This is my channel on my farming day to day and what I learn on the process of it. It's quite hard to be a smalI farmer but I try my best to make it and I hope you guys enjoy the content :)

So this was an unexpected adventure and a quick one 🫡 I love relocating animals when I have the chance to do so. I only relocated this turtle because it was brought by the recent flooding.

If you lived there as a child...then this flooding is unusual 😅😅then? Sorry for dumb question, just learning about natural weather for Belize. I'm in western Canada and we've had extreme drought for a few years now. Unnatural for here.

I also got flooded, my house is in a curve, neighbors land is higher than my land, so when it rains all the water goes from their yard to mine, a culvert was placed near the entrance of my house, it helped, but not enough, water entered the house, about 1 inch, we packed and left the house, My father went back to see the house while we stayed at my grandmothers. Man, the water had risen about say, 7 - 8 inches? Whatever the height was, mattresses, clothes, school materials, hell, even my fridge fell over even though we lifted it with 2 cement blocks lol, left a big dent in the drywall, we had to remove doors, and clean the walls. I thank my family, for they helped us a lot, my aunt had sent new mattresses, and 2 of my other aunts helped in washing clothes, I thank my grandmother too, we stayed with her till we got the house ready. But i came across your channel just today, so welcome a new subcriber!

It seems like a river but no the river is quite far away It's just that the rains were extremely heavy and the area is a bit low It's a sad reality but it happens

I'm curious, what are bamboo plants good for?
So to start of in some countries some people use it for clothes, furniture and paper but over here we only use it for furniture or just to have it planted. Some people say the leaves have medicinal purposes. Overall, bamboos help with the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere so in a way they are truly beneficial 👌🏻

Belize is an absolutely beautiful country with some of the most incredible people I have ever met. We just recently did a documentary within the country and cant wait to go back! Belize English has an almost Jamaican sound to it with other words thrown in I had never heard. It was strange how the older generations knew better Spanish but the younger generations knew better english with some not knowing Spanish at all. Very fascinating. Keep up the good work!
Indeed it is a beautiful country! Yes our creole is a mix of English and African languages that's why at times some words are English but we can fluently speak it aswell. The older generations speak more Spanish but somehow didn't taught it to their descendants but overall it's a really interesting mix! Hope you enjoy Belize 🇧🇿

Over-fertilizing the watermelon plants is what makes the leaves yellow, nitrates burn the leaves

@@LearningWhileFarming Yes, melons are originally a vine from desert regions...The soil should only be fertilized, after harvesting the fruit, a few months before planting again, so the nitrates have time to break down in the soil. Also it is ideal to water seedlings less at the very beginning, (otherwise they grow too many excess vines, instead of developing very deep roots) and increase watering once you see the tiny melons starting to form, like you do now. They need the most watering now, so the fruit can stay hydrated as it grows. The same principle for tomatoes, they grow better without any fertilization after planting, water seedlings little to force them to develop deep roots and water them often, once the small tomatoes are visibly forming

@@LearningWhileFarming Welcome...When you DO harvest your melons, God-willing..Must try to set aside melons, just to save seeds for the next season..Each time you use seeds from your last harvest, to plant a new crop, your plants will grow stronger..The genetics of the plants improve, with each growing cycle.
I'm outside of Belmopan, where are you in Belize? Seems like every region has a different growing time and method.

I would love to be a farmer someday, soon...In the meantime, I watch a lot of RUclips videos to learn about what kind of crops to plant. I'm learning about different growing methods like 'No-dig' ...hydroponics with fish tanks...greenhouse cultivation...growing drought resistant crops and creating 'food forests' ...I've realized that it's best to diversify as much as possible..For example many farmers in Africa are getting rich growing dragon fruits..because it propagates through cuttings, it's a cactus so needs little watering and it sells expensive to hotels and restaurants because it's considered a luxury fruit. Maybe you should consider venturing into those exotic fruits.
Yeah farming is pretty amazing If you study the market and the area Exotic fruits are really good I mean it's a big expense to start but when done the profits should be really good. Goodluck farming 🚜
