The Best Kind Of Quest - Monster Hunter World Episode 4
I quite enjoyed seeing the Barioth fight. He is another classic MH monster like Rathalos and Barroth, one I have fought many times. I love Barioth's look and his crazy catlike movement.
35:00 perfect dramatic ending
23:32 W
Velkhana is a fun fight too.
Well I guess we will see about that.
Sabertooth cat
Man IDK even I during my childhood called them Sabertooth cats, but then during my teens I constantly saw them being called Sabertooth tigers. I guess it doesn't really change anything since they will still be cats so call them whatever you want.
Good old Barioth. He is much harder in World than in MHP3rd.
I am assuming he is still a bastard in every game he appears in.
I like fighting Fulgur Anjanath the most.
I'd rather have poison Pukei. I hate Coral's waterjet
Yeah that dual water gun attack was really annoying. Though cutting his tail to disable his water gun from back there was a cool touch.
That was a fun fight to watch. You were smashing the crap out of him but then he started to show signs of life and put up resistance toward the end.
This is nothing compared to what happens next.
2:23 LOL nice use of sound effects
Thank You.
This guy got smashed.
Energy drink dispels sleep (and also extends your stamina bar)
I would recommend finding the cat tribes in each map. They are basically an extra party member that can assist you depending on what they specialize. Each tribe, if you do their mini-quest, also gives a palico gear that has different uses.
Yeah I did that for ancient forest, wildspire wastes and coral highlands. Not sure how to do their quests though.
For Wildspire, you have to catch the three missing cats. Use ghillie suit and use the capture net after sneaking up on each one. Coral iirc you need to hunt the Tzitzi. I don't remember the Elders Recess quest, probably another hunt. Hoarfrost Boaboa tribe, after you find their nest, they will give a quest to hunt the Beotodus.
So, to know if you can cut off the tail, in the monster notes under the Rewards section of a monster: it is has a "Carve" box in the monster diagram, the tail can be cut. Otherwise it can only be "Broken" where the tail stays on the monster but you get a chance at a common or rare reward.
Yeah I checked that long ago. I am not sure about the Paolumu but the legiana's tail was shown as red and breakable on the diagram, but i never managed to cut it off.
@@PoisonousFlame-2001that is what I meant by "Broken"
Sleepytime bat. Pep jewels make him a joke
Really appreciated the sleep. Did not appreciate the wake up slap.
17:45 LOL you all needed a nap before continuing the battle...
Viper Tobi is a fun fishing buddy. He just sits behind you watching you fish 😅
I know what you mean about the difficulty jump, or at least I remember it from rank to rank.....I think that the game just wants to rehumble you with the basic monsters each time you've overcome everything it has to throw at you. I don't remember it being so bad in the older games that I couldn't beat the initial monsters of the higher rank with the equipment from a top monster of the previous rank. Having said that, I haven't played World, and also, I really was not good at monster hunter for the entirety of my first game I played....so everything felt overly difficult and unfair most of the time. It still does now, even 4 games deep, but I have more understanding of how deep the combat, item and equipment systems are in enabling you to overcome challenges, so I look past the frustration. That's the same thing I do with the souls series, essentially.
Nice job defeating the snowy goat lord under challenge conditions: (no hot drinks)
2:45 those snow graphics look really cool
Always bring hot drinks and collect hot peppers in Hoarfrost Reach. Drink that every 10 minutes or so to keep the cold away. That is why your stamina kept going down. And bring rations to keep your stamina topped up. Hoarfrost is like Elders Recess lava areas where there is constant environmental effect.
Jumps in difficulty: it has always been like that. Master Rank (formerly G-Rank in older games) was created because people wanted a harder challenge than what Low and High Rank had to offer.
That monster was really intense 😮
16:40 you just have to buy the power and armor charms once - they give you the buff as long as they are in your inventory.
Told you the bazel fight was fun 😂. This is my fave quest to hunt whenever I want to play with my mind partially turned off.
I love Seliana. The layout makes moving through my hunt routine much faster. AND the tailrider thingy is outside. No longer need to go indoors or to the research base. I also prefer Granmeow Chef.
Ah the Popos... Popo tongue quest anyone?
A new adventure awaits
The double tempered bazel fight is fun 😊
Congrats on beating the main quest of your first MH game! It was fun to watch someone experience this all for the first time. I will say that now that I have seen this game, I can understand why people say it's the easiest in the series. Not to insult your abilities, because you are definitely a good player, but generally I would expect to see a lot more intensity out of the monsters. I feel like this game probably seemed too easy for you, coming from the Souls series, but I swear to you that most Monster Hunter games are just as difficult as Souls games. I am hoping that there are some real bastards in the Iceborne DLC - looking forward to seeing!
@@erikmclennan3934 oh there are some... inreresting...monsters in the DLC
Will you be playing Iceborne?
Yes
Start bringing a farcaster whenever you head out. You can make or buy it. Farcasters can be used mid combat to teleport back to camp so you can resstock.
