Mario Kart, 30 years of fun and madness | Documentary/Retrospective on the Mario Kart series
The Mario Kart series is one of the most iconic of all time, one of the few series that is universal; we've all played Mario Kart no matter which episode it was, and we've all understood, controller in hand, that these games are special, that they have a different aura from others, that they make us feel a whole range of emotions in just a few seconds. Mario Kart games are very exotic and different from what we can find elsewhere, and yet, it's one of the few series to have successfully crossed the ages without ever disguising itself and to have achieved success with each episode. Today, in celebration of the series recently celebrated 30th anniversary, we look back on each installment of...

The PlayStation 2 chronicles, redefine modern consoles | A PlayStation 2 Documentary
Просмотров 475 тыс.3 месяца назад
In late '94, after a completely wild development journey, Sony releases the PlayStation in Japan, followed by launches in the United States and Europe a year later. Despite a rocky start, the console gains traction, benefiting from an extensive promotional campaign, the piracy rampant and, more importantly, Sega's numerous missteps with the Saturn and the lack of games on the Nintendo 64. Gradu...
The Legend of Zelda, the mysterious birth of a legendary saga | Documentary/Analysis Zelda 1 (NES)

The Legend of Zelda is not only the name of a legendary saga that has continuously reinvented itself throughout the ages, inspiring thousands of video games that followed its example but also the title of the first episode in the series, an enigmatic installment that emerged from a unique development process with the aim of creating an anti-Mario. This development was notably lengthy for its ti...
The Nintendo 64 chronicles, isolated and revolutionary | A Nintendo 64 Documentary
Просмотров 242 тыс.8 месяцев назад
The Nintendo 64 is one of the most legendary and revolutionary game consoles in history due to its atypical controller, the choice to stay on the cartridge format when everyone else has chosen the CD support, because of the exceptional games that came out on the console and because of its unusual history. Today we go back to the epic of the Nintendo 64, a console that has marked history so much...
It's stunning how strong Dreamcast started and how fast it left. It basically had 1999 and was dead by 2000.

