Nom nom home cooked meals are the best! 💗 hope you recharge well!
The end of the year is always so hectic! There’s so much to spend money on too 💸
Bubble tea boosts🧋 Make sure to eat well Maeil!
Thank you 🐶🎄🌟
Big Way hotpot dailyhive says would open in Jan/Feb 2025 at UBC. Soup adds $10 additional cost usually. Chocho near Metrotown (and now second location Richmond) is all you can eat hotpot is pretty good. Marble House Eatery for Tuesday for seniors 65 or older is only $20 all you can eat hotpot which is price of a bowl of ramen noodles. Successful business model as they can open same distance as Starbucks locations and still earn a decent profit and kept busy.
Is chocho good?? I saw too many instagram ads but I wasn't sure if it's worth it 🫢 AND I.CANT.WAIT. for bigway at UBC. I hope they won't overcharge... the Chipotle at UBC has such tiny portions :(
@@DailyMaeil The businesses at UBC often are independent or group owned vs. corporate owned so if students accept lower portions or lower quality ingredients that is cost cutting. I assume same business model but prices per 1kg weight could be higher or some other charges. I do like Chocho and go there once every 2 months. The price since Sep 2024 has gone up. It is $53 a person + tax + tips. It depends on what food and how much you can eat. The varsity athletes and hungry students who seem like they have not eaten well for an entire week make their money back. Otherwise it is trying different food. The premium meats if you buy at grocery store would be $8-10/pound without it being sliced. I would say eating 5 pounds of higher priced food earns your money back. I actually plan to go to Chocho in about 10 hours for lunch.
Ooo!! $53 per person is actually pretty good for ayce. Wish you did a vlog too 🤣 and share all the things you know, it'd be interesting
@@DailyMaeil Objectively it is pretty decent for Vancouver and surrounding areas. Globally, friends who have lived in other major cities have commented it is average compared to New York, Shanghai and other major cities with fine dining. I mostly make USD so with a rising USD, cost of living has stayed relatively stable in Canada for me. In the US, a similar hotpot AYCE place would cost $53 USD. A vlog is a lot of work. Plus with part of my work being legal/investigative, anything I put up online could end up in a court or discussed in a meeting by opposition. Perhaps after I no longer take on that part of work and only focused on business/scientific. Merry Christmas!
@moldenm5239 Wowow very interesting 🫢 well Merry Christmas to you too!! 🎄🩷
Chemistry is about doing a bit each day, and it will add up. You learn the pieces, understand the concepts, and then assemble them like a puzzle. The people who memorize unless they have a photographic memory often fail as it gets more and more complex. E.g. if it reaches 13 step synthesis reaction. Aquaphor and similar products some years are 50% off Boxing day at Superstore if they have it as part of gift set / travel pack. A bigger issue is rising cost and falling Canadian dollar will make things more expensive especially if imported but still cheaper than if bought in US. Hope you enjoy your break.
Chem definitely killed me when it got to 293393920th steps hahaha and yes I kinda forgot that superstores have aquaphor lipbalms too!! Definitely must check it out. Thank you!! 🩷
@@DailyMaeil Shoppers had the gift sets at 67% off so a $25 gift set item valued individually $30+ was selling for $8.34 and mom bought a bunch of different ones while I was asleep. It sold out quickly early morning. I assume online sellers also stocking up as inventory. By noon, nothing cheap expected. Superstore didn't have anything at all this year so either sold out at 50% off or they had better inventory management so there is already little left after Christmas.
The bakery calls it green bean pie/綠豆酥 but it's mung bean.
Oh I see it's mung bean!! Thank you now I know what it actually is 🫢👀
Have a good week Maeil! See you on week video 💗
Thank you!! 💕 See you next week! 😄
Finally no assignments!!!
Gambare 🍀🍀🍀
Take some rest and feel better soon unnie 🥺
Good luck on finals and sleep important too. UBC Chemistry has similar focus on 80% standard situation cases (which most colleges focus on) as it does with 20% exception cases. Exams feel like 50% standard cases and 50% exceptions/multi step synthesis combining concepts.
Thank you!! 🩷 And yes the integrated concept questions are seriously the toughest for me haha I always end up getting lost half way not knowing which rules to use 🥲 Thanks for letting me know!!
Good luck! I know you will do very well :)
Thank you!! 🫡🩷
congrats!
Thank youu!! 🐧💛