It was just baby. Why were you so mean? 😢
Well considering he almost killed one dude, I would say he/she idk which, was definitely asking for a beating. 😈
7:55 it's a new mega evolution of Salamence
LMAO
I understand why people are very upset and even fed up with Nintendo for constantly rushing out the Pokemon games, and I do understand that in one sense, I am part of the problem for continuing to buy them. Do you have an email? Maybe we could collaborate some time - we could have debates or discussions on video games over Zoom or whatever. We could talk Pokemon, FromSoftware, or any other interesting subject. If you wanna talk about that, send me an email, which you can find on my channel page.
The fight isnt so bad as long as you slot in the effluvium resist gems. His variant in iceborne is a massive pain in the butt for me though
I would recommend doing the quest line to get temporal mantle. Free 5-6 auto evades from monsters
If I am right that is the quest given by the armourer right ?
@@PoisonousFlame-2001 probably. I only remember it is all optionals and followed the wiki
Teostra is such a cool looking monster. It looks like you didnt struggle too hard against it, which is good for you although I prefer to see a bloody struggle 😅. I am guessing that there is some other elder dragon causing a fuss with these elder dragons.....or perhaps it is some other manifestation of zorah magdaros.....
Welp guess we will see if this new location or the new DLC has any bs to throw at me.
26:35 LOL, the classic MH mistake! Quickly run back to the tail in less than 60 seconds!
Yeahhhhh I definitely did not forget about that.
Hey, that Resuscitate armor skill that activated for you is decent! "Improves evasion and reduces stamina depletion when afflicted with abnormal status effects"
I love Resuscitate. It is almost on every armor I have. Pairs well with Blight Res and Coalescence
@@NovaGirl8 I've never played World, only 3, 4 and Generations about halfway thru High Rank so I've never even seen that skill before, or Coalescence.
I think that is from the jewel i put on the armour.
10:30 there is an item called "cool drink" that you are supposed to stock up on when you fight in a hot place. It stops your health from constantly dropping.
Ohh..... I did not even knew thats what they did LMAO.
3:00 Wow thanks for the shout out! Lol you are right! I should have thought of Corviknight which looks a lot more similar to those crows from Bloodborne ....what can I say, I am still obsessed with Gen 1 😂 I am sad to hear you don't like Scarlet and Violet haha I really enjoyed those. I can understand if the bad performance turned you off, but for me I just really enjoyed the open world format, and the story was truly top notch in that game IMO.
I will respond to your S/V in the next episode but in short while the game maybe fun coz it still has the original pokemon formula which is what most people including myself love, but in short the game is clearly rushed and poorly made with bad textures terrible lighting no set mode lack of interiors which used to be a staple and the worst part is that they copy pasted the linear pokemon formula into an open world game which causes a lot of problems since pokemon games are your team level first and skill second unlike souls game where you can take on any threat at level 1. If you want a more in depth analysis of how bad S/V are, check out the video titled, "The Most Successful Death on Arrival - The Pokémon Scarlet/Violet Video Essay" made by a youtube channel named Accoustic Harmonia. It is 7 hours long so you can use chapters to see whichever aspect you would like to know more about. It is the best review of S/V on the internet IMO. He has also released a 3 hour long review of the DLC but I have not watched it yet Also I know this may kill my opinions credibility but i never played S/V, I just watched Alpharad, Moxie2D and MandJTV play the game so my opinions are based on those playthroughs. Though there playthroughs are apparently more pleasant than what most people got for their S/V experience.
Kushala is frustrating to fight due to the tornadoes
Very true. Though at least he does not damage you with those attacks always for some reason.
23:30 that is weird that the max potion didn't increase your max HP.....did you take a meal before this quest that already moved your max HP to its maximum value? That's probably the reason.
I am pretty sure that is not the case since when i farmed the nergigante, i always ate a meal and still got my hp buffed by max potions.(I used the defender set for that farm due to faster kills and that armor gives me more HP than this armor and meal combined).
14:15 I googled Agitator. It gives you a small boost to attack and affinity when a large monster you are fighting becomes enraged. Sweet!
Thanks for the effort.
10:50 I just googled the Maximum Might skill and apparently if you leave your stamina full for several seconds it becomes active: once it's active, you get increased affinity (critical hit%) for a small period of time or until you use more stamina. So basically you will sometimes get some extra damage if you stay at full stamina.
So, it supports light attacks more, cool.
7:50 I am the same! Tail cutting is so satisfying, it gets you an extra monster part, it reduces their hitbox, and it's one of the advantages of a slicing weapon. I liked how some dragons could have their tails cut in the earlier souls games - I wish I could cut Midir's tail!
I only do it since the tail attack is easy to see coming and it usually is a weak point. Yeah being able to cut the tails of dragons in other souls games would be fun. (Though in DS1, most of those weapons sucked anyway due to not having any scaling and requiring dragon scales to upgrade),
Is that the nergigante SwAxe? Looks really cool with those spikes
Yes it is.