Long-live Sony. Long-live the Playstation.
I'm 30 and realized I failed once got evicted and just didn't bother trying to dedicate time to find success or skill up. I just made coffee for money and got hammered. Looking back I regret not pushing myself to succeed after failing.
No mention of WWF or WCW? Are you Mad?
41:05 "for ¥200 or $150" 🤣 I'm pretty sure ¥200 is $1.50 not, $150. The fact that you said Nintendo was selling DLC for $150 USD with a straight face makes me think you dont know the strength of a dollar.
Isn’t mario kart 8 deluxe the most sold mario kart game? I kinda get some of his complaints, but for many people is a solid game.
Excellent documentary, thank you, I really enjoyed watching this. I remember the magic of first switching on Mario 64 and I felt it again watching this. I hope you make more of these.
The playstation was good
Enjoyed very much to watch this, as a person who have played all Mario Carts except the mobile. But one thing have to say: noob driving in this video was bad. Should had been good driving at least.
Bro.. There is no good video or retrospective of Super Mario Strikers series to watch i think every Nintendo fan would be happy if you make a good video like this one about that frenchise too..by the way keep up the good work... Subscribed🙌🔥 well deserved.
nice video.
How do you just skip over how huge of an impact GTA 3 and Metal Gear Solid 2 had on the success of the console? That MGS2 teaser at E3 had people jizzing for it.
Fantastic documentary
Why is yukio kaneoka listed as the patent holder for the disk system he's a sound guy.....
My-ah-moh toh
Steve Jobs of Japan haha
Indiana Jones was a serious yet
Where's the neo geo video
The 64 is and was a crappy system the PlayStation was and still is the superior system the 64 controller is the stupidest looking controller ever made
If FI was in zelda one id have preferred paperboy in my console
I just played a full two quest game. Took 1 hour 33 minutes.....in 1988 it would take a month with my grandfather at my side the entire way .....kill the blue tecktites they give good money
amazing documentary
You never spoke of the yellow cart repair variant or the 5/3 screw ones. I was hoping you had info on any of them
Brother please do not make another video about anything Nintendo related until you learn how to say Mario. It's not hard.
Amazing documentary, definitely one to add to my playlist! You sir have earned a sub 😁
The worst of the 3 systems at the time. With ugly blurry graphics and no games.
This video was exceptionally well done. Truly highlighted not only the uniqueness of the N64 but its impact on society. Imo...the best console ever made. I am biased bc it was my first but I haven't played a system that made me feel the same way the 64 did.
Incredible video
I still have a PS2 and I still play it. Well, I started to again back in 2022.
Beautiful video. Thank you for the history. Looking forward to more videos.
Whered u get the footage of link choosing wooden sword ir a boomerang
I just noticed you had this "translated" channel ! Great ideas ! Keep doing the good work, in french and english ! PS : I love the name of the channel by the way, hahaha
I had to go to blockbuster to rent a ps2 and just never returned it. So my mom got me mine this way, spending a small fortune on it. They were sold out EVERYWHERE. God i remember getting it in that black briefcase from blockbuster and getting it home. Knowing it was MINE! Idk if i have ever been as happy as that again lol. I was in heaven.
Great history lesson, and a shift in the market
It says aim into the eyes of ghoma....plus ghomasi or ghom in kanji translates to peirce.......plus the 5th dungeon where u need bombs to continue you can actually run out and force a restart because if u kill all available enemies they don't respawn no matter hiw many times u run around....plus the bomb upgrade is after it. U could miss it. Good luck being a first timer in level 9 with only a 8 bomb pouch
I looked-up GCraft and found some sh*t about bike modding :|
Forever dear to my heart. I believed I owned at least 3-4 ps2 consoles myself because I just could not let go of gta vice city and mgs 2/3. Oh and btw this has to be so far the best documentary on ps2 to date. It lufts up things I did not know at the time of ps2 launch..keep up the good work :)
My parents sent me to the wilderness to hike, because I guess I acted badly. At Walmart, when I finished the program, on the way home, I saw Mario 64. It had been released while I was way out there. Killer Instinct Gold!
For some reason I have no memory of buying the Nintendo 64. I know that I had it. Man, LSD is a hell of a drug😂😁😳
57:32 sony been paying developers to abandon multiplatform releases since the ps2 days baby lmao
The industry needs a men like this now in days... someone who's not scared to grabbed the bull by the horns...
My respects to Ken Kutaragi... a men in mission will never will be stop
And now Sony P.S. Microsoft's S Box, and all the rest of the CD consoles that drove their customers to stop buying games on CD and "Buy" them online, have stolen everyone's games and money
I've never heard someone call a Deku a mojo 😂
As someone who's had some experience with tech companies, I can absolutely see the explosive power someone like Ken Kutaragi was able to produce when given the reins of power. Imo, the problem with tech companies is being too lax/compromising on their product vision, ending up with half-assed product launches that make them assume the worst. "We launched the Xperia Play with negligible processing power and NONE of the PSP's library! Oh, gamers didn't like it? They must not want gaming phones ever!" If the CEO just takes their engineers and designers opinions without any pushback, then they're not going to be able to push their vision for products moving forward. Even if the Engineer is absolutely right and can't improve the product in the way the boss expects, the boss should be asking why and going over ideas on workarounds and whatever other angles there are to the problem. A great CEO's job is to be working toward a single vision of the company's future, checking in on the details and aiming each department toward that vision.
That Brazilian magazine in the middle of video got me. Brasil related.
Are these scripts AI written? They seem to loop too much...
Nostalgia hitting like brick on this one. Time when One was trully excited for new toys As a gamer since atari console and comodore i only got good memories of that area before internet was mainstream before social media the forums time ehh.
Thank you, Sony. I literally grew up with the release of every console. A child during ps1, a teen with ps2, a young adult with ps3, an adult with ps4 mixed with early parenthood to full on Father Hood with ps5.
Great video learned info that I haven’t seen anywhere else, like the game cases, and just how much Ken helped the PlayStation brand become what it is today.
