@@AWY-LO in my opinion tempest flurry is about faster from the beginning, in order for ice strike to work correctly you need to have combat frenzy and resonance! If you can get those two then both builds are equally strong for leveling with ice strike build surpassing it the higher the level is

@@Ma77y_H dexterity is our main stat! We need it to be able to equip some items with evasion and energy, Dex also provides us with accuracy rating. Dex will also provide us with more attack speed when we get Falcon Technique node in the skill tree. Intelligence simply increases our mana which is a good stat but for later builds.

@@Linkinpark4life333 hmm this is weird! I’ve never had this issue! Only reason would be if you are not freezing them enough then you’re not generating frenzy charges for the conversion! If you are lower level than 70 then try going for the freeze buildup nodes of the build instead of attack dmg and atk speed ! I’ll research about this tho

@@koltonrusso7605 for leveling it’s really good yes! Didn’t choose combat frenzy cause it’s meant to be early leveling. Combat frenzy will only work with Resonance node and you need some game progression and levels before you can get it

@@dash4786 yeah I feel you, I’m playing between 2-3 builds and the cost is real! Thankfully they recently made it cheaper , hopefully one day we get it for free or even have the option to create multiple presets

@@RIPlly oh that’s very normal, don’t even worry about that for now it’s still early! You’ll finish act 3 and won’t have all skills at 3 slots it’s normal :)

Depending on which level you are fighting the worm boss it can be a bit tough, i used Glacial Spike to slowly nuke him down from afar while dodging his abilities. Was using the Locus when i got close before he does the headbutt hit on the ground for some extra damage

It’s preference, tempest flurry is a little faster but ice strike hits harder and freezes so much more efficiently. I’ve been stuck on t14 for like a week changing my build every day, it completely depends on what gear you get which skills will feel good for you. Not to mention the mobility of ice strike it feels like flicker if it hit like a truck

The Ice strike build is actually really viable for endgame, but as i mentioned before this build is for early endgame, you later enhance it further with specific gear and further ascendancy nodes

@@Will-sd7pt I agree that Ice Strike feels better than tempest flurry later on for its mobility and potential of clearance, not to mention the ring and ascendacy that makes this build viable for T15s

This is an early version of the Ice Monk Build, its one of monks top 5 builds for endgame

You can definitely grab a few of them yeah, but depends whether you get some on your gear or not. Personally i had some lightning dmg on my gear so didnt want to waste nodes on it too

So far Monk has been dodging all nerfs ! Dont think the whole monk class will be nerfed I simply expect some abilities to get nerfed slightly , but they will always have OP builds :D

@@ScorpiusOfficial as someone playing as close to top tier minion build as i can seeing a monk clear half of a t15 trial with one flick of a stick and most bosses in one shot is insane

@ yeah definitely understandable, I would actually prefer a nerf to balance things out

I’ve completely changed my passive tree over ten times, i use ice strike with charged staff and the bell for bad rares and bosses, cast on crit works really well for charges with profane ritual if you have a high base crit staff and spec for crit. Mostly use storm wave for map clears now, herald of ice plus giga Chad ice ring or shattering palm till you get one. Grim feast wind dancer to live. None of this matters unless you can get the gear though, need capped res 2k life 2k energy shield. Then you’ll still get one shot by chaos till you get chaos res. It’s fun I’m having fun😅😅😅

Well tbh this exact build too me to clearing t8s with ease, however it all depends on the rest of the attributes you have from gear for example. The build is great and it has really good potential for later on, but if you lack the basic stats such as Resistances, Energy Shield and Spirit to be able to run all your defensive Auras like Grim, Wind dancer and Ghost Dance, it will definitely be harder

It's viable starting around lvl 30. I just finished normal campaign into cruel mode with no issues. I just struggle with spirit levels

Yeah I agree with @potencygg's comment. You can start this build as early as you please, but you wont have enough for all the auras, which shouldnt be an issue as you'll be cruising through the mobs.

@@Hersendood I have indeed but the reason I didn’t is because tempest flurry with or without charged staff obliterates normal mobs and rares. And on bosses those two plus a tempest bell is more than enough for bosses. Orb of storms is a very good spell but would simply delay me at this point in the build , it’s a great addition for later tho

@@Zaelers agree on all 3 points, the reason I added the shattering palm is to not force people to buy the ring but it’s the BIS item for this build.

