I’m 32 now and was 13. Great memories and I’m & Arsenal fan since 6 years old but Mourinho running down the touch line after that late goal is a moment that will be shown again & again.
Porto is a great team and well deserved champion that year, but this teach you lesson, every champion need some luck even if it's a little bit, even the dominated barca team back in 2009 need some luck against chelsea
LFC fan here but man u where robbed in that game after they scored a perfect second only to be called off for a fake office 1st half... Where is VAR when u need it!
Porto won only thanks to the refereeing. The fucking russian referee disallowed Scholes second true goal. In the match with 1/2 Deportivo, the referee also helped them by not awarding 2 penalties against Porto. It's s shame! If the team wins only thanks to refereeing, such a team is worthless.
If there was justice in football porto would have lost 5....6 - nil . Also ... But with no surprise porto finishes a game without seeing a red card ... Astonishing.. Every weekend for the last 30 years we see disallowed goals just like that .. but its always in favor of the same team . Lets not forget this is the same team with ronaldo , rui costa and figo that lost twice against Greece ..
Funny thing is, I could say the exact same thing about the first game. Manchester United, miraculously, managed to leave Dragão with a defeat of only 2-1, without knowing how to read or write during the entire game. And the refereing was one of those "UEFA-chic", doing the possible and Impossible for the 'pretty team' (MU) to win during the entire game. For the much that Porto played on that game, and for the MU's football quality that at points reached the level of 'pathetic', that first leg could have been 3-1, 4-1 or 5-1, and no One would have been surprised.

Shame VAR wasn't operating back in 2004 - Scholes's second goal would have stood (he was being played onside by at least two, possibly three defenders), Porto would have been out of the Champions League and the "Special One's" route to future 'celebrity' managerial fame might never have seen the light of day?

For those crying about the disallowed goal i want to inform you there is a foul by van nistelrooy, who, according to the comentator, "struck pedro emanuel [by pushing him]". Plus, i recommend you guys to watch the 1st leg and the way man united players, especially defenders... and Roy Keane, of corse, used violence against Porto players with the referee complacence.
van nistelrooy made a foul pushing pedro emanuel, even the commentator says he "struck pedro emanuel". By today's standards the goal would have been disallowed easily
Lmfao at that point Ronaldo was completely unproven, scoring like 5-10 goals a season. It wasn’t until around 2008 that he really became what we know today
Bad goalkeeping and bad referee.. clear goal for 2 0
Tim howars best goalkeeping

Scholes was a mile onside.
Ronaldo before all the plastic surgery and steroids
A young Ferguson would of smacked Jose but being older he quite liked his attitude
Porto goal was offside
Offside
Robbed. Scholes' goal wasn't offside.
fake, unfair win. scholes was on 100%
For real. And the bastard didn't even consult with the VAR 🤬
Man united won many times like that too
Great cross by O'Shea. Terrible offside decision by the linesman saved Porto. 3:30
Scholes was more onside, in todays game & rules etc, thatd be allowed 😅😊
Porto is a great team and well deserved champion that year, but this teach you lesson, every champion need some luck even if it's a little bit, even the dominated barca team back in 2009 need some luck against chelsea
I think that was a little bit more than luck against chelsea
Was away goal rule a thing back then?

That goal keeping from Howard at the end was comedic

F.C Porto eliminated M.United brilliantly, in both games. And on the first game, could have won by 4 or 5.
I guess you can’t just buy in championships..
Terrible pitch
Second goal Scholes is wasnt offside😂
Ohh shut up

It looks like i'm playing FIFA Soccer 2003 on ps1 😍🎮

If there was var we would have never heard of Mourinho
Wah wah wah
Any game when Man Utd lose or go out is a good game.
20th anniversary!
Paul schools being caught "offside" is hilarious if you look at it today. Sometimes i wonder why it took so much time to implement VAR.
Completely robbed in this game. Scholes's goal was completely onside.
What a beautiful kick from Benni
Funny how history could be so different. With VAR, that scholes goal was a yard onside. Joes wouldn’t have won the champions league.
Two players clearly playing Scholes onside for what should have been his second goal of the game ! Mourinho one lucky guy there.
Terrible save from howard 😂😂😂
Howard lost a bit of balance with the muddy pitch.

Jose winning the champions league with Porto is why he’s the greatest manager in the world.
Should never have got anywhere near it, because there's two players clearly playing Scholes onside for the second goal which was ruled offside.

He was injureded.

Good goal by scholes disallowed for offside and an extremely soft freekick given which ends up in a goal. Talk about luck and fate.
I was there in K-Stand and that offside decision was that bad we could see that Scholes was onside.
