Hi mate I followed all the procedures to configure the gns 530 but when I turn the knobs it's the 430 that responds not the the 530 anything that I have to change in the settings please?

There’s actually a simpler more direct way to enter waypoint at current position: To capture and save the present position as a user waypoint: To capture and save the present position as a user waypoint: With the Map Page displayed, press the small right knob to activate the panning function. The target pointer appears at the present position. Press the ENT Key to capture the position and display the User Waypoint Page. A four-digit name is automatically assigned to the waypoint. To change this name, turn the large right knob to highlight the name field, then use the small and large right knobs to select a new name. Press the ENT Key to accept the selected name. The cursor moves to the ‘Create?’ action field. Press the ENT Key to save the new waypoint.

Very helpful info on loading a waypoint using lat/long. Why not also show how to load a waypoint using a radial and DME, and also show how to create a waypoint using an intersection of 2 radials?

This is a very helpful video on how to enter a waypoint using a Lat/Long position. It would be even more helpful if you also showed how to enter the waypoint using a VOR radial and DME, and also a separate demo of how to enter a waypoint using an intersection of 2 VOR radials. Those options are also on the Create page, but moving the cursor to those positions and changing the data is a challenge.

Yes, this works if you've only got a single "Direct To" waypoint in your active flight plan. But let's say you've got a previous multi-waypoint flight plan (or even an instrument approach procedure) that keeps showing up and you need to delete it and get it off the screen? Then do the following: Press the "FPL" button to display the Flight Plan page, then push on the center of the right-hand select knob ("Push CRSR"), then push the "Menu" button and then rotate the outer right-hand knob until "Delete FLT Plan" is highlighted, then press the "Enter" button, then a box will pop up saying "Delete all Waypoints in FLT Plan?", press "Enter" again, then hold-in the "CLR" button for a couple of seconds to exit out and you're done!

Thanks. It is frustrating to set a direct x-country trip; Go there; Perform a few T&Gs, then will return to base, BUT cannot get the initial trip off the screen. I assume this solves that. There is also a way of flipping the trip but I have not gotten to this yet!

The way points which you create, do they stay in the memory or they will be deleted automatically? If no, how do I delete it then?

can you create a waypoint in between already entered waypoints? like if you forget to add an intermediate waypoint/turnpoint?

Thankyou, yes that helps a lot. I see now you just put a waypoint that doesn't exist and try to enter it, then it prompts you to put in the lat/lon. Some one else posted a similar video but instead of pressing enter after they selected the lat/lon, they hit cursor and it didn't save the lat/lon they entered so that video was a failure. Thankyou for clarifying.
