Do vietnamese from different part of country pronouce the same?

Vietnamese friends have explained to me that the heart of the problem is that Vietnamese is the only Asian language that uses the Roman alphabet, the French have converted it from its original language when they first colonized the country 200 years ago- this has resulted in considerable confusion among those raised in Roman alphabet languages such as English, French, etc. Had Vietnamese remained in its original alphabet format, transliteration would, ironically, have been much simpler...

I think the hardest part is the tonal part. The fact that you actually have to raise your pitch in the end, or you're still not right. For languages like English, that aren't tonal, that part is very hard. At least it is for me.

So in English we say, "How many 'times' do I have to tell you NO," but in Vietnamese it's, "How many 'ways' do I have to tell you NO." 😃
