Whalewatching off the coast of Fraser Island, QLD
On a weekend break up to the Hervey Bay area, we went whalewatching on a Sunday morning and saw some humpbacks doing breaches, pec slaps, and spy hops.

    Look this video is 14 years old but Martin's song Other Men had a profound effect on my life and it's bizarre that i found this twenty years after the fact. What a strange world

      Clifden´s not in a Gaeltacht area. The Gaeltacht is more to the east.

      @@RalphLavelle Allright.Has tourism improved since 2009.I personally can't see the point myself of going to galway without coming to connemara so i was surprised that just 7% of visitors to galway went west of galway city at any time.

    • @RalphLavelle

      I don't know. I left Connemara in 2003 after living there for 8 or 9 years (my Dad was from there, so we spent plenty of time there as kids) and have only ever been back on flying visits. Yeah, you should definitely go to Connemara, but don't expect much Irish to be spoken unless you go to the specific Gaeltacht areas. I got back into the Irish in Dublin a couple of years ago at a Comhaltas branch in Monkstown. I think that Dublin gets the lion's share of the tourism, then Galway, Kerry, and Killarney, but the far-flung regions like Donegal and Connemara naturally struggle to attract people. It's probably just logistics - people only have so much time to see everything.

      @@RalphLavelle I live in south sligo i have often driven down and up in the same day its not that far really and i stayed in galway city with the family last year for 3 days and spent a day in connemara national park.What i find from looking at tourist vlogs on YT is that galway is used as a base for clare and the cliffs of Moher rather than the rest of galway.Kylemore abbey is very high on the list of paid in tourist attractions though.Time is a big issue particularly for americans who usually only have 2 weeks.The wild atlantic way was and is a great idea ,but it has the disadvantage of being so long a week won't get you that you that far on the waw it probably suits continental visitors better So they have to chose where to go and get the best holiday they can.

      Ah nice - I had a friend who lived in Ballymote years ago. We all used to go down (from Dublin) for the odd weekend. Yeah Kylemore Abbey makes for a nice photo, and has some beautiful scenery around it. There's nothing like the view of the Twelve Bens or the Maamturks on a sunny day, but I can understand why people have to pick and choose where they can afford to go, timewise. I haven't been back to Connemara for two years. I'm in Brisbane, Australia now.

    You're right of course Phil, and I know it's a bit out of pace to have a full song playing like that, but I'm a big fan of Martin's (the songsmith) and to be honest unless you're an audio expert, or have perfect equipment which I certainly didn't back in 2001-2, the wind blowing is NOT something to works well on video. It's your biggest enemy, in fact. Sadly, the ambient audio for most of the footage I shot in windy Connemara had to dubbed out in one way or another.

    Be carefull, be carefull with you're treasures. I lived for a couple of years in Ireland and I saw the changes coming, all in favour of tourism and the Euro's. Beautiful places and natural sights disappeared under asphalt and concrete. Very old trees where cut down to make space for a roadrestaurant or petrolstations. Ireland is still a paradise, but the power of the land is in the silence, the space, the wind, the rainbows, in that lay the future of the country. Not in more parkingslots.

    yes we humans hate those things, but your god is meant to be a manifestation of both good and evil since that is what we are instilled with. thus god cannot love and he cannot hate because he is meant to be greater than us.

  • @Therealhatepotion
    @Therealhatepotion 12 лет назад

    so god hates what he created? he made us the way we are so its his fault. he made the devil who is "evil" that means he started the whole problem in the first place. so all evil stems from god. That makes him evil right?sounds like you need to read a science book and stop reading rubbish that should be in the recycle bin. join up to an atheist cause we dont want your money or mindless devotion. just a logical way of thinking if you can. more good has come from atheist than relgious thinking.

    Do you hate rape or murder of the innocent? What about terrorism, do you hate that? In order for God to be good, He has to hate evil, which He does.

Pathetic we atheist debate online person to person of the subject comes up. I see it as super offensive the way they act.
