System Shock (Remake) Glitchless speedrun in 1h 3m 33s
For context, I was in the process of uploading a 1h 6m 23s speedrun, and while that was being uploaded here, I managed to get this run. So instead, this recording is being uploaded, and the splits have been compared to that 1:06:23 run. I thought that run was pretty optimized at the time, with the only major time loss being through the bridge floor. However, I did manage to save around 1:30 going into bridge.
In terms of splits, the only split that was done late was Beta grove, mainly cause the focus was more on not dying than anything. Aside from that, any future runs doing the same route (assuming I get all the splits on time) will have an accurate measurement of pace than the previous/c...

System Shock (Remake) Glitchless Speedrun in 1h 8m 31s

This is the first time I've ever been speedrunning before, and considering how much I enjoyed playing this game, I figured I would have a go. And well, I never expected to get to this point. Some details about the run: the difficulty is set to 1-1-1-1, time started when confirm was hit on the difficulty menu and ended as soon as the final cutscene started. Depending on whether the time is start...
you can beat the original on 0 0 0 0 difficulty in like 4 minutes
can someone show me where you found abe's head for the retincal scanner?
Headshot after headshot. Just perfect
impressive...
Just got my 3/3/3/3 completion following most of this method. Took me closer to 4 hours because some areas are so much harder on 3. Went into the final reaver fight with just a shotgun and 10 rounds plus the rapier. It was a very close fight 😅
"Brain activity Satisfactory" 😂
451 - does anyone remember that from original game? :-)
Wow, I did not know about a lot of these secret doors
Poor Shodan. All these plans and backup plans, and then some weird guy comes along, starts blasting, blows himself up, and destroys the whole station in under 1 hour 🤣
great run of the best remake of all time 👍
If you get that keycard in executive do you not even need to do the cyberspace section?
You need to do cyberspace to unlock the Beta Grove. The Beta Grove is also the second node in that cyberspace, so you can't just stop at the first one.
reactor code doesnt randomise at first mission difficulty its always the same
not true. I checked his another video on easy, the code is different
@@frooktoviy okay im not sure how game works
Very nice run!
How are you getting the random codes? like the one for exec that's normally on a wall monitor or the laser safety override code from the library? Does the difficulty setting determine if those are static or random codes?
Exec's wall monitor codes only have eight possible codes. If you rerun the game you'll notice a few familiar numbers. This means you have a 1/8 chance of guessing correctly first try if you already know the list, and you can reduce that to a 1/4 chance if you've seen the monitors at least once to reduce the number of codes possible.
@@Kaleidio Is there a "cheese" for this on 3/3/3/3? I know the codes are random there but I wondered if they weren't "random" in that there are only 20-30 possibilities you can try.
"Make yourself comfortable, hacker, and... why do you kill yourself with a gas grenade?"
you're cracked. amazing run
Shodan be like: "Insect, how can you challenge a perfect... wait! What are you doing there? No, don't... and it's broken. Great. Well, I will mobilize my forces an level 1... errm... 2... 3??? To get you!" 😂😂
How did you get the laser override code? Isn't it randomized each run?
Yes it is
Can you do a glitchless 3333 run for the achievement?
I'm studying this for my own 3333 run, and honestly just do what he does except fight your way through as carefully as you see fit, finding and using charging pylons as necessary, maybe take a side trip early to pick up a shield. You're not going to rack up 9 hours of backtracking and battle. The achievement seems straightforward given the path laid out here, even with the greatly increased combat difficulty. So long as you rely heavily on energy weapons and careful combat you're not going to need to go out of your way for additional consumables. Diego and the Reavers (sounds like an 80s band) will be tough, but nothing a grenade launcher loaded with EMP and a laser rapier can't take out. Now, a 3333 actual glitchless competitive speedrun? That's something to take up with the forums/discord. I don't know if there's any interest in the category, but if nothing else someone might submit their successful achievement run! To the best of my knowledge there's no such category or videos posted for 3333 yet.
Very Nice dude!