Is EVA/ES Armor still better considering acrobatics and the skill that gives ES per Evasion on the body armour?

@@chayz3126 you need a lot of evasion to get back to 70+ after acrobatics, so I'm not sure. I also don't think you need it as Invoker monk anyway

@@PABLOSGHOST no worries that’s a legit question! In order for siphoning strike to give you a charge you need to use it on specific mobs. The mobs are the ones that you shock. By hitting them with spells like storm wave and tempest flurry you have a chance to shock them which you will see a blue lightning on them. When they have that on them then you use siphoning strike on them and it will give you a charge. That’s why we need to make sure we have the 100% chance to shock gem on tempest flurry so you can be able to shock them nonstop

@ why do we need siphoning strike and killing palm? I find palm easy to use ? Siphoning hit and miss, why 2 charge procks ?

@@PABLOSGHOST for early leveling you want the two cause it’s the only source of generation. Killing palm is not ideal because you usually kill everything with your tempest flurry and the ones who survive are very few which will force to stop pumping to get a charge. Additionally killing palm is useless against bosses. Siphoning strike is primarily used for bosses so u can charge staff into bell

@@JJ-is4wm physical is converted to cold damage from charged staff but shattering palm we only need it to apply the coat of cold so we can shatter!

@@kiqueazah this build definitely works since early levels! I still believe that my lightning build is faster and stronger than this build but it’s definitely viable. You can check the Ultimate Monk leveling guide that I have for early levels and then swap to this. You’ll notice that the skill tree is not very different so it will be cheap to change :)

it's extremely good through the campaign. ice strike's dash and aoe gets you through trash quickly, and the constant freezing makes building full damage in the campaign pretty safe so you can just burst down anything, including bosses

It's viable early. I switched to ice strike around lvl 30, but there's no reason you couldn't do it earlier. Combat frenzy is revolutionizing for the build though. You'll take more deaths trying to target mobs with the shattering palm ability to get charges

Use glacial cascade until you get ice strike at 16 i think? Easy peasy

I think bcs of it being cold build, it safe to say it can work on Harcore as it safer with the ccs 🤔

@@joaomarcosdiniz9188 yeah you can definitely do this for hardcore. It has really really strong damage, cc and defensives! However don’t forget that this builds highlight is that it engages and leaps to each target closing the gap all the time, so for hardcore you need to watch out for stuff on your feet when you jump on them

There will definitely be another part! At the moment I am inbetween builds just so i can finish up with all the monk builds for endgame and provide you guys with everything that is worth considering. I still havent decided which build ill main. I have two more builds i want to showcase and then ill settle for one of them :) Hope this helps

There are some items that come with intelligence or you may be lucky to roll into it. Personally whenever i needed INT i simply refunded a few nodes on the passive tree

lightning-only monk falls off near the end of the campaign. combining herald of ice and lightning together makes this build strong

I have done something similar ive stick on ice strike combined with charged staff and tri herald buff (ice, light and ash) I have put the unique ice ring that allow you to shatter mobs with just cold damage (no need to freeze them) and this is absolute screen cleaning stuff Im even killing off screen mobs thanks to the chain created by the ring and herald of ice (1 mob shatter = cold damage = ring activate and everything shatter = herald of ice proc again ; and on and on) Herald of Thunder give me damage on electrocuted, some control and some energy shield Herald of ash finish everything that is still alive after the big explosions Im lvl 80+ crushing T15 but need more lvl to be very efficient on bossing because sometimes I dont freeze them right away and it can be dangerous, but it will be fix with some nodes I need to go for Im also chaos innoculate for comfort and survivability Sorry for my bad english btw 😅

Oh and for moovement, since I have frenzy charges ive put flicker strike as a moovement skill ! The only down side is I need a very high density to use it like breaches because everything I touch explode widely and can stop the flickering chain 😂

I definitely understand where you are coming from , i would love to have that option too like presets. I am preparing another build now that is closer to the lightning monk build adding and removing a few things. This cold build is really strong and has great potential for upgrades and its pretty cheap to respecc to it :)

In the video you see the start of the this build and you'll notice that i'm oneshotting packs of mobs and have an incredibly easy time on bosses. The potential of how this build can grow is insane.
