Best way to start of ones morning with n fresh cup of coffee in the middle of the bushveld.
On a resent trip to the Kruger National park this was one of the many mornings we spent watching the sunrise with birds chirping in the background and the wind rustling the leafs to wake up all the animals in the distance ready to start their day.

Camp breakfast made on a "skottel" braai in our garden. We discovered that using only one pan for everything is easier at the end when cleaning. This was made in our garden due to the Lockdown restriction of movement. It is a test run for when we can go out and explore again.

Cinnamon Buns made in a skottle. A skottle made from a used plow disk. The heat distribution is great so a list of dishes can be made on the skottle. We experimented with a couple of dishes that can be made with little effort and great results. Lockdown is not a joke so we made as much of the time we had and to plan all that we would be able to look forwards to in the future.

What to do when you are locked in your house for 21 days? We know. You make a tasty pizza with homemade dough and fresh ingredients. In this video, we used the recipe of Michela's Classic Italian for the pizza dough and my mother's homemade tomato sauce/past for the base and some mozzarella cheese and ham.

Dikhololo is a resort near the town Brits in the northwest province of South Africa. Where the wild animals greet us at our doorstep and Kudu gave us a fright, staying true to their name the grey ghost. Guineafowl greeted us every morning with their songs and a beautiful display. Driving amongst the animals in their natural habitat. Birds displaying their true colors. Sunsets to be painted.

We attended a wedding at Askari Game lodge where we also had the opportunity to meet the elephants and feed them. What a great place with great food and awesome service!
Weekend at Warthogs Bush Camp

We had a wedding at Askari Game lodge & Spa and decided to camp at the sister camp Warthogs. A lovely and quiet experience with a lot of place to sleep. There are tents , chalets and Caravan stands. A pool with a stunning view and a big fire pit.
