How I Reclaimed My Drive and Nailed the Rolling Ollie
This video is all about overcoming a lack of motivation and achieving something I've been working on for a while: the Rolling Ollie. 🛹
There were times when I felt like giving up, but I pushed through the doubts and laziness. In this video, I'll take you through my journey-starting from the moments when I struggled to even get on the board, to the small victories that kept me going, and finally to the sweet success of landing that Rolling Ollie. Remember, it's not about how many times you fall, but how many times you get back up.
If you're struggling with motivation, whether it's in skateboarding or any other aspect of life, this video is for you. Let's push through those mental barriers to...

    You need to jump off your back foot when it hits the ground. Practice hitting the tail and jumping and tucking. Your front foot is a bit early, wait a second before you start trying to slide. Basically break the move down into slow parts and do it without a board if you’re struggling

  • @surpriseshoveit3514
    @surpriseshoveit3514 3 месяца назад

    If you look closely, you can see that your left arm goes back in mid air and your right arm not. That’s what gives you the fs spin. Try to not move your arms so much. They should not go behind your back. Try to keep them in a line with the tail and nose of your board.

    • @pololsen

      I'll focus on this.

  • @surpriseshoveit3514

    drop the coffee. take a cold shower instead. technically you are doing it, but its a baby ollie/rocket. you cant be afraid of falling. i know it hurts 10 times worse at this age. when you go for the crouch to jump, try more of a squat posture. you'll get a better jump. you're leaning too far forward for the jump and suspending your legs from getting any air. also try tightening your trucks a little bit for balance. 6:21 was decent for beginner.

    Brilliant progress! Definitely lift your back knee more, I feel trying to tuck your knees helps me with getting height and also helps teach you to lift your front foot higher too to help with that! Also I would say invest in a bigger board, you seem quite tall and your feet seem to hang off a lot so you’ll ideally wanna be running an 8.5, that’ll also help you get balance and aim your feet back on the board easier!

    the board can only rise as high as you let it, try and jump a little more and raise your right knee - giving it time to get higher in the air before you land back on it - don’t worry too much about dragging your foot, that will come over time - if you let the board meet your foot higher up, it will balance itself out, and then you just catch with both feet and land on the bolts. hope that helps, good luck

    Im not sure if im seeing it right but it looks as if your kind of pigeon toed. Keep your back foot straight and a slight angle on the front foot

  • @joshuaclarke9916
    @joshuaclarke9916 3 месяца назад

    Practice getting your ankle to roll more to the side, this will help you get the right flick your wanting for your pop. I work my ankle when watching tv and just bending and holding in certain flick positions over and over, as well keep your front foot closer to the back set of bolts on you front truck rather than middle of the board and work out your feel from that. And yes, knees up always, i like to think of it as the asian smoke break squat 😅 you got good form man keep it up

    • @joshuaclarke9916
      @joshuaclarke9916 3 месяца назад

      Once you've mastered the start of popping and getting it as a natural feel, then start delaying your front foot slightly from the back foots pop this will allow you to pop crazy high after mastering

    Board looks a little bit too small for you, have to tried other sizes? Finding the perfect size can bring a higher and more clean dap like pop to your riding. Your ankles are not far from touching when you bring your slide foot below the bolts sometimes more space to play with can be beneficial.
