€ each. An old quarry that also has beautiful gardens. (A lot of walking)! But worth visiting.

Can't recommend this restaurant enough! The staff are exceptionally welcoming & friendly. Reasonable prices, impeccable service and a menu to suit all. Never have we had a bad meal here and we've grown to live the place that much, we're proud to call the staff our friends! (please note:prices on the menu board are from 2022).

A tranquil hotel with a small gymnasium and indoor pool aswell as outdoors. A steam room, sauna and salt room. Stunning views and hideaway coves to while away the day. 10 minute walk into the old town of Cuitadella and a bus stop, 2 minutes away that takes you to Cala'n Bosch.

During our recent 2 week stay in Cala'n Forcat, we spent a lot of time frequenting Frankie's Bar. Just a 10 minute walk from our hotel (Globales Almirante Farragut) we discovered they serve a really moreish strawberry milkshake, that is inexpensive and sooooo tastey! The menu is vast and varied, with a full English on the list. We enjoyed the baguettes and milky coffees. And would spend a coupl...

A few hours spent in Mahon (& a trip in a glass bottom boat)! We took the glass lift down to the harbour but there's steps available for those who aren't good with heights! 😂 The glass bottom boat was well worth doing. (Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any fish but the whole experience was amazing)!
A montage of some of the food and drink we experienced in Menorca this year

We ate in so many different places this year while spending a glorious and amazing time in Menorca. Can't fault what was on offer in our hotel (the Globales Almirante Farragut in Cala'n Forcat). We spent so much time going back to Frankies on the high street in Cala'n Blanes, especially for a strawberry milkshake, to die for! The Yuca in Cala'n Forcat does a mean grilled sharing platter for 2. ...

This is horse racing with a difference. The 'jockeys' are in chariots and there's 6 races each Sunday. Entry is 6€ per person and each bet costs 2€. Food and drinks are available at a reasonable price. Even if horse racing/betting isn't you're thing, you're sure to enjoy this. Gates open at 5pm. The first rave was at 5.20pm. The last race was around 7.30pm.

What??? 😂
Hiya 👋 me and wife thinking of booking for a week all inclusive this week , do you recommend it , btw we are both 50 , just want sun , nice food, drink relaxed ,but of entertainment 😉 thanks
This would be perfect for you as we too are 50 somethings! 😂 Marinda Gardens was where we stayed. Snack bar wasn't overly amazing but the restaurant was OK. Plenty of drinks and variety. There are theme nights (we had a Chinese evening with sushi). We went in September when it was quieter as kids all back to school. Guests at the marinda are given free access to the water park next door (which in September we practically had to ourselves) You do have to pay for sun loungers at the water park tho which was around 3€ each. Entertainment is 'entertaining!' All the staff were lovely and friendly. There's a shop on the complex and other supermarkets at the harbour. Accommodation here is apartments with a bedroom, lounge, small kitchenette and balcony/patio. Very quiet. It's like staying in a small village. The harbour is a 5 min walk. Atmosphere here is brilliant with a mix of bars/restaurants (we recommend El Pato). There's a bus stop directly outside marinda gardens which takes 15 mins to the old town of Cuitadella, which we can't recommend enough. The lighthouse is a 10 min walk. There's a restaurant within it. The beach wasn't overly busy at this time of year. (We tend to get up early and go). Definitely worth booking up!