What's the difference between ImVista and regular multi vitamins? It is $4-5 each online. One of the best Novembers with good weather and sunshine I can remember. Brave New World interesting read as some of the themes or ideas tried in 1930s even failed ones are playing out again today and can see parallels.
ImVita is like the super concentrated vitamins (mostly vitamin C) and it's from Korea. I only take it when I'm feeling super tired! And yea I love fictions like 1984 and Brave new world that unveils the true human instincts, fragile minds, and the control haha
🐻💕
waiting for the Christmas vlog in UBC 😅
Haha I'll see if I could join some of the Christmas events in UBC after my finals! 🤣🎄✨️
Curious what are the current topics discussed for inflation. E.g. things more expensive, the declining dollar. Inflation is the rate that prices would rise so things will not be cheaper. This November weather has been one of the nicest. Previously it was expected for November to be 27 days rain/cloudy and 3 days of sunshine.
Yeah, it was just like how both of our grocery bills went up, job search is getting more difficult even with degrees, and how it's much harder to get up early nowadays because it's still dark & cold at 7am 🌡🤦♀️
Keep up the great work!
Thank you! 🤠✨️
I watch the videos though the recent ones are shorter and just above 1 min. Finals are getting busier I guess. Keep up the great work and consistency.
@@moldenm5239 yes :( I shortened every clip between each transition so it became barely a minute long 🥲 end of the term is definitely hectic but I'll keep doing my best! Thank you!

@@aIbertI2798 haha maybe someday! For now, I'm just treating this as a simple record of my everyday life for memories 🌝 but I've been thinking about it! Because I don't want to take too much time blurring things out 😆

Love this mukbang day! <3

The baked goods would be either issues during the creation process like not enough mixing and/or they sold you day-old stuff where it dried out. Curious about what monetary amount for birthday gifts are spent for university students. I have seen $25-50 and then I have seen people giving cameras, phones, laptops, etc. I wish I was young enough again to not have to worry about eating too much sugar, foods that could increase cholesterol and not gaining any weight from it. E.g. 5 days of healthy eating to balance out 2 days of not so healthy foods. Pretty high quality of life compared to when I was an undergrad student.
Yea! Maybe it was a day-old pastries 😕 I usually spend $60-70 for birthday gifts! We don't go crazy over budget 😂 Haha my care-free food days are almost over too... It's definitely getting easier to gain weight now!! 😵💫
Good luck with your presentation! 💗
Thank you! 🐥💕
My favourite protein powder is the Isolate (the white and orange container) right beside the one you picked up, in the peanut butter chocolate flavour. Would recommend :)
Thank you so much for the recommendation! I’ve been needing a good suggestion like this, and peanut butter chocolate sounds amazing-especially since I love the almond butter taste in a blueberry acai smoothie 😋 I really appreciate it! 🐥💕

Happy to hear your almost done your lab course! 😄Just out of curiosity, did UBC experience any power outages yesterday? 😅
@@katsuedon omg area right next to my residence had an outage yesterday! 😆 I wished for an outage to skip the lab but unfortunately we were fine lolol but I was definitely checking BC hydro website the whole night 🤣🤣
@@DailyMaeil oh you were hoping for an outage? 😅Those labs must be absolutely brutal then 🤣. As much as I hate to admit it, I would've liked a day off from work as well HAHA

Thanks for this video, UBC is my dream university can you make a video on the UBC application guide and personal profile
Hi! 🩵 I'm a transfer student, so my application process was a bit different. I don't think my experience will be much help, but let me know if you have any questions! 👻✨️
@@DailyMaeil Thank you! I’ll reach out if I have any questions. 🙂
Starbucks decided to consolidate its locations a few years back and open new ones that take less space with take-out orders or mobile orders only. Great production. The room looks like $400+ a night. Definitely took time too to ensure the face was not in any of the video shots and multi-mirrors in the room and to keep high production quality. E.g. Hours to edit. We catch a glimpse at 7:24 reflecting off the steel dish. The foods are pretty high-calorie western diet and high sugar. I assume $1500+ spent. A lot more done than for most parents. if I were a parent, this would be beyond expectations even if it was done once in a lifetime. The home looks great too. Sink by window often means duplex or single family home in Vancouver region = million+ home. Certificates hanging on the wall = value education.
Haha thank you! And yes this definitely took many hours to edit and another few hours to upload here on youtube 🤣 Oh well, I'm back to being a poor UBC student 👻 💸
Thank you so much for sharing this with us! Am glad you enjoyed your staycation with your parents :). It was so wholesome that I couldn't help but smile myself while watching. 🤣 (PS: please upload earlier next time, I should be sleeping rn...jks XD).
Aww, thank you so much for watching! 😊🩵 I'm so glad this made you smile hahaha I'll definitely try to post earlier next time so you don’t lose sleep! 😂 I really appreciate your support always ✨️

