Thank god I didn’t waste my time to watch this. The animation is boring, and it’s childishly stupid fights.

Remember this was the show you were supposed to watch before seeing revenge of the sith, Disney classified this as retro starwars … so insulting… this cartoon was the literal definition of necessary cannon.

Asajj wasn’t fighting Anakin at the end. She was fighting Vader.

Grievous and asajj in the OG clone wars were absolutely terrifying.

This is the old version of the series without the star wars music. Even those shapes are disgusting in the animation. That's why it's better to watch the Clone Wars because they give more to the plot.

I remember watching this as a kid and wondering why the show was so good. Now as an adult I know it was all because of that genius Genndy.

Why has no one talked about that opening sequence?? Never has the Force been portrayed as so terrifying. What happened to those Clones was some shit out of a horror movie. Bludgeoned into trees out of the blue, one dragged across the ground and flung through the air like a bone crushed ragdoll. One was even pulled so quickly it was like he teleported, even his helmet fell off.

I'm not sure why this just popped into my recommended but im not complaining

This is a perfect example of how to tell a story with little dialog. At least no dialog of consequence. It shows Anakin as a kind of an inexperienced newb, a nod to Empire Strikes Back and what Vader does to Luke. He adapts and starts using Ventress's tactics against her. And then it has him fully embrace the dark side letting his anger, hate and thirst for revenge consume him, a nod to Luke in Return of the Jedi passing the final test, so to speak. The little glimpses of all the Jedi that Anakin sees as holding him back while his last grasp of the light side fails is powerful. A much better presentation of Anakin falling to the dark side than we got a few months later with Revenge of the Sith. And then the little homage to Big Trouble in Little China was icing on the cake. And the rain on the sabers. *slow clap*

It’s 2024 when I posted this. If you’re watching this Disney has butchered Star Wars, the Acolyte is a monumental hot trash and you want to come to a past time of when the franchise was at its peak. I hope in the future this franchise gets the justice it deserves.

Instead of wasting their money on the Acolyte they would have made some if they'd just rerun these animation style series.

They should add this in the new canon

This fight is fantastic in every way. It’s a great touch that other than the very beginning, 1:41 to 1:46 Anakin and Ventress never actually talk to each other. It kinda reminds me of the second Terminator movie: the T-800 and T-1000 never actually talk to each other even while fighting (other than the phone call and when T-800 says “Hasta Lavista, Baby.”) 6:02 , 6:32 , 6:52 and 7:17 The music, the various fighting styles, everything. This whole fight is great, but the last 2 minutes are the highlight.
