Conservative site specific recombination, CSSR, Serine, Tyrosine recombinase
Просмотров 4,3 тыс.3 года назад
Conservative site-specific recombination is a process that enables genetic recombination between DNA molecules that contain short DNA sequences, which are bound by specific recombinase proteins. These recombinase proteins belong to one of two families of proteins, the tyrosine recombinases and the serine recombinases. Both recombinase families form covalent bonds between the enzyme and the DNA ...

You are decreasing twist and performing positive s.c?

This is slightly misleading... Telomeres already have a 3' overhang on one strand that is required to form a T-loop through strand invasion. This is done on both ends of a chromatid. So on each replication lagging strands which are formed on the parental strand with 3' overhang after primar remival can fold into a T-loop without much of a hassle. But as you can see in the animation leading strand has forming a blunt end that has to be trimmed to generate another 3' overhang on the daughter strand this time. So parental strand 5' terminal would be chewed up by exonuclease. So in reality the leading strand is shortened and require active makntaince by Telomerase.

thank you for this video but in 1:30 I don't understand why do we draw the molecules like that for the one at the bottom I understand because we saw that no possibility of polymerization from 5' but for the second molecule why it does not take the entire molecule?

In tyrosine recombination, tyrosine attacks 5' phosphate group rather than 3' hydroxyl group of nucleotide (Serine recombinase). Then, it creates 5' hydroxyl group and 3' phosphotyrosine. Is it correct?
