    ***I misspoke when I said, "as well as placebo". What I meant was, as well as the medication that treats the same ailment. But take anything I say with a grain of salt and do your own research. I am not an "influencer" nor will I ever have a desire to be. "Influencers" scare me. They are not all-knowing yet so many people lap up their content without question and no further research. I don't claim to know everything even though I may be emphatic or passionate at times based on my own research and experiences. But things change, new studies come about and I can just be flat out wrong! Don't just accept something because it fits your narrative. Question not only what you read and hear but yourself too! I've changed my views over the years because of new understandings. I try to be more balanced and not be so anti one thing or another because there are pros and cons to everything. Hello and thank you for watching! Lack of oxygen does kill most bugs that aggravate us by invading our food...but there are some organisims and bacteria that are anaerobic. I don't always freeze my grains before packing...but I do put them in the freezer just in case I can't get around to dry canning/packing them right away. 😊

      Hello! Thank you for watching and sharing. Glad this was helpful for you. Just a heads up..they mainly cater to the Amish so are a bit "old school" in their ordering system. They don't do online orders like we are used to. You would need to call them and do the order over the phone. If you live far away and have to have it delivered, you'll need to give them a location that will support a semi-truck. Also, depending on the size you get, you may need a trailer or a uhaul and two people. My hubby and I got very lucky using our truck...but was a close call as we have an 8ft bed truck and the size we got was 15ft but we barely made it work. Thankfully, we only live about 3 miles from where we picked it up and no cops stopped us!! 😆 Hope it works out for you! It was well worth it for us!

    What kind of foods would you recommend freezing for killing bugs

    • @littleladybugpatch
      @littleladybugpatch 2 года назад

      Hello! Thank you for watching and reaching out. If I am unable to pack food long-term, I put it in the freezer until I can get to it later. Foods that can be frozen are grains like; rice, wheat, spelt, etc, and flours. I don't worry about freezing pasta, etc, just more-so the whole grains that still have the complete nutrients that bugs are most attracted to. Hope that helps! 😉

    There is no pricing on website for ordering no email for this company and there is no way to reach them unless you call during unknown hours of operation and figure in the time zone as well. Kind of useless to even mention them or include any website info if there is no way to shop their site. Bummer because i really love your clothesline and was ready to order a 10 ft version for my house i have 2 dogs 2 cats 4 adults living with me and running the bills up with just my income and one of the adults handing me over $100 its harder and harder to stretch an already see through dollar bill ive squashed that nickle so hard i squeezed a bugar out of washingtons nose. But....the oven canning has the purpose of eliminating bugs, larvae, etc. by heating it? Just pouring into a jar is just changing the package...in my view. How can you be sure that this system kills those unwanted creatures?

    • @littleladybugpatch
      @littleladybugpatch 2 года назад

      Hello and thank you for watching! :) This method does the same thing but with less time, energy and cost. This is the way almost all of the products purchased from the Home Storage Center are prepped for long-term. The only difference is they use metal cans instead of glass. A link is in the description for the Home Storage Center if you are interested. I still have a lot of stuff I purchased from them in 2012 that are "dry canned" but started doing my own to save money after the lady who volunteers at the storehouse told me about how to do this. There are many effective ways to store food long-term. This is just my preference...with Mylar bags coming in 2nd. Another consideration is...you can't heat up Mylar bags as you can with glass jars...but it is the Oxygen Absorbers that are key in using the glass jars or the Mylar bags. I'v e had no issues with any spoilage or bugs in all of the years I've been doing this. ;)

    We have a Native Pecan tree, and sorry, but that machine just doesn't work well enough. I want Mostly Pecan halves when I shell our Pecans. I know it takes more time and effort, but the York Texan Pecan Shelling "Pliers" tool works perfectly. I can Shell a bowl full of our Native Pecans and have almost 100% whole haves when done. That machine and every other "cracker" I've ever seen you'll get maybe 15% halves and the rest smashed nuts. Heck their sight even says it's not for Native Pecans. When someone comes up with a machine that can crack / shell our native pecans ( not paper shells) that works like the York Texan shelling tool does, well then I'll get one of those. Until then, I've got to get crackin...

    • @littleladybugpatch
      @littleladybugpatch 2 года назад

      Thank you for watching and for your feedback. 😊 I like the halves for roasting and the small bits for toppings. I have found after using it a few times, that, while it doesn't take long to Crack a lot nuts, it takes longer to separate the shells from the nuts. I ended up buying a soil sifter that has different size holes in each one to help speed up the process. www.amazon.com/gp/your-account/order-history/item/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_pop?ie=UTF8&gen=canonical&itemId=mnkmmqqnlmrsun&orderId=114-9082149-3741802&packageId=1&returnSummaryId=&returnUnitIndices=&returnUnitMappingId=&shipmentId=UW2c1GT0L

    • @littleladybugpatch
      @littleladybugpatch 2 года назад

      I am happy to help! The Azure gift cards never expire. 😉 I've used my Azure Cash to buy gift cards for others. You want to do a gift card order separate from your regular order and do it as Parcel Shipping not a drop. Now, if Azure is behind on fulfilling Parcel Orders, and if your Azure cash is about to expire, then there is a chance the Azure cash would be lost/expire before it ships out. I had ordered two gift cards recently and it took over a month for Azure to get to my order and ship them out to me. Azure Cash expires if customers don't order for 4 months or more. If you order regularly, you won't lose you Azure cash and can save it up like I do. 😁 Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

    • @littleladybugpatch
      @littleladybugpatch 2 года назад

      I am sorry to hear that. I am happy to try to troubleshoot with you. Here might be some things to check. *if the absorber is a defective one, it will be hardened and would need to be replaced with a new one. *it could also possibly be that the seal on the canning lid may be defective and might need to replace the lid. *may also be a sizing issue, i.e., the absorber not matching the size of the canning jar. If the jar is big, like a 1/2 gallon canning jar and a quart size absorber is being used, it likely won't seal. Hopefully some of those might help figure it out. Thank you for watching!😊

    I'm trying to get started. 😩 But I confused due to differing information. Other videos say not to freeze because of conditions issues. And if you leave out after freezing your defeating the purpose because Now they are not sterile anymore. 😣😖🤯

      Thank you for watching. I'll do my best to answer your question and concern. Not everyone will have the freezer space to freeze large amounts of grains. I happen to have the extra space. I do freeze my grains if I can't get around to repackaging them in a short time frame. But I don't freeze all of my grains but that would be my ideal. But, big grain farms and warehouses don't freeze grains while being stored, most will keep the warehouse cool which helps with bug issues. If I wait too long to repackage them, they may hatch out buggers as not all insect eggs can be seen by the naked eye. The freezing cold inhibits and most times kills any bugs and most eggs. When I have frozen some grains and am ready to repackage into jars or mylar bags, I take my grains out of the freezer and let them get to room temperature. I sterilize my jars and lids in the dishwasher and let them dry. I then fill my jars up and pop in the O2 absorbers and quickly put on the canning lids. The O2 absorbers will seal the jars and also kill anything in the jar that survives on oxygen since the absorber absorbs the oxygen. So if there are any eggs that survived the freezing process, they will likely be killed at this point as long there is a good seal on the jar. Hope that helps. A great channel to check out that also goes into detail about the different options for storing grains is The Provident Prepper. 😊
