Burdan, Brandywine Museum of Art Senior Curator and Emily Zilber, Wharton Esherick Museum Director of Curatorial Affairs & Strategic Partnerships, this program brings together two artists who had much in common but who likely never met, although their studios were only about 20 miles apart.

I am delighted with your Victorian house! There are so many details that simply delight. I was impressed by the paintings on the walls, everything is so realistic. Of course, a huge like and subscribe to your channel. I am also fond of miniature dolls and invite you to see my Victorian dollhouse. ruclips.net/video/ZLbmlNKFkB8/видео.htmlsi=V6N9u_fqcJ1kbLqY . This may be the only recording where John Wilmerding talks about his grandmother, Electra Havemeyer Webb at some length. These conversations with her took place around the time he gave her a copy of his 1960 undergraduate thesis on Fitz Hugh Lane. At the same time she was pursuing conversations with Boston collector and philanthropist Maxim Karolik, about buying drawings and paintings by Fitz Henry Lane (as it was discovered much later that that was the artist's actual real name). These works by Lane and other 19th Century American painters were the first pieces of fine art she bought for the Shelburne Museum, and the last major collection of work she purchased before her death in November 1960. It's a fine reminiscence of his last and most substantive conversations with the family member who most inspired the future direction of his life.

I did see this exhibition and thoroughly enjoyed it. Many of his paintings capture rural life in the 1960s and 70s. Uprooted trees allow sunlight into the forest and decay enriching the soil. When livestock dies they too are returned to the earth. Our climate can be harsh and frightening however life goes on. There is nothing more dangerous than a buzz saw, but it was once the best way to rapidly produce firewood. I suppose that what is really unsettling is that our society has lost touch of the lives of our parents and grandparents. But of course this is merely my humble interpretation. Gotta find the artist's, and Kyle's, sense of humor in "The Cat Museum. Thank you for this exhibition.
