What do you think about the historical meaning of Isaiah 64:6? Didn't this cover the time of the exile of the Jews? Weren't they unfaithful to God and performed empty religious rituals? In Isaiah 64:12 Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O Lord? wilt thou hold thy peace and afflict us very sore? KJV Isaiah 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Foreasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men. KJV I know that an interpretation has been placed on this verse through consensus that it applies to all Christians to this very day, however, is that really what the scriptures are saying here? We are told we are to perform good works and follow the commandments, The greatest of these is to love God and love people. Jesus said if we love God we will keep his commandments. It seems it would be natural to desire to keep his commandments if we love God with all our hearts, mind , soul and might, even though we fall short at times. I don't see where we should feel like it doesn't matter what good we do, it will always be inferior in the eyes of God. I think he delights in good works, even though we are not saved by them.

Tiresome shouting. When Philip “preached” to the Ethiopian eunuch, do you think he shouted at him? Then why shout when you have an expensive head microphone hanging off your ear? Answer: because that is what we do.

Consider Isaiah 42:5-6 and 41:13 when divining James’ source reference as when a father leads his small child by the hand through an otherwise frightening circumstance.

Loved it. What a great reminder to wake up Every single day with this message on your mind...Proverbs 11:9 “Evil words destroy one’s friends; wise discernment rescues the godly. Proverbs 18:4... The words of the mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a rushing stream. Our words can certainly get us in over our heads, but they have more to do with quality than quantity. When used properly, our words can be life-giving; otherwise we may drown others including ourselves from the depth of our many useless words. Great Message!
