20 Year Old Nepenthes Bicalcarata Dying
Просмотров 2,7 тыс.Год назад
It is a sad day in the world of carnivorous plants as a 20-year-old Nepenthes bicalcarata has passed away. This stunning pitcher plant, known for its distinctive fangs and bright green coloration, had been a beloved member of our collection for many years. However, despite our best efforts, the plant had begun to wither and show signs of decline. Rather than letting it go to waste, we made the ...

Florawave P85 Grow Light Shelves for Venus Flytraps
I have purchased a sun pitcher minor and asked information about taking care of it and was not responded to. I need to know if a sun pitcher that is used to be under led lights will only survive under those lights? I am using florescent lights in a aquarium turned into a terrarium and almost all the pitchers became thin, very red and burned. I misted them two three times daily. Used distilled water. Added water to the larger pitchers. Added tiny parts of freeze dried bloodworms to those pitchers and they became redder, thinner and stopped turning green. I only have two new pitchers growing. But I don’t know how long they would last. I also added a little of water underneath its tray.

What is the mixture that you used?
Do they eat fungus gnats/gnat flies? When too they eat flies? Around what month?
I am planning on the near future to use an old aquarium that I used as a terrarium for Venus fly traps and sundews. But now I want to use for one or two sun pitchers. One or two crocodile 🐊 ferns and maybe one spoon sundews. Can I use florescent light/others in that terrarium instead of led? And could I use a fogger for those sun pitchers.

Me looking at my tc spiritus that doesn't have radial growth
Just ordered 6 plants from you guys. Great selection, can't wait to see the plants in person!
I just got into growing nepenthes a little over a year ago. I grow and have grown orchids for years. My question - Are nepenthes susceptible to orchid viruses or other diseases?
Such beautiful and underrated plants in the hobby :)
Thanks for this video! Super informative. I was wondering, would venus fly traps do well in an open terrarium and are there any other carnivorous plants that would be suited for one?
Any reason this would happen?
I brought some seeds from Australia hopefully it will be okay
My tissue cultured looks like that. You need to be patient and make sure it's in the right conditions and fertilizer regularly. The growth is slower but once it matures it will look just li😊ke that
How do I get my flowers to grow larger
THIS IS ACTUALLY SO HILARIOUS
I use a shop light from harbor freight. With great results. And didn’t have to spend a fortune.
There's many lights that can produce good results but Florawaves are so energy efficient they end up paying for themselves in electricity savings in around a year. in addition, they are also warrantied and waterproof.
Such a beautiful plant. Sounds kind of picky and expensive
It can be a bit picky. That's why we produce hybrids with it that are much easier to grow but have the same cool characteristics.
@@dmartinez84 that’s awesome. I would love to get an Edwardsiana someday and for sure it would have to be a hybrid.
That observation would make sense as to the habitat of cephalotus follicularis who also have the fangs, and how it definitely gets dry in sw Australia...
Do you use Maxsea? I’ve been using Maxsea for my nepenthes. 5ml or so twice a month. I’ve noticed bigger leaves producing smaller pitchers. Any advice?
Great care video. Short and clear to understand.
The fact that the video doesn't waste anyone's time👌
i bought a mimis kiss from u
I’m using Maxsea fertilizer for my nepenthes. I’ve been filling all my pitchers with 5 milliliters or so of the solution twice a month. Does that sound about right or what would you recommend?
Carnivero hasn’t posted on RUclips in quite a while. I have a nepenthes mollis from Carnivero I had it for almost 3 years
Your website and plants are healthy and thank you for this amazing vid
Great video. Ventricosa Red was my first pitcher because I heard it was easy to grow. It does well in on a windowsill where it gets plenty of light.
Good job thank you
I am anxiously waiting for new pitchers here. The hybrids you guys create are amazing!!!

Good job thank you
Just bought a Diana after your tour with crime pays but botany doesn’t
Very helpful!
Is that a rajah x peltata?
Great video thanks! I also appreciate the Tipps you gave on the website 😊 I'll got Débilis today and it's in a soil mix so we'll see how this will turn out!
That's really interesting speculation. I always assumed the ribs were either an adaptation to larger prey or a more efficient trapping mechanism due to the highly reduced potential surface area for escaping prey to utilise.
You tore so many of its roots out
I just checked and i also have a CAR 0001 got mine about a month ago
Can you do a video like this but for clipeata?
maybe it needs a hard repott
I think that’s too much rocks perline that’s why the plant look sick
Can you please do one for villosa.
The plant reminds me of the konjac plant. Is it related?
Yes
Got an xs one a bit over 5 months ago. Now it's potted in a 1 gallon and is almost 9 inches in diameter leaf tip to leaf tip (Not including tendrils and pitcher). I'm amazed at how fast it grew and I'm even more excited that I got a plant with very stripy pitchers. It hasn't started making mature pitchers yet but it's showing an amazing amount of stripes! I'm so happy with how it's turned out so far.
That water is tap water? Will its roots burn later on?
We have a rainwater collection/ RO system plumbed into all the water at the nursery.
Some tap is safe, test your TDS with a handheld meter and ph too. In Colorado a lot of people are fine
It’s drew hi remember me.
🤟💚💚💚
Beautiful plant.
I have a TC spiritus and it's not growing radial I'm pretty sure it depends on lighting