@@sandeshjay6080 aww thank you so much 🩵✨️
As long as the clothes are high quality, can last, and you don't mind not wearing the latest fashion. After the pandemic, clothes have gotten more expensive due to higher costs. It will be more so after additional tariffs are implemented. Curious about what you did in a prior job. It sounds like you didn't need to pay rent and other expenses then so most of the pay cheque is able to spend can feel like a lot when younger vs. mostly gone to necessities. After living expense deductions, and saving from retirement, most younger student jobs or new grad jobs little savings beyond some wants. The blueberry is not that bad compared to the other processed foods on the market. Mostly natural ingredients, extracts, or in their pure form vs. things synthesized in the lab that do not exist in nature. It is still not that healthy with the added ingredients like corn maltodextrin which acts as a preservative and is highly processed even if derived from natural ingredients. It is still real almonds vs. some questionable foods you might find in some countries where it is meant to look like and taste like almonds.
I lived in downtown before! So I was working 5 jobs at an office, tutoring, barista at starbucks, hostess at an Italian restaurant etc haha so I had enough income to pay for most things, but definitely shouldve saved more instead of spending on clothes 🤣
@@DailyMaeil How you pull off having 5 physically present jobs deserves a vlog of its own. Service type jobs are hard at least for me. Such a workhorse, strong work ethic and should understand the value of a Canadian Dollar after paying for most things on one's own. Coming to university afterward means one is more focused and knows what one wants after trying some things in life and discovering what one likes and doesn't like. It looks like 60-80 hour work week if 5 jobs. 20s you don't have as many obligations and can enjoy life more. In your 30s and onwards when one gets serious and thinks about buying a home, saving for retirement.
@@moldenm5239 yea! Back then I enjoyed meeting new people :) not so much anymore but I met good people and made connections on the way 🩷 these experiences definitely helped in many ways
@@DailyMaeil Curious about what changed for you and how the experience helped you. It seemed like long hours of front-facing service with lots of people and then after university started to study most of the days with not much social interaction. From one end of what seems like an extravert scale to the other end of an introvert scale. I followed the standard path where there was a predetermined goal that led to the next as did most of my classmates.
Hmm I think it's more about a shift in focus and priorities! My personality didn't change much but I guess I'm way too busy with school now 😆
Real blueberries lol. ALMONDS, SUGAR, NATURAL BLUEBERRY FLAVOR, CORN MALTODEXTRIN, MODIFIED CORN STARCH, SEA SALT, BLUEBERRY JUICE CONCENTRATE AND PUREE, VEGETABLE JUICE (COLOR), REBIANA (STEVIA EXTRACT).
LOOL savage. ‘Real’ but ‘modified’ 😂
Have fun! I wish I had a reading break too :')
@@katsuedon Thank you!! This year’s reading ‘break’ is only extra 2 days (until Nov 13th) :( but break is a break! haha hopefully it won’t rain as much so it’ll be less cold + sunny in the morning on your way to work :D
Pepero $5!! It is about $1.50 on sale (superstore 32g) and $2-3 regular price. Under $1 clearance if you are willing to buy 2-3 weeks before expiration ones. I find noise cancelling headphones help somewhat. UBC snowboard club trucked in snow for 1 day event. I remember when I did undergrad most finished their work by 8pm outside of direct midterms and finals so having most seats full at 10pm is a lot more work than we did. Now it is not just finishing work and understanding material but creating a paper trail of your work.
@@moldenm5239 Yea! I guess it’s because they were like ‘real’ Japanese ones? But it was over 5 bucks :( And I didn’t know we had a snowboard club, it was pretty cute to see a group of people enjoying the mini snowboarding slope hahaha
@@DailyMaeil The UBC Ski and Board Club. UBC has over 300+ clubs, so there is something for every interest you can think of. Authentic ones for Japanese vs. overseas markets or special flavors could be more expensive. E.g. Japanese Matcha KitKats sell for over $10 at regular price and around $6-7 on sale which is 2x the price of normal KitKats. Curious if you budget and see how much you spend monthly or vague idea. Breakdown of planned vs. spur of the moment purchases?
@ I’m paying for the staycation this weekend so definitely way over this month’s budget, but normally I have specific budget categorized each month
