Making Wooden Scales For A Slipjoint Knife
Ran into your channel after looking into some leather making just for myself. Looks like you follow some of the other KnifeTubers I do too!! Subbed and liked the video.
I really appreciate the support very much. It's a great community, full of many great people. I'm happy to be a tiny part of it.
Good stuff ❤.
I thought you would like this.
Need to get you a vice to use when drilling, that bit can go through your hand
Yeah, I know. I'm trying to save for one. Good ones aren't cheap. I try and go pretty slow if I'm holding the piece I'm drilling. Never enough clamps though lol.
Awesome job
Very cool to see you make a custom tool using a rifle bullet casing. 👌Thanks for sharing, take care my friend and Cheers!
Thank you, glad you like it. Cheers

Appreciate it, brotha. There's nothing like making something that you will use every day. It's very satisfying. That was a great haul you had, bunch of good stuff. Between Kevin's(the knife doctor)videos and your last haul video, i finally started looking up and going to a couple antique stores/ flea markets in my area. I might be making a knife/tool hunt video sometime soon. Cheers
@@DimepieceCustomWorks Always more satisfying if you can make your own stuff. Definitely do that. I would like to see how you make out. Take care!

That's the great thing about the internet. There's something for everybody, and if you don't like a type of content, then there is plenty of other stuff to choose from. These videos are more instructional, not just showing the work, but describing it as well. Thank you for the feedback. Have a great day.

Good to know I'm not the only one with a bucket of railroad spikes just sitting around. 😂
@@oxyfee6486 Just walk down a railroad track, after the train goes through! lol
Could also find a railroad tie plate to use as a temporary anvil like I do. It's a great way to get started in the metalworking hobby for cheap.
wow good job bro
Sick bro. You home runned it!
Thank you, I appreciate that. Thank you for watching.
Very cool. I like messing with ferro rods , fun to customize. Yours came out very well.
Yeah, they make fun little projects for sure. Appreciate the kind words. Thank you for watching.
Great video, brother. Good step-by-step, with good editing to keep the pace. That looked like one dry old hunk of antler. Good job working with it. Oiling it really brought the life back to it. As for the tree, just going by what grows in my area, it kinda looks like poplar. Have a great evening!
Thank you, I appreciate it. Yeah it was pretty dried out. Oil can work wonders to bring life back to antler, bone, wood and leather. You'd be surprised. Appreciate the input. Thank you for watching.
Heya. Mr. Toad sent me. Good looking stuff. Slip and bead turned out really well. Good explanation of your process. Nice cleanup on the knife as well. Great video overall. Have a great day!
Thank you, singing toads a great guy. I appreciate you coming over to the channel.
Great work
What sand paper did use for the blade cause mines like that
I usually use 150 or 220(I get mine from harbor freight) first with either wd40 or rem oil to spray the blade as I sand. I recently restored a much worse condition machete on a full length video on my channel. Check it out. Thanks for the comment
That's awesome!!!
Thank you. It was a fun little project, for sure.
Fantastic work on that leather sheath and wooden bead. 😊👍 Take care and Cheers!
Much appreciated, Cheers.
Sent here by Singing Toad. Subscribed! Cool knife build! 👍 Cheers, RW
Appreciate it, thank you. Cheers
Super 🎉
Good job brother
Appreciate it. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Is that a K. Schlieper knife? I have a similar fan brand knife
It's an edge mark, also known as an edge brand. They were a popular brand out of Solingen, Germany. They were super popular in the 70s-80s in the US. Lots of different companies produced knives using similar or exact designs/patterns. The newest video on my channel shows a different model under the name edge brand. I made a factory style sheath for it. Thank you for your comment. Cheers
Always will be a attraction to them old German and Japanese stag hunting knives to lots of us who grew up in the 70 's and 80 's we just can't help it right old buddy got to save them when we can
