My God how we all fell for brainwashing advertising back then, and still do to this day. Have we learnt nothing? Nostalgia is one thing, but the underlying messages from this time still prevail today. Sweet voices, soothing, catchy music and over happy actors. All lies. It's 2024 and we're all still slaves to advertising, rhetoric, smoke and mirrors and dodgy legal practice. FFS.

If anyone owns or is on the brink of discovery of a Time Machine, I will sell my soul to go back. Please. The world we live in now is slowly encroaching on absolute and utter evil collapse. We need to go back and change everything from happening to the world we are currently in.

The 80s were a magical time in Australia. I was a teenager, my family traveled to Bangkok, Kong and Singapore all throughout this decade. Money was easily made and most businesses were booming. The old man would have himself and his business partner go out on their 60 ft cruiser and every month they ordered 2 pallets of Heineken to be delivered to the McMahons point cellars to be collected by us boys when he needed a case or two. With a Mercedes 190 E Flared AMG and a Porsche 911 parked out the front. There was a car shop in North Sydney on the freeway ramp called the ToyShop with Lamborghini Countach and De Tomaso cars and an old Bentley. Simply put the 80s were like no other time in my life time and I am proud to say that I lived in that era

Missing some of those old stores like Venture is more than just nostalgia - more stores provided more competition but then some of them got too big and swallowed the rest.

With only a few exceptions, they got to the point straight away. I miss that. Now days you don't even know what the ad is about until the logo comes up at the end.
